Abstract

A numerical analysis of the nonlinear free surface elevation in the bow region is carried out. The boundary value problem is two-dimensionalized by the slender body approximation, and the boundary integral equation method is applied to find the solution. The results illustrate well the breaking of bow waves and spray generation.
