Analysis of the Multi Objective Optimization by Ratio Analysis (MOORA) Method in Determining Pilot Areas at PT. XYZ

Este estudo avaliou a eficiência dos serviços contábeis na geração de riqueza e qualidade de vida nos Estados brasileiros. Para a análise foram consideradas as variáveis: número de contadores, valores do PIB indústria, serviços, agropecuária e impostos, índices do IDH longevidade e educação - dos Estados brasileiros. Essas proxies foram utilizadas com o intuito de verificar em quais Estados os serviços contábeis são mais eficientes em impulsionar a economia e contribuir para uma melhor qualidade de vida, representada pela longevidade e pela educação. Para realizar essa avaliação aplicou-se o método Multi-Objective Optimization by Ratio Analysis (MOORA). Por meio da aplicação desse método elaborou-se um ranking de eficiência que apresentou o Estado de São Paulo em primeiro lugar e o Estado do Acre em último lugar. Os resultados também evidenciaram que o maior número de contadores reside nos Estados de São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná Bahia e Santa Catarina. Essa disparidade na distribuição do número de contadores e nos valores dos itens do PIB não ficou tão fortemente evidenciada nos elementos do IDH, pois estes índices ficaram acima da média nacional em aproximadamente a metade dos 27 membros da federação. Esse estudo contribui para a valorização dos serviços contábeis demonstrando que eles podem interferir também na geração de riqueza dos Estados e indiretamente contribuir para a melhoria da qualidade de vida das pessoas. The rapid development of information technology, especially the internet and smartphones, has changed the paradigm in the way humans interact and access information. In Indonesia, internet use has soared, with most access via smartphones. The growth of the mid-range smartphone market creates the need for a more in-depth assessment in selecting suitable products. To help potential buyers, this research proposes the use of a decision support system (DSS) that uses the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Multi-Objective Optimization by Ratio Analysis (MOORA) methods. AHP is used to determine the weight of the criteria, while MOORA is used to provide recommendations for smartphone selection. From the test results on 87 types of mid-range smartphones using a combination of these two methods, the recommendation results for mid-range smartphones with the Realme GT Neo 3T brand as first place, Realme GT Neo 3 as second place, and Poco F4 as third place.

The decision-making process is important to improve efficiency and accuracy, especially in assistance programs such as the Smart Indonesia Card (KIP). The problem in this study is that the selection process often faces several obstacles, such as inappropriate targets and subjectivity in decision-making. Therefore, a system is needed that can help decision-making more objectively, transparently, and efficiently. Decision Support Systems (DSS) are one solution that can be used to overcome these problems. This study aims to create a DSS in determining eligible KIP recipients, using two multi-criteria analysis methods, namely MOORA (Multi-Objective Optimization by Ratio Analysis) and MOOSRA (Multi-Objective Optimization on the basis of Simple Ratio Analysis). Analysis using the MOORA and MOOSRA methods in determining prospective students receiving the Smart Indonesia Card (KIP) was carried out using 7 alternatives and 9 criteria. This system is designed by considering criteria such as parental dependents, place of residence, type of house, average report card grades, father's education, mother's education, father's occupation, mother's occupation, and parents' income. The results of the study show that based on the analysis of the calculation of the MOORA and MOOSRA methods, the ranking results were obtained with A5 or Zaysa as alternative students who are entitled to receive KIP among other alternative students. The results of the analysis show that both methods provide consistent results in identifying students who are most entitled to receive KIP assistance. As a recommendation, this system can be further developed in the form of a web-based or mobile application to facilitate implementation and expand the scope of its use.

Family Planning (KB) is a family implementation to determine the number of births. The important thing in the success of this implementation is the use of contraceptives. Contraceptives are determined based on the effect on contraceptive users. The main factor of the problem is the absence of suitable contraception for all users. With these problems a Decision Support System (DSS) is needed to determine the appropriate contraceptive method for the user's condition. In selecting decisions using the Multi-Objective Optimization by Ratio Analysis (MOORA) method. The MOORA method is used because this method can determine decisions based on criteria in the level of efficiency and the selection process is accurate but has simplicity. The criteria needed at this selection stage are price, age, menstrual history, effectiveness, time period, history of childbirth and number of children. The results obtained from this study are that, the MOORA method can choose alternatives and rank when making recommendations for contraceptives that are suitable until they are as needed. Where the alternative pill (A5) is a contraceptive for couples of childbearing age that suits their needs. The highest Yi (Max) value is 0.2249

Digital Supply Chain (DSC) is an intelligent process that leverages innovative solutions with emerging technological means to generate new forms of revenue and business value for organizations. Stakeholders in supply chains, whether selling goods or services, do use, generate and share information with others. Interest in DSC is growing by both from academics and businesses. Supplier selection constitutes one of the crucial tasks from a supply chain digitalization perspective. This paper approaches the supplier selection problem in a DSC environment, which by its nature depends on many parameters. Therefore, a multi-criteria analysis and solution methodology is presented, which incorporates decision makers' insufficient knowledge and other pressures involved in the evaluation with the help of an extension of MOORA (Multi-objective Optimization by Ratio Analysis) ratio system approach. This method uses interval valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers and a group decision making approach, which is demonstrated on a real case study to demonstrate the validity of the proposed approach for selecting suitable suppliers in DSC.

The present work investigates on the material removal rate, surface roughness, and kerf width of the high-carbon and high-chromium steel during wire electrical discharge machining process. Experiments are planned and carried out on the base of Taguchi’s L9 orthogonal array in order to analyze the effects of pulse width time, wire feed rate, and pulse off time on response variables. This paper applied an efficient optimization technique; multi-objective optimization by ratio analysis (MOORA) technique for optimization of Wire EDM process parameters. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) is calculated in order to determine the effect of each input parameter on the overall efficiency of response variables. This method indicates that the machining performance is considerably changed by pulse width time and very less influenced by wire feed rate. It is also concluded that the MOORA method is a very effective technique for complex multi-objective optimization problems and can also be implemented without using any software. In future, the outcome of input process parameters, for instance, wire material, wire tension, flushing pressure, dielectric fluid type, etc., can be investigated to attain enhanced material removal rate, mirror surface quality, and cutting of nonconducting materials.

Laptops have become essential in the world of work, education, and society. With a laptop, tasks such as creating reports, sending data, learning, and even entertainment become easier. However, the variety of laptops available with different specifications can confuse people when choosing one that suits their profession and status. This confusion often leads to wasted time and the risk of choosing a laptop that does not meet their needs. Therefore, a decision support system (DSS) is needed to provide laptop recommendations based on desired criteria. In this study, the method used is a collaboration of Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Multi-Objective Optimization By Ratio Analysis (MOORA). AHP is used to calculate the weight of laptop criteria according to desired criteria, while MOORA is used to rank the recommended laptop values suitable for use. The implementation of the AHP and MOORA methods in this study resulted in laptop recommendations that meet the desired criteria and specifications of the community. Based on manual calculations in this study, the top-ranked laptop recommendation is alternative A8, the HP Victus Gaming Laptop 15 with a Yi of 0.424, followed by alternative A2, the HP Pavilion Gaming 15 with a Yi of 0.382. This study is considered successful because the results of manual calculations and those of the system built are consistent. Thus, the implementation of AHP and MOORA methods in a web-based system can be used for laptop recommendations.

Optimization problems are relevant to various areas of human activity. In different cases, the problems are solved by applying appropriate optimization methods. A range of optimization problems has resulted in a number of different methods and algorithms for reaching solutions. One of the problems deals with the decision-making area, which is an optimal option selected from several options of comparison. Multi-Attribute Decision-Making (MADM) methods are widely applied for making the optimal solution, selecting a single option or ranking choices from the most to the least appropriate. This paper is aimed at providing MADM methods as a component of mathematics-based optimization. The theoretical part of the paper presents evaluation criteria of methods as the objective functions. To illustrate the idea, some of the most frequently used methods in practice—Simple Additive Weighting (SAW), Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS), Complex Proportional Assessment Method (COPRAS), Multi-Objective Optimization by Ratio Analysis (MOORA) and Preference Ranking Organization Method for Enrichment Evaluation (PROMETHEE)—were chosen. These methods use a finite number of explicitly given alternatives. The research literature does not propose the best or most appropriate MADM method for dealing with a specific task. Thus, several techniques are frequently applied in parallel to make the right decision. Each method differs in the data processing, and therefore the results of MADM methods are obtained on different scales. The practical part of this paper demonstrates how to combine the results of several applied methods into a single value. This paper proposes a new approach for evaluating that involves merging the results of all applied MADM methods into a single value, taking into account the suitability of the methods for the task to be solved. Taken as a basis is the fact that if a method is more stable to a minor data change, the greater importance (weight) it has for the merged result. This paper proposes an algorithm for determining the stability of MADM methods by applying the statistical simulation method using a sequence of random numbers from the given distribution. This paper shows the different approaches to normalizing the results of MADM methods. For arranging negative values and making the scales of the results of the methods equal, Weitendorf’s linear normalization and classical and author-proposed transformation techniques have been illustrated in this paper.

Evaluation of student learning in Islamic boarding schools is still limited to the results of exams conducted in writing which can lead to the determination of student achievement using simple criteria, resulting in less than optimal results. In addition, the importance of selecting criteria to suit the learning characteristics of the Islamic boarding school students. The purpose of this study is to assist the process of evaluating student learning based on the value of the criteria, sub-criteria, and priorities. The method used is Rank Order Centroid in assigning weight values ​​to the criteria applied to the Simple Multi-Attribute Rating Technique Exploiting Ranks (SMARTER) and Multi-Objective Optimization By Ratio Analysis (MOORA) methods. This study produces the same alternative value in the first rank. To calculate the accuracy is done by using sensitivity analysis according to the results of preference values ​​in each method. Based on the sensitivity analysis shows that in the first sensitivity calculation the lowest value is obtained. The sensitivity value of the SMARTER method on the first sensitivity is 0.0714. While the first sensitivity value of the MOORA method is 0.0076. So the best method is owned by the MOORA method because it has the lowest sensitivity value.

Seeing the rapid progress of software app. in today's destructive era, the need for software app. is very reliable for industrial progress in the era of the 4.0 generation. Especially in object-oriented software app. The main objective of this research is to measure the technical capabilities of object-based software app. and to find out the process of selecting the best number of app.software in terms of the appropriate price. Many techniques can be developed in object-based software app. such as class implementation, Inheritance, Encapsulation, Polymorphic, Constructor, Accessor, Mutator, Visibility, Overwrite and Overload. This technique is an advantage of object-based software app. Taking advantage of these advantages causes difficulty in selecting and evaluating software. Indeed, it is very difficult to evaluate software products, because they are qualitative. In order for the assessment to be objective, it requires good method collaboration, thus an objective method is needed in the assessment of the selection of a number of program app. The test was carried out with the Multi Objective Optimization by Ratio Analysis (MOORA) method collaborated with the Price-Quality Ration approach. The results obtained are the selection of object-based software app. that can be done optimally and provide efficiency in the benefits and costs incurred.

Effectively distributing scarce resources presents a major challenge for governance in both competitive school admissions and emergency medical triage. The main problem lies in the instability of conventional ranking algorithms, where even small changes in data or the addition of new candidates often lead to rank reversals. This instability undermines the fairness of student admissions and the safety of patient prioritization. To tackle this problem, this study introduces a consistency-preserving Intelligent Decision Support System based on Multi-Objective Optimization by Ratio Analysis (MOORA). Unlike approaches that depend on linear normalization, this framework employs Euclidean vector normalization to successfully separate subjective weights from objective performance values. The proposed model is tested using a high-dimensional dataset of 340 educational applicants and a simulated healthcare triage scenario of similar size. Experimental results show that the framework maintains a ranking consistency correlation above 0.90 with established baselines while achieving a 0.00% rank reversal rate in scenarios with conflicting criteria. These findings confirm that the proposed algorithmic structure provides a mathematically sound and domain-independent logic for critical institutional decision-making.

The purchase of medical equipment is a critical issue that should be planned properly. The selection of the most appropriate vendor impacts time, effort, and expenses. Therefore, the challenge is to strike a balance between the available budget and the required equipment. The study aims to select the best vendor for supplying medical equipment based on Emergency Care Research Institute (ECRI) standards. The multi-criteria decision-making approach has been adopted through three methods; Multi-Objective Optimization by Ratio Analysis (MOORA), Simple Additive Weighting (SAW), and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS). The criteria of selection are divided into general, technical, and financial. The criteria are weighted using three methods: CRITIC, entropy, and expert judgment. The Vendor Evaluation Program for Medical Equipment (VEPME) is designed to automatically select the best vendor. Medical imaging equipment is selected to test the program by four modalities: X-ray equipment, CT, MRI, and ultrasound. The best scenario was given by the entropy-TOPSIS. As a result, this methodology was adopted by the program. The results demonstrate the robustness of the proposed methodology by comparing the VEPME output to expert judgment.

Purpose – In today's competitive global marketplace, performance management has been identified as a key strategic consideration towards achieving an efficient supply chain management. The task of estimating supply chain performance extent is seemed a complex problem entitled with multiple subjective performance measures and metrics; subjected to decision-making environment which involves an inherent vagueness, inconsistency and incompleteness associated with decision-makers (DMs) (expert panel) commitment towards assessment of various subjective (quantitative) evaluation indices. Consequently, it becomes difficult towards making a comparative study on performances of alternative supply chains. It is, therefore, indeed essential to conceptualize and develop an efficient appraisement platform helpful for benchmarking of alternative supply chains based on their performance extent. The paper aims to discuss these issues. Design/methodology/approach – The work explores the concept of grey numbers combined with multi-objective optimization by ratio analysis (MOORA) in perceptive to evaluate best alternative from among available alternative supply chains. Findings – The method has been found fruitful to facilitate such a multi-criteria group decision-making (MCGDM) problem under uncertain environment and provides an appropriate compromise ranking order with respect to available possible alternatives. Originality/value – Supply chain performance appraisement provides necessary means by which an organization can assess whether its supply chain is performing well, whether it has been improved or degraded as compared to the past record. The purpose of this research is to develop and to empirically test a multiple-indices hierarchical appraisement model for benchmarking of supply chain performance and its impact on competitiveness of manufacturing industries.

XYZ University has a scholarship program intended for outstanding students. Determination of recipients of outstanding scholarships is still constrained by the unclear system for determining scholarship recipients. This can affect the fairness of receiving scholarships. Students who really deserve to get a scholarship do not receive the scholarship. The solution to overcome this problem, the researcher came up with an idea in the form of a Multi-Objective Optimization by Ratio Analysis (MOORA) Decision Support System method, with the aim of being able to solve the problem of selecting an objective scholarship acceptance process. The MOORA method was chosen because it can solve the problem with a fairly effective method. After conducting research, it was found that 5 (five) candidates were eligible to receive scholarships for outstanding students, namely Alt7, Alt10, Alt37, Alt49, and Alt35. Furthermore, from the results of this study, it was concluded that students who get achievement scholarships are students with the highest scores from the results of the MOORA method, there is no element of subjectivity.

PurposeThe present study spotlights the single and multicriteria decision-making (MCDM) methods to determine the optimal machining conditions and the predictive modeling for surface roughness (Ra) and cutting tool flank wear (VB) while hard turning of AISI 4340 steel (35 HRC) under dry environment.Design/methodology/approachIn this study, Taguchi L16 design of experiments methodology was chosen. The experiments were performed under dry machining conditions using TiSiN-TiAlN nanolaminate PVD-coated cutting tool on which Taguchi and responses surface methodology (RSM) for single objective optimization and MCDM methods like the multi-objective optimization by ratio analysis (MOORA) were applied to attain optimal set of machining parameters. The predictive models for each response and multiresponse were developed using RSM-based regression analysis. S/N ratios, analysis of variance (ANOVA), Pareto diagram, Tukey's HSD test were carried out on experimental data for profound analysis.FindingsOptimal set of machining parameters were obtained as cutting speed: at 180 m/min., feed rate: 0.05 mm/rev., and depth of cut: 0.15 mm; cutting speed: 145 m/min., feed rate: 0.20 mm/rev. and depth of cut: 0.1 mm for Ra and VB, respectively. ANOVA showed feed rate (96.97%) and cutting speed (58.9%) are dominant factors for Ra and VB, respectively. A remarkable improvement observed in Ra (64.05%) and VB (69.94%) after conducting confirmation tests. The results obtained through the MOORA method showed the optimal set of machining parameters (cutting speed = 180 m/min, feed rate = 0.15 mm/rev and depth of cut = 0.25 mm) for minimizing the Ra and VB.Originality/valueThis work contributes to realistic application for manufacturing industries those dealing with AISI 4340 steel of 35 HRC. The research contribution of present work including the predictive models will provide some useful guidelines in the field of manufacturing, in particular, manufacturing of gear shafts for power transmission, turbine shafts, fasteners, etc.
