This paper investigates a dynamic event-triggered model-free adaptive heading consensus tracking issue for unmanned surface vehicles (USVs). First, a dynamic linearization data model is established by merely using the input and output data of the controlled systems. Then, the characteristics of USVs are analyzed, and a difference-type heading consensus controller is designed. Moreover, the resource-efficient control issue is further considered, and a dynamic event-triggered mechanism is formulated for USVs to implement heading consensus tracking tasks. Finally, the convergence of the consensus tracking errors is roughly proved, and several simulation studies verify the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed method.

This article investigates adaptive control problems for unknown second-order nonlinear multiagent systems (MASs) via an event-triggered approach. An adaptive event-triggered consensus controller is given to second-order MAS with unknown nonlinear dynamics. We prove that the proposed consensus controller is free from Zeno behavior. Next, an adaptive event-triggered tracking controller is developed for leader-follower MAS with the leader having bounded nonzero control input. Both consensus and tracking controllers are fully distributed, which means that event-triggered controllers only use local cooperative information. Finally, an unknown second-order nonlinear MAS is used to verify the given event-triggered controllers.

This article focuses on an adaptive dynamic surface tracking control issue of nonlinear multiagent systems (MASs) with unmodeled dynamics and input quantization under predefined accuracy. Radial basis function neural networks (RBFNNs) are employed to estimate unknown nonlinear items. A dynamic signal is established to handle the trouble introduced by the unmodeled dynamics. Moreover, the predefined precision control is realized with the aid of two key functions. Unlike the existing works on nonlinear MASs with unmodeled dynamics, to avoid the issue of "explosion of complexity," the dynamic surface control (DSC) method is applied with the nonlinear filter. By using the designed controller, the consensus errors can gather to a precision assigned a priori. Finally, the simulation results are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.

In this paper, an adaptive dynamic event-triggered output-feedback control scheme is proposed for a class of uncertain nonlinear systems. Specifically, a parameter estimator and a Nussbaum function are incorporated into the dynamic event-triggered control scheme to compensate for serious uncertainties, including the completely unknown parameter allowed in system nonlinearities and the unknown control coefficients (both signs and magnitudes are unknown). Importantly, an additional internal dynamic variable is introduced into the event-triggering mechanism, enabling the control scheme to save network resources more efficiently compared with the static ones in the related works. In addition, by skillfully designing the dynamics of this variable, the influence of the execution error can be fully counteracted. It is shown that, with the proposed control scheme, the system states can asymptotically converge to zero, instead of to a residual set, while excluding the Zeno phenomenon. To validate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed scheme, two simulation examples are provided.

This article designs the static and dynamic event-triggered control (ETC) and self-triggered control (STC) algorithms to achieve the semiglobal stabilization of discrete-time systems with input constraints. First, a novel static ETC algorithm based on the discrete-time parametric Lyapunov equation (DPLE) is designed. In order to further increase the interevent times (IETs), the corresponding dynamic ETC is designed. Next, both static and dynamic STC, where the next control law updates depend on the previous triggered states, are proposed to avoid monitoring the measurement errors. The proposed algorithms are not only capable of reducing the number of transmissions significantly but also build a very simple and clear relationship between the only design parameter and the nontrivial IET (NIET). This allows us to change regularly IETs by adjusting the design parameter so that the nontriviality of static and dynamic ETC and STC is guaranteed and a tradeoff between the IETs and the control performance can be easily found. Specifically, by exploring the properties of DPLE, the designed algorithms avoid the complex relationship between the nontrivial condition and the system matrices. Finally, the designed static and dynamic ETC and STC algorithms are applied to the design of the spacecraft rendezvous control system and their effectiveness is verified by simulation results.

Event-triggered adaptive optimal tracking control for nonlinear stochastic systems with dynamic state constraints

In this work, the tracking control problem for a class of nonlinear strict-feedback systems with input nonlinearity is addressed. In response to the influence of input nonlinearity, an auxiliary control system is constructed to compensate for it. To process unknown nonlinear dynamics, radial basis function neural networks (RBFNNs) are introduced to approximate them, and some adaptive updating control laws are designed to estimate unknown parameters. Furthermore, during the dynamic surface control (DSC) design process, first-order low-pass filters are introduced to solve the complexity explosion problems caused by repeated differentiation. After that, an NN-based adaptive dynamic surface tracking controller is proposed to achieve the tracking control. By applying the proposed controller, it can be guaranteed that not only the output of the system can track the desired trajectory, but also that the tracking error can converge to a small neighborhood of zero, while all signals of the closed-loop system are bounded. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed controller is verified through two examples.

This paper focuses on fixed-time event-triggered consensus tracking of high-order MAS over digraph and under DOS attack. The considered DOS attack is divided into connectivity-maintained attack and connectivity-broken attack. To detect connectivity-broken attack under event-triggered environment, a new cyberattack detection algorithm is presented. Next, using cyberattack detection results, a fixed-time event-triggered distributed observer is developed to estimate the leader’s states in the presence of DOS attack, which conducts event-triggered update in the normal condition and under connectivity-maintained attack and stops updating in the presence of connectivity-broken attack. Then, an adaptive event-triggered prescribed-time dynamic surface consensus tracking control protocol is proposed to eliminate mismatched disturbances caused by estimation error and achieve prescribed-time convergence of the tracking error. Stability analysis proves fixed-time convergence of the developed consensus tracking strategy and non-zeno analysis shows the developed distributed observer and consensus tracking control strategy exclude zeno behavior. This paper contributes to proposing a fixed-time leader-follower consensus control strategy for MAS under DOS attack via event-triggered approach, which eliminates the effect of DOS attack, achieves consensus tracking within a fixed time and reduces resources consumption. Finally, simulation results show the effectiveness and superiority of the developed consensus tracking approach.
