Abstract

In [1], Cockcroft and Swan proved that homotopy equivalent projective (free) complexes can be stabilized by projective (free) modules to the chain equivalence and applied this result to the investigation of the homotopy types of nonsimply connected two-dimensional CW-complexes. In [2], the author established necessary and sufficient conditions for the stabilization of n-dimensional chain complexes composed of finitely generated projective modules by free modules to the chain equivalence. In the monograph [3], Sharko proved an analog of the Cockcroft–Swan theorem for free crossed chain complexes. In 2011, Brown, Higgins, and Sivera published a book [4] in which they gave a comprehensive presentation of the principal contemporary achievements in the field of non-Abelian algebraic topology. They also considered all basic notions used in the present paper. Our aim is to prove an analog of the Cockcroft–Swan theorem for projective crossed chain complexes.
