Abstract

It is a trend to develop the computerized test nowadays, since the testing process can be cheaper and more efficient than the paper-pencil test. The concern in the measurement community is, although there are many advantages to administrate the test on computers, there is still a potential problem that the computer skills may be a factor to affect student's test scores. This paper checked the unidimensionality of a computerized reading and math test using different methods. It is found that DIMTEST is the most powerful method to detect the multidimensionality and Grade 3 Math is the subject to violate the unidimensionlity assumption. The possible explanation of the results is given in the discussion section.
