Abstract

This paper presents a systematic review of modeling approaches for magnetic materials using the Partial Element Equivalent Circuit (PEEC) formulation, with particular emphasis on comparing equivalent physical models, system equations, and numerical characteristics. Based on the Coulombian-PEEC (C-PEEC) formulation, we conduct a comprehensive comparative analysis of the system matrix's convergence behavior across three discretized magnetic source representations: magnetization current density, magnetic flux density, and magnetic field. The comparison of numerical results shows that among these three discrete strategies, using magnetization current density as the equivalent source can significantly improve the condition number of the system matrix and enhance the numerical stability of the solution.
