The chelating ligand of one of the title complexes shown on the cover picture is coordinated by three nitrogen donors (blue) to the central aluminum atom (wine-red). The latter consists of two more substituents, i.e. two phenyl rings. One of these phenyl rings is “blown” away by the wave of light coming from the right of the picture. The homolytic bond rupture event is highlighted and the phenyl ring flying away is shown in red due to its “hot”, i.e. radical nature. Details of the study are reported by Andreas-Neil Unterreiner, Frank Breher et al. in their Research Article (e202402885).
