Construction of Geographic Information Spatial Analysis System Based on BIM Technology

The importance of technical disclosure in construction of project is described and the necessity of application of BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology used in technical disclosure is analyzed correspondingly. Many actual cases of technical disclosure in construction used BIM technology in our company with its application are discussed subsequently. The results show that the BIM technology can simplify the procedures of technical disclosure on the construction phase, and multi-software work together based on BIM provides a guidance for different types of projects. Many advantages of BIM such as construction simulation, 3D roaming can improve the quality of technical disclosure. Finally, recommendations and requirements for the specific implementation of BIM on the construction phase are proposed: the BIM model for technical disclosure is the most unique model in the entire life cycle; the locally refined extent is much more than the final completion model, which should be paid more attention to in the whole process of program development when BIM implemented.

The traditional two-dimensional planar model can not fully express the three-dimensional building, construction projects on the efficient application of BIM(building information modeling) technology is the key to the development of the construction industry. Therefore, with the wide BIM technology in the construction industry, training personnel with the ability to apply BIM technology has become a challenge in the field of education. This study aims to conduct an in-depth research on the cultivation of applied talent in BIM technology by exploring the second course mode based on interest groups, without disrupting the teaching order of the first classroom, constructing an optimal course development mode, compensating for the shortcomings of the first classroom, which enables colleges and universities to effectively cultivate BIM technology applied talent in new engineering disciplines and innovation in practical education.

Building information modeling (BIM) technologies use precise geometry and relevant data to enhance and improve the maintenance performance of facilities integrated with 3D object-oriented computer aided design (CAD). Although most owners agree on the potential benefits of integrating BIM technologies with facility management (FM), they must overcome many problems to plan and develop effective BIM execution plans for FM implementation. This study proposes and develops a BIM execution plan for BIM model management for FM during the pre-operation phase. Through the application of the proposed BIM execution plan, BIM can be effectively implemented during the operation and maintenance phases. In order to verify the proposed methodology and demonstrate its effectiveness in practice, the BIM execution plan is then applied in a selected case study of a building project in Taiwan. The combined results demonstrate that the proposed BIM execution plan is an effective approach for operation and maintenance management. The advantage of the proposed BIM execution plan lies not only in improving the efficiency of maintenance management work when integrated with BIM technologies, but also in maximizing the value and benefits of BIM to support maintenance management. Finally, limitations, difficulties, and suggestions are summarized for further development of the BIM execution plan for BIM model management during the pre-operation phase.

The use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology has facilitated storage and reuse of information throughout the lifecycle of construction projects. Despite its benefits, construction industry has witnessed several obstacles in adopting BIM technology in terms of people management. This paper investigates how ADKAR model (an acronym for five stages of effective lasting people change: awareness, desire, knowledge, ability, and reinforcement) can contribute to successful adoption of BIM in construction sector. This study was conducted in two main stages: a rigorous literature review process followed by data collection using eight in-depth interviews with construction project managers. Data was analyzed following Bryman and Bell’s [(2007). Business Research Methods. Oxford: Oxford University Press] steps for thematic analysis. The results from interviews combined with results of literature review contribute to the development of an integrated conceptual model of change management. The conceptual model identifies two main phases of determinants for successful change management process towards the adoption of BIM technology using ADKAR model. Firstly, engineers as designers with different specialist (i.e., architectural, civil, electrical, mechanical), engineers as contractors, and clients require the enhancement of all five dimensions of ADKAR for a lasting change. Secondly, government requires the enhancement of three main dimensions of ADKAR model, namely awareness, desire, and reinforcement.

Introduction. The article focuses on the problems and prospects of building information modelling (BIM) technologies development in the construction industry of the country, valid development strategies, BIM technologies implementation and influence in the construction industry. It has been proved that creation of a digital twin of a construction facility at the design stage ensures its efficient management at the construction as well as operational stages. By studying BIM technologies legal regulation framework the possibilities of their use by the construction organisations have been outlined. The stages of the capital construction facilities life cycle have been defined, the categories of companies using BIM technologies in designing and construction practices have been specified. The aim of the study is to identify the problems hindering implementation of information modeling technologies in the construction industry of the Russian Federation and to propose solutions through automation of all processes at different stages of the capital construction facility life cycle.Materials and Methods. There are plenty of factors directly and indirectly affecting the time period of BIM implementation in the construction industry: the role of the state, the existing construction philosophy and many others. Considerable progress can be observed in the Scandinavian countries, in Netherlands, Germany, Singapore, France. The leading positions belong to the USA and Great Britain. But even in these countries it would be wrong to speak about complete implementation of BIM in the construction industry. In the Russian Federation the UK experience of BIM technologies implementation in the construction industry is used. For the UK authorities the main outcome of the information technologies implementation is maximum transparency of budget spending and control of construction costs. Therefore, all state construction projects are executed using the information modeling technologies. Russia has partly adopted the foreign countries experience in its construction industry – according to the Government Regulation No. 331 the design of all capital buildings and structures under the federal and regional orders must be carried out using an information model; and the package of materials to be included into an information model and general rules for its formation are regulated by the Russian Federation Government Regulation No. 1431, put into effect earlier.Results. In the Russian Federation the implementation of BIM technologies in the construction industry is regulated by the following regulatory documents: the Urban Planning Code of the Russian Federation, the Russian Federation Government Regulations, National Standards of the Russian Federation (GOST) and Codes of Practices (SP), Methodological Guidelines and Requirements for the State Expert Appraisal of Design Documentation and assessment of the information model. One should refer to the regulatory documents available on the official websites such as websites of the National Association of Organisations in the field of Information Modelling Technology (NOTIM), National Designers and Surveyors Association (NOPRIZ), as well as the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation (Minstroy of Russia). On the whole BIM technologies in Russia are underdeveloped. BIM technologies are practically not used at the stages of construction and operation.Discussion and Conclusions. Building information modeling is more than just a new way of designing. This is a fundamentally different view on the facility life cycle management (building, installation of equipment, operation and maintenance and repairs). BIM technologies implementation in the construction sector is a long and controversial process. Sufficient time is required to optimise and set up the information technologies application in all areas of construction and operation. This work resulted in working through and finding solutions to the main problems of implementing the information modeling in construction: as follows from the foreign countries experience the acceleration of BIM technologies implementation in Russia should begin with strengthening the legislative framework via drawing up the national standards and technical regulations upon the initiative of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation.

This paper presents a study on the application of BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology based on CDM (Component Data Model) theory in the design stage of precast concrete structures from three aspects of standard formulation, designing by filling numbers and software development, which is used to solve the problem that IFC（Industry Foundation Classes) cannot be implemented in the traditional mode. BIM technology, with its advantages of visualization, parameterization and integration, is widely used in the full life-cycle of prefabricated buildings. Initially, this paper analyzes the disadvantages of traditional BIM technology based on IFC format, such as the defect in developing IFC plug-ins and low data interaction efficiency for the lost of a large amount of data in the model. Then the process of BIM technology based on CDM theory is introduced for the design stage of precast concrete structures and from the comparative analysis of CDM theory and IFC theory, we can find that CDM theory can break the data island in the process of project design and improve the efficiency of data interaction among each BIM software. Finally, the feasibility of the proposed technical route is verified by a practical prefabricated engineering case, and this method can be universally applied to the full life-cycle management of the project construction.

BIM (Building Information Modeling) is a new radically different emerging approach to design, construction and facilities management. BIM promises to better facilitate the building development, construction and building operation. In this thesis the domain of small architectural practices is considered and how BIM can be implemented to address the problems both of operational and product efficiency and effectiveness.

\nResearch has indicated that guidance on how small architectural practices should implement BIM is lacking (Jung et al 2010). This lack of guidance is one of the reasons why small architectural practices are disinclined to adopt BIM. There is a growing need for more knowledge on how BIM technology and processes can be and should be adopted and what happens when BIM technologies and processes are implemented and used in the practice of architecture.

\nThe aim of this thesis is to develop a BIM implementation strategy framework for small architectural practices.
\n
\nTo identify of the problems and issues of BIM implementation in a small architectural practice, a two years of case study using action research was undertaken. This involved instigating, participating and observing the implementation of BIM within a small architectural practice. Both the internal and external benefits to the architectural practice were considered. The findings of this BIM implementation research were then recorded and reviewed providing a structured approach to BIM implementation. From this process of review and reflection a revised improved framework and suggested methods for BIM adoption was developed and documented. At each stage of the BIM implementation recommendations are made.

\nThe research was undertaken as part of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership between the University of Salford, John McCall Architects (a small architectural practice) and the researcher and author of this thesis. Though being actively involved in the BIM implementation it was possible to understand the issues and document the actions that were taken as part of the BIM adoption. The major limitation of this research is the focus on a single company as the source of evidence and research.

\nThis enhanced BIM implementation framework and the suggested working methods represents the primary contribution to knowledge made by this thesis. This framework should be of value to other small architectural practices embarking on BIM implementation.

In this paper, BIM (Building Information Model Building Information Modeling) technology is taken as the research object, and the development of BIM technology into the construction technology is the core. The emphasis is on applying BIM throughout the building’s life cycle. Starting with the concept and main content of BIM technology, this paper analyzes the control and promotion function of BIM technology for quality, schedule, cost and safety in the whole life span of the building. In this paper, the characteristics of completeness, relevance and consistency of BIM model information are briefly described, and the bottleneck problem of informatization in construction field is also solved. This paper discusses the application of BIM in engineering projects, and expounds the application value of BIM from the aspects of construction cost, quality, schedule, safety, information management, etc.

A comparative analysis of resource management elements between PC (Prefabricated Concrete) structure and traditional cast-in-place structure was carried out firstly. Based on BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology, the resource management elements such as labour, materials and machinery for PC building were analyzed detailedly. It was shown that the dynamic and rational allocation of labour in the narrow work plan for PC building can be realized by the labour deployment method proposed in this paper; the adjustment time of the inclined bracing system for PC building can be reduced to a large extent by the this turnover method proposed in this paper; and the problem of arrangement and selection of tower crane for PC building can be solved by the analysis method of tower crane proposed in this paper.

The role of airports in urban transportation infrastructure development is becoming increasingly prominent, and the number of construction projects for airport terminal expansion is gradually rising in China. Common characteristics of airport expansion construction projects include multiple participating contractors, large‐scale investments, non‐suspending operations, tight schedules, and challenging progress management. The application of traditional information exchange and management methods has shown its limitations. The emergence and development of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology provides a platform and new perspectives for the design, green construction, and operation and maintenance (O&M) management of terminal expansion projects. This project relies on the Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport (JCIA) terminal expansion project, applying BIM and digital simulation technology to the construction phase of the project, promoting the organic integration of project design and construction, ensuring project quality and the safety of non‐stop construction, improving management efficiency, and shortening the construction period. Practice has proven that BIM technology effectively solves the safety pressure of nonstop construction in airport renovation and expansion projects, and can provide reference and guidance for large‐scale public building renovation and expansion projects.

Shanghai Disaster Tolerance Center (SDTC) is the first case led by owner to apply the building information model (BIM) technology in the life cycle engineering construction of the center. BIM technology is applied in construction, operation and maintenance of SDTC to guarantee the quality management performance of construction, improve the efficiency of design, construction, operation and maintenance of the SDTC.

Recently, more and more attention has been paid to the application of BIM (building information model) technology in the engineering field.Most well-known domestic and Design Institute to establish a BIM team.Meanwhile, many large-scale projects also incorporate BIM technology for construction and management, This technology is the construction industry led to a major change.The impact of BIM technology on the cost consulting industry in China is still in the embryonic stage.But with the continuous improvement and development of BIM Technology, it will gradually be involved in the whole life cycle of the project.Including the design, budget, construction and post evaluation stage, This article will be focused on the impact of BIM technology innovation and engineering cost fields were discussed and analyzed.

One of the directions of the economic development of the state is the construction industry, in which the issues of labor protection and improving safety are extremely acute, since its effective growth depends on the solution of this issue. With the development of scientific and technological progress, as well as digital technologies, the question of the possible application of this area in matters of ensuring the safety of production processes becomes relevant. Today, in the construction industry, BIM technologies are actively being used. BIM (Building Information Modeling) - Building information modeling is the process of creating an integrated model of the future construction project, which includes all stages of the life cycle of the project from the design stage to the dismantling stage. BIM technology is the very tool that shows how to improve the interaction of all project participants. BIM is based on a three-dimensional information model. The information model of the building means obtaining full information about the future construction site according to the most popular sections of the design documentation. This technology is a universal information platform that allows you to integrate various software modules into the BIM model of investment and construction projects. Thanks to this approach, it became possible to digitize construction production while monitoring the safety of work, as well as labor protection using a risk-oriented approach. Considering the application of this technology and the result, it can be seen that all research is aimed mainly at the work of designers. However, if we consider BIM technology as an information platform (base) on which new software products (complexes) can be superimposed, then we can create a qualitatively different approach in the application of this technology. In particular, it is possible to review the approach to the assessment of industrial safety and labor protection, in another perspective to approach the scheduling of construction schedules, consider the possibility of applying such programs in the assessment of construction and installation risks during the implementation of the investment and construction project. The article discusses 3D modeling of objects, such as a construction site. Individual areas with boundary assignment were analyzed to assess the degree of safety in these areas. To assess the state of labor protection, a breakdown of the studied object to 100 square meters was adopted. The stage of determining the most hazardous production factors, as well as possible risks that may be involved in the construction work has been investigated. According to the results of ranking of hazardous and harmful production factors, hazard zones are determined regardless of the type of construction and installation work. Based on the distribution of hazard zones (boundaries), it is possible to rank safety levels that characterize the safety situation at the construction site. The Construction Safety Index allows you to identify the processes and factors that most affect labor safety, which makes it possible for inspectors to most effectively correct the selection of protective measures at the construction site.

Recently, China’s economy has been growing and technology has been updated and iterated. People have been thinking more and more about the traditional construction industry’s rough construction model. The traditional construction industry has a high consumption of building materials, severe environmental pollution, high engineering costs, and a lack of rationalization in construction plans. This article aimed to study how to optimize the construction process, improve efficiency, and reduce resource waste by combining Internet of Things (IoT) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology. This article established a construction project model that combined IoT and BIM technology (IoT + BIM) and conducted experiments to quantitatively and qualitatively evaluate the effectiveness of IoT-sustainable BIM technology in construction projects. The value of technology application was quantified by considering indicators such as construction efficiency, resource utilization efficiency, and safety. The experimental results show that the total construction time of IoT and BIM technology is 5.01 h and 5.14 h longer than that of sustainable BIM technology based on IoT, respectively; the average score of building structural safety, fire safety, and physical safety based on sustainable BIM technology based on IoT is 8.49 points; and the intelligence level is stable at more than 80%. The results of this article indicated that through the IoT and BIM technology, better planning and management can be carried out; resource waste can be avoided; design and construction efficiency can be improved; and sustainable development of construction projects can be achieved.

In recent years, the demand for Building Information Modeling (BIM) has increased in the construction industry. BIM is becoming a vital tool for streamlining processes throughout a building's life cycle. While implementing BIM into the design process may present several challenges, it can be highly beneficial to the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry when effectively adopted. Additionally, BIM is a process that involves designing, constructing, and operating a building or infrastructure asset using an electronic, object-oriented information model [1]. One of BIM's main roles is to introduce new dimensions, enabling integration between the 3D model and the necessary data. Moreover, this study aims to explore the definitions, benefits, implementations, and ways BIM is transforming project construction. Additionally, the paper presents the results of BIM adoption across various case domains. The findings highlight the use of BIM in architectural and structural applications, 3D model design, and architectural visualization to improve work and project life cycles.
