A secure data deduplication framework for cloud environments

Cloud storage provides great benefits and advantages like reduction in cost, increased flexibility, elasticity and the efficient use of resources. With these great advantages, there are concerns and problem for cloud users. Some obstacles in using cloud computing services are because of its distributed and untransparent nature. That's why users have no control over their data and information and are not sure of whether or not to trust cloud providers. Therefore, the objective of this research is to examine the influence of customer and provider characteristics on cloud service outcome, impact of Trust on cloud service outcome, and to examine if Trust mediate the relationship of customer characteristics and provider’s characteristics with cloud service outcome. In order to achieve the objectives of this research, the analyses of measurement model, factor analysis, assessment of structure model and regression analysis has been conducted. The Findings of this study shows that the existing threats in cloud service is one of the reason why users are not trusting cloud service providers. These threats which are privacy and security cause unwillingness to use cloud services. This study also found that Trust plays an enormous role for cloud service users and providers because it increases usage, willingness to use among customers, and reputation of cloud service providers. It also found that Outcome is really low if there is no trust in these services. This study will help cloud service providers/developers to know the reasons why some people and organizations are not willing to use their services.

Using cloud data clients may transfer data from their computer systems to cloud servers. Hence, user will not have any burden of maintenance and also he gets high quality data storage services. Many security issues are concerned with cloud storage. Cloud service providers or storage servers are not completely trustworthy. The user is concerned about the information stored on cloud are in place or not turns. This paper is based on homomorphic hash algorithm. Further this supports dynamic operations such as insert, update, delete and modify at block level, for data dynamics Merkle Hash Tree is used which helps to find the location of each dynamic operation. Third party auditor checks the user's data for correctness and gives the accuracy of the data that is stored in cloud server. The communication and computation overhead are reduced. Deduplication technique is used to check whether the file that user need to store in cloud storage is already exist at cloud server or not. This framework is effective and secure against replace attack launch by malicious server.

Payment-based incentive mechanism for secure cloud deduplication

An advancement in computing qualities that are both economical and powerful have been made possible by the Internet's dramatic development in processing and storage methods. A new technology that offers internet application access and data storage, cloud computing is becoming more and more popular. Both opportunities and challenges abound in this system. Two extremely important issues that need to be addressed are data security and the growing amount of similar data duplication in cloud. A cloud computing system, supported via distributed & virtual machine technology, offers the most comprehensive services in the most effective way. When using the cloud technology, customers may access their limitless storage space from any location at any time. Cloud service providers are responsive to customer requests to increase data storage capacity by integrating cloud systems with deduplication techniques, while deduplication techniques erase redundant data that is available in cloud environments, according to the company. Preserving data privacy is another significant issue that needs to be acknowledged for its significance. For reducing duplicate data quantity in storage system, the deduplication technique was developed. This study offers a novel method for eliminating duplicate or repetitive information from cloud servers, that might aid in lowering storage space amount and needed bandwidth. It was illustrated that by using testing outcomes, proposed model eliminates the main drawbacks of the existing methods while also offering increased security for data kept in cloud storage

<span lang="EN-US">Cloud Computing is the ability to improve the utility or train new human resources without investing in new infrastructure, or add capabilities to existence without the latest software licensing. It expanded the capabilities of Information Technology (IT). From the past few years, cloud computing has developed from a good business concept in the best rising sectors of the IT industry. But more information on individuals and companies was put in the cloud, and concerns began to think about how secure the cloud environment was. Despite cloud surrounding structures, enterprise users still do not want to expand their business in the cloud. Security reduces the growth of cloud computing and continues to spread the market with complexity with data privacy and data protection. The security of cloud computing has constantly been an significant aspect of improved quality of service from cloud service providers. Data storage in the cloud has a problem related to data security. However, cloud computing construct many new security challenges which have not been well examine. In order to ensure that the user's data in the cloud is secure, we have proposed an effective mechanism with a distinctive feature of data integrity and privacy. This paper focusing on problems relating to the cloud data storage techniques and security in virtual environment. We recommend a method for providing data storage and security in cloud using public key Cryptosystem, which uses the concept of the modified RSA algorithm to provide better security for the data stored in the cloud. </span>

Cloud service, which has changed the business computing pattern, redefines the calculation scope of distributed systems by cloud computing approaches. The existing cloud service model provides different users an advanced on-demand computing model, and then achieves resource interaction between cloud service providers and users by cloud computing. However, this model, working as a centralized service strategy of resource allocation, also generates much scattered space debris resulting in a low efficiency of resource scheduling and utilization. To address this issue, we devise an improved model of crowd sourcing service and propose a technique of storage resource allocation and scheduling, where cloud service providers, as a resource agent, only provide leasing storage space for individual applicants instead of providing storage resources directly. This technique achieves allocation and scheduling of individual storage resources dynamically, according to user's expectations and individual storage providers constraints. The experimental results based on a large data set show that the improved model reduces the storage space of cloud service providers by 88.2% and improves storage space utilization rate of individuals by 65.2%, The improved model reduces the user fees by 64.8% and the cloud services development cost by 78.6% than that of existing models, In addition, the improved model and methods provide higher profits and efficiency for cloud service providers.

At present, sharing of files and other media is a common use case which involves cloud storage services. However, the privacy of cloud services has become questionable as certain free cloud service providers use personal content for analytical purposes. Also, in order to share content over cloud storages, local files must be uploaded to cloud services, even for minor use cases such as directory browsing. This paper presents a novel solution which provides similar sharing capabilities to that of existing cloud services without having to store content in a cloud storage. The solution enables direct content browsing, uploading and downloading using a web interface. The solution also provides the capability to generate links for locally stored content in desktop or personal computers. The presented solution utilizes peer-to-peer networking technologies which are scalable and more secure. Furthermore, the performance measures indicate competitive results in comparison with existing cloud service providers for content sharing.

Cloud storage is the decisive service for the organization, hospitals etc., for storing huge amount of data within their budget. But, Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) are facing the major problem of duplicate and redundant data being accumulated by Data Owners (DO) in the cloud storages. Deduplication is one of the major technique to solve the above problem but faces the major drawback in the form of security flaws. Secure deduplication is a very promising solution proposed by the researchers for addressing this issue. In this paper, problems like revocation of DOs, brute force attack and duplicate faking attack are addressed as part of secure deduplication. The proposed approach is having two protocols, namely, Proof of Identity (PoI) and Proof of Data Integrity (PoDI) which solves the above-mentioned problems. The proposed approach improves the efficiency of secure deduplication, enhances data privacy and addresses Data Owner (DO) revocation problem.

Cloud Computing is the delivery of computing as a service, which is specifically involved with Storage of data, enabling ubiquitous, convenient access to shared resources that are provided to computers and other devices as a utility over a network. Storage, which is considered to be the key attribute, is hindered by the presence of redundant copies of data. Data Deduplication is a specialized technique for data compression and duplicate detection for eliminating duplicate copies of data to make storage utilization efficient. Cloud Service Providers currently employ Hashing technique so as to avoid the presence of redundant copies. Apparently, there are a few major pitfalls which can be vanquished through the employment of a Nature - Inspired, Genetic Programming Approach, for deduplication. Genetic Programming is a systematic, domain - independent programming model making use of the ideologies of biological evolution so as to handle a complicated problem. A Sequence Matching Algorithm and Levenshtein's Algorithm are used for Text Comparison and then Genetic Programming concepts are utilized to detect the closest match. The performance of these three algorithms and hashing technique are compared. Since bio-inspired concepts, systems and algorithms are found to be more efficient, a Nature-Inspired Approach for data deduplication in cloud storage is implemented.

With the continuous development of Internet technology, cloud storage has been widely applied and developed. Users can store data through the network anytime, anywhere. However, the frequent occurrence of a series of cloud storage data security events show that cloud storage not only provides data storage services for users, but also poses huge threats and challenges to users' data security. Aiming at the problem of user data security in cloud storage environment, the system introduces multi-cloud storage system on the basis of the traditional single cloud storage system. The system uses Erasure Code to block the original data, and encrypts the data blocks using AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) encryption technology, then stores the encrypted data blocks in different cloud storages terminals. Thus, the hidden danger of data loss or leakage due to relying on a cloud service provider is eliminated, the existing security problems of cloud storage system are improved, and the security and reliability of the multi-cloud secure storage system are improved.

Motivated by most of the current cloud resource allocation policy which are cloud service provider/owner centric in which criteria are maximum utilization, maximum revenue collection, and performance, of cloud resources. In this paper we present a framework which act as cloud storage broker and provide the cloud storage service to user the using user centric criteria are which based on minimum cost and maximum security. Like other computing model resources allocation is also a challenging task in cloud computing. Cloud storage services are widely used to eliminate the need for local storage to lowering operational and maintenance costs. However, budget, security and privacy are major concerns when data are out-sourced. In this paper, we also describe and implement proposed cloud resource allocation framework that integrates cloud storage resources that are provided by different cloud service providers. Finally evaluate the proposed framework using case study in which different user request and cloud resource are generated randomly. The simulation results suggest that approach reach near to optimal solution for resource allocation. The result shows that efficiency of the framework and algorithm depends on the configuration of available resources as well as on configuration of user request.

Data Portability: Key to Cloud Portability and Interoperability

Cloud storage is becoming an option for users in keeping their data online, but it comes with the security threats and challenges of protecting their data from threats. Many security frameworks have been suggested by existing studies, governing bodies, industry standards etc. as guidelines to be implemented by cloud service providers (CSPs) but the complete set of controls cannot be fully implemented due to several challenges such as decreasing availability, less user convenience, need of a robust infrastructure etc. Therefore, there is a need to investigate the security requirements and threats which will enable efficient security protection to protect data in cloud storage. This paper will discuss security requirements and analyses existing cloud security threats. The threats will be modelled in a cloud storage scenario. Future work will involve confirming the security framework using a triangulation method. This will involve confirming the idea with experts and simulations of the designated security requirements on cloud storage that will be used to test the framework.

With the rapid development of cloud advancement, a data security challenge has emerged. In this paper, a technique based on elliptical cryptography and cuckoo search algorithm is proposed. With this technique, data owners securely store their data files in the cloud server. Initially the user sends a file storage request to store a file in a cloud server provider (CSP). The input file is checked whether it is sensitive or non-sensitive by the user. If the file is sensitive, then it would be split and stored in different virtual machines (VMs), and if the file is non-sensitive, then it would be assigned in a single VM. This approach was used for the first time as per the survey. To add further security, the sensitive data retrieval needs an encryption process that is supported by the proposed algorithm. If the data owner stores the sensitive data to cloud server, the data owner's document is encrypted by the double encryption technique. Here RSA and optimal elliptic curve cryptography (OECC) algorithm is used to encrypt the document with high security. The authors have used cuckoo search algorithm to identify the optimal key in ECC. This paper has proposed a novel cryptography approach for delivering mass distributed storage by which user's original data cannot be directly reached by cloud operators. Hence, this research has proved that the proposed work will give better securable data storage solving the security issues.

Cloud storage is one of the key features of cloud computing, which helps cloud users outsource large numbers of data without upgrading their devices. However, Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) data storage faces problems with data redundancy. The data deduplication technique aims at eliminating redundant information segments and maintains one single instance of the data set, even if any number of users own similar data set. Since blocks of data are spread on many servers, each block of the file has to be downloaded before restoring the file to decrease system output. We suggest a cloud storage server data recovery module to improve file access efficiency and reduce time spent on network bandwidth. Device coding is used in the suggested method to store blocks in distributed cloud storage, and for data integrity, MD5 (Message Digest 5) is used. Running recovery algorithm helps the user to retrieve a file directly from the cloud servers without downloading every block. The scheme proposed improves system time efficiency and the ability to access the stored data quickly. This reduces bandwidth consumption and reduces overhead user processing while downloading the data file.
