Design of an Intelligent Voice-Controlled Home System Based on Raspberry Pi

Intelligent home products have serious information security risks, threatening the privacy of users. In this paper, a method of password protection using hyper-chaos based one-way hash function and secure information transmission method based on spatiotemporal chaos are proposed. The proposed method creates a unidirectional hash function using the delay induced hyper-chaotic system and the key stream iteration to protect user password and to realize user authentication. At the same time, the chaotic time series generated by the one way coupled map lattice system is used to encrypt the plaintext information for the data secure communication, which increases the security of the intelligent home system. An intelligent home system prototype is built based on a Zigbee network, cloud server, and Android system.

An intelligent home system controlled via GSM, GPRS and the Internet was developed to investigate the control system of intelligent home. The home environment including concentration of carbon dioxide, UV intensity, light intensity, smoke concentration, temperature and humidity were real-time transmitted to the host computer monitoring platform. The intelligent home system supports four different control methods with the remote control functions of household appliances, security locks of doors, lighting system and smart curtains realized through a variety of network.

With the development of science and technology, people's demands for life are getting higher and higher, smart home has become the new theme of the times. Smart home more and more people to become a necessary way to pursue a comfortable life. When the smart home gateway to the family in a variety of home appliances through the home bus technology together, it constitutes a powerful, highly intelligent modern smart home system. This paper mainly introduces the wisdom of home, and its related concepts and core technology, as well as from domestic and foreign market situation and the application of electronic technology in intelligent home.

Solutions from information and communication technology (ICT) can contribute to the better care of chronic patients and the elderly. Personal health systems (PHS) are designed for remote health monitoring of home-residing patients (especially chronic patients), while intelligent living environments facilitate everyday tasks for the sick and disabled prolonging their independence and reducing the pressure on health institutions and nursing homes.The widespread prevalence of chronic diseases and the market potential of both PHS and intelligent homes indicate a potential user group for both types of systems. We believe that a tighter integration of the two types of systems could have beneficial results from both the technical implementation and cost of service, as well as from improved usability due to the lower number of different user devices and interfaces.Three of our pilot projects have integrated PHS in intelligent home systems. In the case of the IRIS Smart Home, we developed a system for monitoring blood pressure and integrated it into an existing solution for home environment control. We continued the work with the IDT project where we developed a comprehensive intelligent home solution designed for providing services within an operator's environment. ‘Moje zdravje’ (My health) was the third pilot project; here, we integrated health services into a next-generation TV user interface.The results of the pilot projects support the logic behind the suggested systems integration. The main benefits are the more effective technical implementation, improved usability, and lower cost of service. Further challenges lie in forming appropriate business models, creating adequate links to the health care information system, and proper inclusion of medical staff in the telehealth services.

Internet of Things (IoT) technology has become an integral part of human life, aiming to facilitate and increase the efficiency of human operations. The intelligent home system, which adopts IoT technology, can improve security, convenience, and efficiency. In this study, the intelligent home system will be developed, which employs several physical sensing devices, an ESP32 microcontroller, ThingSpeak, and Line as notification control, and MQTT as the communication protocol. System development refers to the IoT architecture, which consists of three layers, including the physical layer, network layer, and application layer. System testing is carried out by capturing the real-time condition parameters of humidity, temperature, and smoke concentration through the ThingSpeak app, which indicates that all of the parameters can be read by the IoT system. In addition, Line Notify apps enable sending real-time message push notifications to the user regarding the status updates of smoke concentration, door lock status, and live video streaming. In conclusion, the intelligent home system developed in this study provides the enhancement of home security system, user convenience, efficient device, and low-cost system.

The development of cutting-edge technologies such as the Internet of Things, computers, and electronics and people’s pursuit of quality of life have promoted the development of smart homes. Intelligent homes are popular and popular because of their smart, convenient and simple operation. Intelligent home has broad market prospects and development value in the future, and it is of great significance to the research of intelligent home system. In order to meet the daily needs, this paper proposes an Internet of things control system for intelligent home. After completing the design of the entire system, the function and performance of the entire system are tested. System test mainly from the function and performance of two aspects of testing. It can be seen from the system test that the intelligent home control system designed is sensitive to the control function, and the control type meets the needs of life and has good stability. Therefore, the intelligent home control system has a certain use value in real life.

This paper introduces a new approach to building an intelligent smart home. The main goal is to leverage a modern, flexible, smart home by employing concepts and technologies of IoT, ambient intelligence, user profiling, and multimedia. The model combines these elements to develop not only an effective platform but also a rich, personalized and unique experience for the smart home users. By using ambient intelligence to gather and analyze the environmental data and combine them with user profiles, the system finds the right multimedia content adapted to the user’s needs, based on their habits, time of the day and the weather. Besides, the system adapts the user’s environment, as to make them feel as comfortable as possible, by adjusting the amount of light, movement of the curtains and setting the room temperature. The evaluation has shown the presented model possesses great potential for gaining new knowledge in the area of smart environment and IoT, enhancing everyday life, as well as innovations in various contexts.

Aiming at the problem that mini pet owner cannot take care of the pet remotely and the professional pet case and feeding device on the market cannot meet the requirements of remote control and real-time monitoring. An intelligent home system for mini pet feeding was designed. The system was based on the sensing layer, network layer, and application layer, three-layer Internet of things architecture. CC2530 worked as the coordinator of the lower computer and completed the data acquisition of the LAN network through the ZigBee wireless transmission protocol. The STM32 microcontroller was used as the core controller of the lower computer to control the interface circuit of each execution component. The ESP8266 Wi-Fi communication module was mounted on the STM32 to form an embedded gateway, which completed the data transmission between the lower computer and the upper computer and the mobile intelligent terminal. The system proposed proportional on–off temperature adjustment method, which realized the automatic adjustment of temperature in the case of no human intervention. Prototype aging test results demonstrate that the system operates well and has the stable performance. The solution has certain promotion significance and application value for the scientific feeding of mini pets under unattended care.

A virtual assistant or an artificial intelligence chatbot is one of the technological interventions to help individuals with borderline personality disorder (BPD). The virtual assistant must have a bank of knowledge to answer the questions from individuals with BPD to accompany and chat with them like a digital friend. As part of artificial intelligence software, Program-O can handle the interaction between users and the bank of knowledge in the server. The voice recognition and textto-speech features can be used to enhance the virtual assistant’s function to become even closer as a friend. There are three possibilities for implementing voice recognition and text-to-speech features on virtual assistants, which are using Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and smartphone devices. All these three devices can be connected to the speech recognition module or Application Protocol Interface (API) for voice recognition on the internet. This paper will explore and compare several aspects of the implementation of voice recognition and text-to-speech features in the virtual assistant. The result will be a recommendation for the application of voice recognition and text-to-speech features on a virtual assistant for individuals with BPD.

The Bridge2AI-Voice. Consortium is developing affordable and accessible voice data to assist in the identification of vocal biomarkers of disease in adults and children. Initial experiments were designed to establish voice recording procedures to be used in research labs and clinical settings, as well as in quiet environments outside of the clinic. The focus has been on isolated vowel productions, which provide a vocal signal that is representative of the biomechanics of the larynx within a static vocal tract. The current experiment considers the impact of sentence productions on the measurement of several acoustic parameters. Voice recordings from 24 individuals representing a wide range of typical and disordered voices were analyzed. Two CAPE-V sentences were recorded via a head-and-torso model using (1) a research quality, clinical standard microphone/preamplifier/audio interface and (2) smartphones and tablets using their internal microphones and an attached external headset microphone. Mouth-to-microphone distances and environmental noise levels were controlled. Measures of fundamental frequency (F0) and spectral and cepstral measures of voice quality valid for use in sentence contexts were analyzed across recording conditions. Cepstral peak prominence (CPP) values were sensitive to microphone type, noise, and sentence type conditions. Nevertheless, strong linear relationships were observed across recording methods compared to the clinical standard. Measures of F0 obtained using autocorrelation correlated strongly across recording methods, whereas F0 measures obtained from the CPP (CPP F0) were highly variable and poorly correlated across recording methods and noise conditions. The L/H ratio (a measure of spectral tilt) was significantly affected by recording condition but not background noise, and measures of L/H ratio were also observed to correlate strongly across recording methods and noise conditions. Current findings revealed that different recording methods can produce significantly different acoustic measures of voice with sentence-level materials. Since microphone characteristics (e.g., frequency response; use of noise cancellation), mouth-to-microphone distances, and background noise conditions can have significant effects on spectral and cepstral assessment of voice, it is essential that recording methods and conditions are explicitly described when designing voice data collection projects and comparing datasets as it may have an impact on voice analysis. Future investigations should evaluate consistency of results among multiple examples of the same device.

With water and electricity as important scarce resources, it is important to conserve them and raise awareness on their usage, and as much as possible, avoid wastage. One way of conserving these valuable resources is by implementing a system that is able to monitor water and electricity usage, on an appliance level. This paper proposes a low-cost utility monitoring appliance-level system that can observe and monitor both power and water usages of common household appliances. The system has been implemented on a washing machine appliance operating on different modes, and it has been shown that speedy mode operates with an average power of 88W and consuming approximately 99 litres of water, in contrast to a standard mode, which operates with an average power of 43W and consuming 148 litres of water. This is a trade-off between less washing time for the speedy mode with power consumption. More importantly, the results have shown that the proposed low-cost system is able to monitor utility usage of common household appliances, and may be useful towards establishing an intelligent smart home system.

Intelligent home is becoming the hot spot of social attention in the 21st century. When it is in China, it is a really new industry. However, there is no doubt that Intelligent home will become a new economic growth point of social development; it will change the life-style of human being. To develop the intelligent home, we should keep up with the development trend of technology. This is the reason why I talk about the intelligent home control system here.In this paper, intelligent home control system is designed for alarm and remote control on gas- leaking, fire disaster, earthquake prediction, etc., by examining environmental changes around house. When the Intelligent home control system has detected an accident occurs, the processor will communicate with the GSM module, informing the house keeper the occurrence of accident. User can receive and send the message to the system to cut the power by mobile phone. The system can get access to DCCthrough ARM10 JTAG interface, using DCC to send and receive messages. At the same time, the debugger on the host is mainly used to receive the user’s command and send it to the debug component in the target system. The data that returned from the target system is received and displayed to the user in a certain format.

Intelligent voice systems are widely utilized to control smart home applications, which raises significant privacy and security concerns. Recent studies have revealed their vulnerability to adversarial attacks, replay attacks, and so on. However, these attacks rely on the victim’s voice data. In our work, we investigate a stealthy and command-independent attack that does not necessitate collecting victims’ voices. Our proposed attack, IUAC, misleads the voice system to go against the victim’s will, regardless of the commands delivered. Our core concept is to train highly robust attack commands through the construction of diverse data, rendering the user’s commands negligible. To achieve stealthy attacks, we leverage a high-frequency carrier to construct an inaudible universal adversarial command. Extensive experiments conducted with real-world datasets demonstrate that our attack system attains an average attack success rate of 96% while resisting environmental interference. Moreover, our attack success rate against real-world voice systems is 4.52× higher than the state-of-the-art. Finally, we propose an effective defense mechanism and provide experimental tests to validate its efficacy.

With the rapid development of Internet of Things and mobile communication technology, smart home emerges as the times require and is widely loved by the public. Based on FPGA programmable chip, this paper designs a intelligent home system which runs on the embedded system based on FPGA. The system can be programmed on the spot according to needs, and use FPGA to realize, complete a series of operations such as data verification, analysis and processing, and then transmit to the terminal equipment to check the field information through the interface. In addition, the system can execute multiple tasks at the same time, greatly saving the task execution time and enhancing the user experience.

The server door is the main access to enter the server room. Currently the door lock on the server room is still done manually using the physical key as a tool to open or lock the door. Physical keys are easily lost or left behind which results in the officer not being able to enter the server room. This resulted in the officer can not access the server. Based on these reasons, the server door is integrated with a computer system that can unlock the door using voice recognition to unlock the server door. Voice recognition is able to identify a person through his voice. Voice recognition is divided into 2 parts namely speech recognition and speeker recognition. Meanwhile, the authors use the speech recognition section to open thedoor server door lock. Where, speech recognition can identify what is spoken by someone. The design of this tool is made using Raspberry pi 3 as the processing center and ULN2803 as ic to increase the voltage so that it can move the solenoid that serves to move the doorlock. Then raspberry gives command to the servo motor to open the door. Only staff who have id and password are only able to open the door lock on the server room using voice recognition. While those who do not have id and password can not unlock the door in the server room. So with the design of smart door lock tool using voice recognition raspberry-based pi 3 provides a level of security and access more computerized.
