Burnout is a state of emotional, physical, and psychological exhaustion that occurs as a result of chronic stress at work. In the production sphere, it manifests itself especially acutely due to monotony, physical exertion and the influence of harmful factors. The theoretical foundations of professional burnout are: – Emotional exhaustion – a feeling of fatigue, emptiness. – Depersonalization – cynicism, indifference to colleagues and work. – Decreased personal achievements – loss of confidence, motivation. The stages of development of professional burnout are as follows: 1. Enthusiasm → 2. Fatigue → 3. Exhaustion → 4. Depersonalization → 5. Decrease in achievements. Main symptoms: – Emotional – apathy, irritability, anxiety. – Physical – fatigue, headaches, insomnia. – Cognitive – decreased concentration. – Behavioral – procrastination, isolation. Factors contributing to burnout: – Individual – perfectionism, low self-esteem, lack of work-life balance. – Organizational – excessive workload, unfair remuneration, poor communication. – Social – isolation, pressure from society to succeed. Burnout in the production sector has the following negative consequences: exhaustion, loss of interest, health problems. For the enterprise, this means staff turnover, a decrease in product quality and an increase in injuries, financial losses. The most relevant methods for diagnosing burnout are as follows: individual interviews; observation of employee behavior; analysis of productivity and frequency of sick leave. Of particular note is the Maslach questionnaire (MBI): (Diagnosis of professional burnout. Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) is one of the most recognized and widely used methods for measuring burnout syndrome in employees of various professional groups and industries. This technique was developed by K. Maslach and S. Jackson in 1981 and tested by a large number of studies confirming its reliability and validity). Professional burnout is a serious threat to the well-being of employees and production efficiency. A systematic approach is needed: diagnosis, prevention, support and a culture of mutual respect. Despite a significant amount of research on professional burnout, there are still a number of issues that require further study, including: – study of the long-term consequences of professional burnout for the physical and mental health of workers; – development and testing of new, more effective prevention and intervention programs adapted to the specifics of different industries; – studying the impact of new technologies and automation on the level of professional burnout of workers; – research on the role of leadership and corporate culture in preventing and overcoming burnout at work.
