Conclusions and Outlook

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) belongs to a new trend in technology in which tiny and resource constrained devices are wirelessly interconnected and are able to interact with the surrounding environment by collecting data such as temperature and humidity. Recently, due to the huge growth in the use of mobile devices with Internet connection, smartphones are becoming the center of future ubiquitous wireless networks. Interconnecting WSNs with smartphones and the Internet is a big challenge and new architectures are required due to the heterogeneity of these devices. Taking into account that people are using smartphones with Internet connection, there is a good opportunity to propose a new architecture for wireless sensors monitoring using push notifications and smartphones. Then, this paper proposes a ubiquitous approach for WSN monitoring based on a REST Web Service, a relational database, and an Android mobile application. Real-time data sensed by WSNs are sent directly to a smartphone or stored in a database and requested by the mobile application using a well-defined RESTful interface. A push notification system was created in order to alert mobile users when a sensor parameter overcomes a given threshold. The proposed architecture and mobile application were evaluated and validated using a laboratory WSN testbed and are ready for use.

Pneumatic instruments have coped with new industries and new trend of technology. Hereinafter, express the flexible pneumatic instruments as “Smart Pneumatics”. Explain “Smart Pneumatics” through pneumatics relating semiconductor, i.e., pneumatics for clean room.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a new trend in technology that is already changing the world in which we live by interconnecting physical objects that can collect or transmit information to us and to each other. In this paper, an application of the use of the IoT is presented by the development of a semi-autonomous utility vehicle using off-the-shelf home automation (smart) components. The system is composed of hardware and software elements that are integrated into a self-propelled scaled down version of an off-road vehicle, a lawn mower. A Web application was built and enabled for Android devices to command and control the vehicle, various applets in the application were enabled to be triggered using the Alexa voice service and an Amazon Tap speaker. The vehicle can be controlled through voice commands and is capable of moving in four directions at five different speeds. It is able to move at an average velocity of 35.7 m/min among its five speeds on vinyl floor, and at an average velocity of 20.8 m/min and 16.3 m/min on concrete and grass, respectively. The ultrasonic sensors installed on the vehicle proved their reliability by stopping the vehicle at an average distance of 7.3 cm away from different obstacles. This paper contributes to existing knowledge on the IoT by providing a demonstration of a semi-autonomous vehicle capable of cloud-based control both with voice commands and through a Web app.

The latest technology, which comes like storm, gives us extra help in revealing the unseen that is beyond our reach and touch the untouchable in our hands. The technology gives us potential to do things we haven’t been able to do before. One of the greatest challenges to the classrooms of today is mobile technology. As teachers, it’s our job to make sure that students who are considered as digital natives learn through the omnipresence of the mainstream media. The world around us is changing in terms of communication and interaction that affect the way people see, think and learn the present environment, and connect with others. In education, we have three options when dealing with these changes: avoid it, struggle with it, or embrace it. It is our duty to prepare and adjust the classroom of today ready for tomorrow. When it investigated at the industrialization processes in the world economy, it is seen that while the industrial sector in economies passes to a different stage with the development of production techniques, resources are directed to the production of new products with the differentiation in the products produced. In the development process of the world economy, the Taylor Production System, the Fordist Production System, the Post-Fordist Production System express the reflections of technical change in production on production. In a sense, the change in production knowledge has also brought about the change in production techniques. While the change in the process of change in production knowledge in the industrialization process brought about the change in production techniques, the industry also brought about the change in the product range. With the support of the increase in R&D activity, under the influence of new trends in technology, previously non-existent industrial sub-sectors have emerged. At this point, while the production knowledge changes in the industrial sector, the change in production techniques and product variety is analyzed.

Since e-Government is a nascent academic field, its structure is still evolving. While initial emphases wither, new directions of practice and research are forming. Whereas some new trends in technology and management cut across existing perspectives, other new topics such as mobile Government may have the potential to become a subfield in their own right. Furthermore, the research foundations of the field still need to be spelled out more explicitly and rigorously. Many scholars propose multi-method designs in e-Government research, and also more multi- and interdisciplinary approaches, for which even beyond e-Government accepted standards and procedures still need initial grounding and further development. More new topics and trends are likely to emerge in e-Government, for which it may be difficult to locate a nurturing home at one of the existing minitracks within the e-Gov Track at HICSS. Therefore, this minitrack provides a home for incubating those new topics and trends. This year, we are launching the new minitrack with one session and three papers: The first paper under the title of “Multi-Method Approaches to Digital Government Research: Value Lessons and Implementation,” co-authored by J. Ramon Gil-Garcia and Theresa A. Pardo (University at Albany/SUNY), makes the case for multi-method designs when studying e-Government phenomena, which the authors argue are complex and multifaceted in nature. The high complexity defies single-method approaches rendering results from single-method research unsatisfactory at best. With two case studies the authors document a multi-method approach and the lessons learned from employing this approach. Gil-Garcia and Pardo illustrate the effectiveness of multi-method approaches in e-Government research and conclude that those designs hold the promise of a higher explanatory power of the research results. In the second paper, entitled “Infusing an Architectural Framework with Neo-institutional Theory: Reports from recent change management initiatives within the Swedish Public Administration” is co-authored by Johan Magnusson and Andreas Nilsson of the Gothenburg School of Business, Economics, and Commercial Law. The authors invoke neoinstitutional theory as an analytical lens for understanding the governmental environment, in which organizational change is supposed to take place. Using that theoretical lens, they augment an already existing architectural framework used in technology-induced change management project with that theory. The study analyzes 13 cases in Swedish government. Although results were mixed, the authors found the use of neo-institutional theory informative and helpful within a governmental organizational setting. The third paper, entitled “Can Government be a good eBayer? The Use of Online Auctions in the Sale of Surplus Property” by Enrico Ferro of the Istituto Superiore Mario Boellla, Turin, Italy, and Lucy Dadyan of the College of Computing and Information at SUNY/Albany, presents the case and discusses the experiences of online auctions conducted by the State of New York over three years. The paper concludes that the online auctions observed were highly outcome and cost effective. Also, the employee incentive structure crafted after the private sector model was found instrumental in attaining high customer service and satisfaction levels.

Teaching Young Adult Literature Today introduces the reader to what is current and relevant in the plethora of good books available for adolescents. More importantly, literary experts illustrate how teachers everywhere can help their students become lifelong readers by simply introducing them to great reads—smart, insightful, and engaging books that are specifically written for adolescents. Hayn, Kaplan, and their contributors address a wide range of topics: how to avoid common obstacles to using YAL; selecting quality YAL for classrooms while balancing these with curriculum requirements; engaging disenfranchised readers; pairing YAL with technology as an innovative way to teach curriculum standards across all content areas. Contributors also discuss more theoretical subjects, such as the absence of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) young adult literature in secondary classrooms; and contemporary YAL that responds to the changing expectations of digital generation readers who want to blur the boundaries between page and screen. This book has been updated to reflect the wealth of new YA literature that has been published since the first edition appeared in March 2012, and to reflect new trends in technology that influences how adolescents are reading and responding to literature.

The relevance of the study of creative tourism is that it acts as a socio-cultural phenomenon and an effective technology that formulates the basic principles and approaches to building a modern socio-cultural tourism process. Creative tourism necessarily forms information specialists (data specialists) in tourism, who are effective employees of tourist offices with creative technologies. The purpose of the study: conceptualization of tourism as an effective technology and socio-cultural phenomenon. Objectives of the study: 1) to form a model of communication trends of creative tourism, implemented through the media and advertising companies travel agencies; 2) to find out the modern components of the development of the model of communication trends in the development of creative tourism in the era of man-made civilization; 3) to reveal new trends in technology in the development of creative tourism as a socio-cultural phenomenon and effective technology; 4) to form the concept of improving communication trends in the development of Data Science in the digital transformation of society; 5) to reveal the essence and directions of self-realization of the individual in the field of tourism as a socio-cultural process. The methodological basis of the study is determined by a set of philosophical, special and general scientific methods, including axiological, activity, cognitive, institutional, structural-functional, dialectical, synergetic, systemic, historical-comparative, logical-historical, anthropological. The result of the study. A significant advantage of the concept of creative tourism is that it is designed to become an arena of spiritual self-improvement of people, as in tourism a person embodies the highest values ​​created by civilization, acts as a factor of integration of societies and cultures. Areas of improvement of communication trends in the development of creative tourism - is to meet human needs, which includes the basic principles and approaches to building modern tourism strategies, the development of creative potential of the individual as a subject of information and innovation society.

ＣＡ貯蔵の新技術動向とＭＡＳＣＡ

Last-Mile delivery has attracted considerable interest from the logistics suppliers and retail industry in the last few years. New technologies and approaches are being discussed both professional and academic side. The trend of new technologies developed for transportation will not stop and the reason is not hard to explain: The increase of online commerce and app-based ordering of almost everything from books to food, requires a large capacity, speed, and flexibility. Following the importance of last-mile delivery, this paper intends to investigate the expectations of consumers and parcel logistics provides regarding last- mile delivery. To do so, we conducted a literature review of last-mile to identify the main gaps found in the literature so far, aiming to extend the current literature. Our results showed that advances in last-mile delivery will depend on the capacity of logistics parcel services and consumers to align their expectations.

Rapidly developing information and telecommunication technologies and their platforms in the late 20th Century helped improve urban infrastructure management and influenced quality of life. Telecommunication technologies make it possible for people to deliver text, audio and video material using wired, wireless or fiber-optic networks. Technologies convergence amongst these digital devices continues to create new ways in which the information and telecommunication technologies are used. The 21st Century is an era where information has converged, in which people are able to access a variety of services, including internet and location based services, through multi-functional devices such as mobile phones. This chapter discusses the recent developments in telecommunication networks and trends in convergence technologies, their implications for urban infrastructure planning, and for the quality of life of urban residents.

The concept of "new consumer sovereignty" is playing a significant role in having the initiative of production and consumption of technology and culture trend. Today the 'new consumers' positively use digital and information technology in purchasing. To understand these consumers' new purchase tendency, the study examined the actual conditions 1) of consumers' use of digital and information technology, 2) of digital devide between consumers, and 3) the consumer's attitude to changes of their lifestyle which digital convergence could result in. The subjects were thousand male and female adults. The data were collected from a survey conducted by Embrain, a research firm in Seoul, in the period of June 1st, 2007 <TEX>${\sim}$</TEX> June 10th, 2007. The results show: 1. Most subjects have computers, their Internet use is their general life, and they have lots of exposure opportunities to digital information. They positively and actively use information technology. 2. Between male and female subjects, and between old and young generation there is a significant digital gap. But the gap between regional areas is statistically not significant. 3. The subject's attitude to digital convergence society shows both positive expectation and negative concerns. Concludingly, to embody a desirable digital convergence society, it is necessary to be searched the ways which can decrease the digital gap and policy to share benefit that information technology can give to consumers.

These advanced tools diversify teaching methods and prepare students for a tech-driven industry. Personalized graphic design represents a shift in information art, driven by emotional and technological convergence. It extends beyond visual content to include material and media selection, inspired by individual differences. Technology becomes crucial for expressing unique identities and fostering deeper consumer engagement. The research highlights the need to align educational practices with industry need, emphasizing image literacy and personalized learning platforms.

Modern Industrial Control Systems (ICS) rely on enterprise to plant floor connectivity. Where the size, diversity, and therefore complexity of ICS increase, operational requirements, goals, and challenges defined by users across various sub-systems follow. Recent trends in Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) convergence may cause operators to lose a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end data flow requirements. This presents a risk to system security and resilience. Sensors were once solely applied for operational process use, but now act as inputs supporting a diverse set of organisational requirements. If these are not fully understood, incomplete risk assessment, and inappropriate implementation of security controls could occur. In search of a solution, operators may turn to standards and guidelines. This paper reviews popular standards and guidelines, prior to the presentation of a case study and conceptual tool, highlighting the importance of data flows, critical data processing points, and system-to-user relationships. The proposed approach forms a basis for risk assessment and security control implementation, aiding the evolution of ICS security and resilience.
