Abstract

Abstract The bending of a thin elastic plate Ω [‐ho/2, ho/2] with bounded Ω ⊂ ℛ under transverse shear forces can be described by boundary value problems for a vector partial differential operator. The Dirichlet‐ and Neumann problems can be reformulated as a 3 × 3 system of boundary integral equations over δΩ. We study the integral operators and their singularities and investigate the Nyström method for the numerical solution of the boundary integral equations.
