Bibliometric Analysis of Artificial Intelligence Studies in Computational Thinking

Introduction. Artificial intelligence (AI) today plays an important role in university education; in that sense, the objective of this research is to analyze the scientific production on AI in university education under a bibliometric review in Scopus and Web of Science (WoS). Method. A bibliometric analysis was carried out, where 895 documents published in journals indexed in the Scopus and WoS databases were analyzed. The terms ‘artificial intelligence’, ‘computational intelligence’, ‘AI’, ‘university education’ and ‘university’ were applied as terms, and the Boolean operators AND and OR were used for both databases. Results. We found 848 documents in Scopus and 48 in WoS. China is the country with the highest scientific production. Brain-Broad Research in Artificial Intelligence, Neuroscience, and Education Science are the journals with the highest number of publications in WoS, while in Scopus they are Journal of Physics Conference and Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing. Regarding the thematic area, it was found that the highest production corresponds to computer science. In terms of affiliation, the authors belong to institutions in China, and the article with the highest number of citations is “Neuropsychological Bases of Self-Improvement of Own Physical Health of Future Teachers in the Course of University Education”. Conclusions. It is necessary to continue research on AI and its implications in university education due to its relevance in the teaching-learning processes and the interdisciplinary innovation that provides tools to reinforce knowledge.

The Holy Quran, hadiths, and fiqh texts are among the primary and secondary sources that are being used to alter the Islamic economic and financial system in accordance with contemporary economic changes. The aim of this study is to evaluate the qualitative output in the field from a bibliometric perspective by examining the academic studies that cover the concept of 'hadith' and are indexed in the economics and finance categories of the Web of Science (WOS) database. As part of the study, a comprehensive literature review, known as a bibliometric mapping analysis, was conducted. The study conducted a bibliometric analysis of all studies that include the term hadith in the WOS database between 1982/01-2023/07 and the studies that fall into the WOS categories (economics, business, business finance). In addition, a content analysis of the articles containing the term hadith in the Web of Science (WOS) database was carried out. As part of the study, the data were categorized using VOSviewer (1.6.18). As a result of the study, it was found that there are a majority of studies that make conceptual evaluations in the field of Hadith and these studies are concentrated on the theological basis. It was found that there are very few studies in the economic and financial category of the Hadith concept and that there is a gap in this area. Therefore, the results of this study will shed light on future studies.

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the significance of publications examining the effectiveness of education methods in the field of anatomy with the method of bibliometric and altmetric analysis, as well as online attention levels. Methods: To search all publications, “Anatomy education” was entered as a search term on the Web of Science database. The topics, journal impact factors, publication years and research centers of the first 100 articles with the highest numbers of citations were examined, and their analysis was conducted with the “Altmetric it on website: http: almetric.com”. Results: Four thousand, three hundred fifty-six articles published in the period of 1975-2019 containing the key phrase “Anatomy education” were found on Web of Science. The study with the highest number of citations was the study published by McLachlan et al. titled “Teaching anatomy without cadavers, 2004”. It was observed that the study titled “The production of anatomical teaching resources using three-dimensional (3D) printing technology, 2014” was the article with the highest rate of sharing on Twitter with the highest altmetric attention score (AAS) value. The AAS rates varied between 130 and 0. Conclusions: Bibliometric and altmetric analysis provides significant but different points of view regarding the effects of an article in the world of science. The altmetrics score may provide contributions in determining the direction of studies regarding the high-level interests and perceptions of the public on dynamic science and the field of medicine.

The importance of computational thinking in the 21st century has been widely acknowledged, with its incorporation into school curricula around the world. However, there is no consensus on the content of computational thinking, which has led to a growing interest in the field. This has necessitated the need for review studies that are expected to provide a clear explanation of the literature and trends in the field. In this context, this study aimed to examine the studies on computational thinking in mathematics education in two dimensions. First, bibliometric analysis was used to provide a general framework of the field. To this end, the Web of Science database was searched, and 194 publications were included in the analysis. The 10 most cited articles were then selected from these publications and content analyzed in terms of their methodological approaches, aims, and results. Through these analyses, research trends were identified. The results of the bibliometric analysis revealed the most frequently used keywords, the most productive countries, the most influential authors, and articles. The results of the content analysis indicate that the most cited articles address the integration of computational thinking into mathematics education in theoretical and applied contexts. It is anticipated that the findings will inform future studies.

The aim of this study was to appraise the bibliometric parameters of pulpotomy in the past 24 years from January 2000 to December 2023. The dataset was obtained from the Web of Science (WoS) database. The filter publication years were applied. The bibliographic details of all types of documents indexed in the WoS database under keywords of "Dental pulp exposure" or "Coronal pulpotomy" or "Partial pulpotomy" or "Permanent pulpotomy" or Pulpectomy published in the targeted period (2000-2023) were downloaded. The bibliometric characteristics such as the type of documents, growth of publications and citations by years, level of evidence, top publication channels, top countries, top contributing organizations, top authors, and keywords were analyzed. MS Excel, VOSviewer, and R were utilized for data analysis. A total of 738 documents were identified, and they were published in 213 sources contributed by 3,017 authors from 75 countries. A fluctuated growth was recorded and the majority of the research (82.12%) was published in the latter half (2012-2023) of the targeted period. Most of the studies utilized the Level of Evidence (LoE) IV but the studies on LoE-I gained the highest average citations. The majority of papers were produced by India, closely followed by Brazil and the United States. Thus,the upward trend in the latter half was suggestive of advancement in oral health education along with enhancementin research publications.

The aim of this research is to perform a bibliometric analysis of published academic studies on “bilingualism” in the category of educational research in the Web of Science (WoS) database. Research titles were searched using the keyword “bilingualism” in all WoS data bases on the Web of Knowledge Web page. In order to reach a holistic interpretation, the study was done to cover the 51-year time period between the years 1970-2021 by starting from the oldest date available in the database. As a result of the search, the bibliometric data of the 1975 academic study was used as the data set of the study. The bibliometric analysis was used as the data analysis technique in the study. The research topics and orientations of the academic publications examined within the scope of the study were visually mapped through the keywords in the publications. Within this direction, WordArt online word cloud software was preferred. The social network analysis of the keywords of the 1975 academic study on bilingualism that is one of the bibliometric analysis tools, was visualized by using the VOSviewer (Version 1.6.16) package program. As a result of the analysis done, the year 2020 was the year with the most publications on bilingualism in the WoS database. In the field, mostly English publications were made. Most of the detected publications are of the article type. The California State University System – USA ranks first as the institution in which the authors publish on bilingualism. Most publications on bilingualism were done in the International Journal of Bilingual Education and Bilingualism. The country with the most publications and the country with the most cooperation network is the USA. It has been determined that concepts such as bilingualism, multilingualism, bilingual education, language policy, language switching, dual literacy, identity, language ideologies, second language acquisition, code change and literacy are used in scientific publications. It is thought that the study draws a broad framework for researchers in the field and contributes to the field.

This study was conducted to perform a bibliometric analysis of research in the field of green accounting. In this context, publications indexed in the Web of Science (WoS) database were examined. As of March 30, 2024, a search was conducted in the WoS database using the keyword “green accounting”, with all WoS Core Collection criteria selected. The search results revealed no studies related to green accounting prior to 1992, while 250 studies were identified between 1992 and 2024. The highest number of publications was recorded in 2013. Among the analyzed studies, economics was found to be the most prominent research field, encompassing 118 publications. In terms of country-based contributions, the United States led the field with 61 studies. The World Bank was identified as the institution contributing the most to green accounting research. Additionally, Nicholas Z. Muller and Robert Mendelsohn were determined to be the most highly cited authors in the field. Furthermore, the study conducted co-authorship, institutional collaboration, and country collaboration network analyses, along with keyword mapping, bibliographic coupling of texts, and co-citation analysis of authors. Based on these analyses, visual mappings were created, and the discussion and conclusions were presented.

Integrated reporting is a relatively new category that has been actively studied over the last decade. The study ofpublishing activity on integrated reporting allows to form general trends in the thematic focus of existing publications,in particular, in their chronological presentation. The article reviews the scientific literature on integrated reportingbased on the analysis of the most cited publications from the Scopus, Web of Science and Google Scholar databases.Analysis of the bibliometric landscape of publications on integrated reporting involves the study of publishingactivity in terms of the most cited authors and publications on selected topics, determining the chronological specificsof publications on selected topics by keywords.For this purpose, publications were sorted by Scopus, Web of Science and Google Scholar databases by keywords“integrated reporting” with their use in publications in article titles, abstracts, and keywords. Through the in-builtbibliographic analysis tools of the Scopus and Web of Science databases, as well as the Publish or Perish software (forthe Google Scholar database), these publications were imported for further bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer.Systematization of thematic orientation of publications on integrated reporting by keywords, in particular theirchronological analysis is implemented by clustering using VOSviewer software by building a bibliometric map of thepublication based on Scopus and Web of Science databases.The results of the analysis show that integrated reporting is a relatively new scientific category that has beenactively studied for the last ten years. The chronological representation of the bibliometric landscape of publications inrecent years shows that the most relevant are studies in the field of integrated reporting, related to the study of itsquality; connection with the Sustainable Development Goals; formation of the value of the firm, etc.

Sustainable architecture is becoming increasingly important today, and designs that take into account environmental conditions come to the fore, especially in the life cycle of the existing building stock and in the processes of building new buildings. The principles of sustainable architecture aim to produce buildings that cause the least damage to the environment and consume the least amount of natural resources, minimize the damage to the environment in the existing building stock, and provide sustainable qualities through renovation processes. Not demolishing the existing building stock, not destroying the energy embedded in buildings, not creating waste, and not harming the environment is a sustainable architectural approach. In addition, by renovating buildings to increase their sustainable quality, they are made more sensitive to the environment. This study aims to evaluate the publications on sustainable building renovation by bibliometric analysis method. Within the scope of the study, data obtained from the Web of Science (WoS) database were used. The study retrieved 1058 publications published between 2001 and 2024 from the Web of Science database on November 17, 2024. The data obtained as a result of bibliometric analysis were created visual network maps using the VOSviewer program. This study emphasizes the importance of sustainable renovation of buildings and efficient consumption of resources within the scope of sustainable development. Within the scope of the study, quantitative data on the development of the subject in the world in line with the bibliometric analysis method are included. In this direction, suggestions have been developed on what needs to be done to increase sustainable building renovation studies.

This study aims to review the articles published in journals indexed in the Web of Science (WoS) database on smart tourism destination (STD) using the bibliometric analysis technique. In line with this main purpose, the annual number of STD articles, WoS categories, and indexes, most productive countries, country collaborations, most productive institutions, co-citation network of journals, most cited articles, and authors, co-citation network of authors, and most used author keywords were analysed. The WoS database was scanned between the 1975- December 2021 period and 70 articles were found. CiteSpace 5.8.R3 bibliometric data analysis software was used in the analysis. The results obtained from the analysis show that the first article on STD in the WoS database journals was published in 2013. However, it has been determined that Spain is the leading country in the world in terms of article productivity, country collaboration, and centrality. Most of the STD articles have been published in the SSCI- indexed journals and hospitality leisure sport tourism category. According to other results, the most productive institution is Universidad de Alicante, the most cited article is published by Boes et al., titled “Smart Tourism Destinations: Ecosystems for Tourism Destination Competitiveness” and the author with the highest co-citation count is Ulrike Gretzel. With this study, the current situation and emerging trends in the STD literature are revealed and a research guide for future studies is formed.

This paper presents a bibliometric overview of the publications in the principal international journal Process Safety and Environmental Protection (PSEP) from 1990 to 2020 retrieved in the Web of Science (WoS) database to explore the evolution in safety and environmental engineering design and practice, as well as experimental or theoretical innovative research. Therefore, based on the WoS database and the visualization of similarities (VOS) viewer software, the bibliometric analysis and scientometric mapping of the literature have been performed from the perspectives of document types, publication and citation distribution over time, leading authors, countries (regions), institutions, the corresponding collaboration networks, most cited publications and references, focused research fields and topics, research trend evolution over time, etc. The paper provides a comprehensive and quantitative overview and significant picture representation for the journal’s leading and evolutionary trends by employing specific aforementioned bibliometric analysis factors. In addition, by reviewing the evolutionary trends of the journal and the proposed investigated factors, such as the influential works, main research topics, and the research frontiers, this paper reveals the scientific literature production’s main research objectives and directions that could be addressed and explored in future studies.

The International Journal of LCA recently published two articles that highlight life cycle assessment (LCA) research worldwide: Chen et al. (Int J Life Cycle Assess 19(10):1674–1685, 2014) and Hou et al. (Int J Life Cycle Assess 20(4):541–555, 2015). Both research papers conducted a bibliometric analysis using the Web of Science (WoS) database and ranked scientific journals and research institutions according to publication performances based on article counts and citation analysis. The expected outcome of this work is to contribute to a better map of global scientific LCA research— a vital tool in the field. However, the methodology used to retrieve the publications showed that many key LCA research articles were not taken into account in the surveyed literature and revealed inconsistencies related to author affiliation. By studying their research outputs, significant insights have been gained into ways to improve the indexing of scientific papers and, in turn, help researchers better disseminate and communicate their findings and overcome ranking bias.

In recent years, career education has been an important topic for research due to its impact on student's personal development, especially on their decision-making and future employability. The need for present education systems to revamp themselves to suit the needs at different levels from adult education, higher education, schools, and various fields of research. However, there is much to be described in the body of knowledge from the perspective of bibliometric analysis. This article examines the term ‘career education from the Web of Science (WoS) database between the years 2018 and 2021. The bibliometric analysis results have indicated the trends of career education as data is scooped up from the Web of Science database. In terms of selective content analysis on highly cited articles, this section will discuss the trends of career education in higher education, in schools, in adult education, and the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. There will also be some discussions on limitations and challenges in career education and some future suggestions for research.

The research outlines the computational thinking process that prospective mathematics teachers use to solve PISA model problems. The Department of Mathematics Education conducted the research on 32 students in the Basic Mathematics course. This qualitative approach research used research instrument such as a computational thinking skill test and interview guidelines. The researchers grouped students into low, medium, and high ability categories based on previous tests. The researchers took as many informants as possible from each category using purposive sampling techniques. The applied technical data analysis included data reduction, presentation, and conclusions. The computational thinking process consisted of orientation, abstraction, decomposition, algorithms, and evaluation. The study provided several results, including high- and medium-category students being able to write information at the orientation and algorithm stages. The difference between the computational thinking processes of low- and medium-category students lies in the orientation stage and algorithms. Low-category students had to be more detailed in recording every step of the problem-solving process, as they could not write down all the primary information and problems. Those three lied in the orientation stage, the process of identifying information, and the key problems at the orientation stage as an early and important aspect of the computational thinking process. This research facilitates teachers improve students' computational thinking in solving high-level problems. Purpose This study presents a systematic literature review of halal food (HF) customer behaviour using the Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) databases. This study aims to identify trends, methodologies, theoretical developments and determinants of HF customer behaviour in Indonesia and Malaysia, as well as potential future research directions. Design/methodology/approach This study extends the bibliometric and systematic literature review covering all variables in customers purchasing HF by extracting the Scopus and WoS databases. We used the SLR method via the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) model. A total of 43 samples related to customer behaviour towards HF articles were identified and reviewed. Findings This study found 43 articles discussing variables or factors that influence consumers’ behaviour towards HF in Indonesia and Malaysia. Quantitative methods and extended TPB theory are most widely used to measure the determinants of customer behaviour towards HFs. Religiosity, attitude, halal awareness and trust are the most dominant factors that significantly influence customer behaviour towards HF. This study suggests several potential future research directions. Research limitations/implications The HF industry, marketers and governments in Indonesia and Malaysia must ensure that their products meet consumer expectations by implementing halalan thayyiban and strengthening HF marketing strategies based on halal-labelled food. Originality/value This study is the first to examine the factors determining customer behaviour towards HF in Indonesia and Malaysia using a systematic literature review method from Scopus and the WoS database.
