Abstract

A mesh processing scheme for handling higher- order split-conformal cases in the Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) method is presented, addressing challenges in simulating complex geometries involving thin and random metallic structures. It introduces a comprehensive framework that includes identification, classification, and processing techniques to accurately handle higher-order split-conformal mesh facets. The effectiveness of the scheme is demonstrated through an example, showing improved modeling accuracy with sparser mesh lines and reduced computational complexity.
