Developing and Evaluating Content-Based Virtual Reality for Improving Learning Effectiveness in IT Education

The continuing worldwide demand for a diverse, competent, computing workforce has had a major impact on undergraduate information technology (IT) education. New degree programs in IT have been created and existing IT programs have been recreated. The enormity of the demand for IT graduates, as well as societal pressures, require such rebooted IT programs to attract a diverse student body. The panelists will describe their experiences and present different perspectives toward rebooting IT education to handle technological changes, to ensure competent graduates via program accreditation, and to address issues of diversity and inclusion.

Information technology penetrates into education field continuously with development of information technology. Information technology is playing an increasingly important role in education. Information technology has changed traditional mode of education, and created a brand-new learning environment for educatees. In-depth integration of information technology and basic education is one of important approaches to improve basic education teaching quality and promote basic education reform. It is innovative development of basic education. In the paper, method of strengthening in-depth integration of information technology and basic education is mainly discussed. Traditional education mode is compared with the in-depth integration teaching mode of information technology and education for discovering their difference. The teaching development trend of information technology and education teaching deeply integrated with basic education is analyzed for discovering problems in in-depth integration of information technology and basic education. Methods of strengthening information technology and basic education in-depth integration are proposed for driving in-depth integration of information technology and basic education.

Since entering the new era, with the rapid development of information technology and the acceleration of the process of global economic integration, many aspects of my country’s social life and economic fields are undergoing profound historical changes. The integration of information technology and physical education is becoming a hot topic in my country’s current information technology education and even the entire education informatization process. The purpose of this article is to study the integration of information technology and physical education process. This article uses modern information technology to integrate with physical education. The teaching effect produced by it is significantly better than the traditional teaching model. It can more effectively solve the difficulties in the textbook, and can help students establish movement representations and understand movements faster. Essentials to stimulate students’ interest in learning. This research systematically elaborates the connotation and significance of information technology and the impact of information technology on middle school physical education, and scientifically explores the physical education curriculum, analyzes the basis and conditions of the integration of physical education and information technology education, and studies the information technology and middle school through teaching experiments. The mode and effect of physical education integration. This article takes the university’s physical education major curriculum integration as the research object, and conducts research and analysis through literature method, questionnaire survey method and mathematical statistics method to define the level of information technology and physical education major curriculum integration. Investigation and research show that more than 30% of physical education humanities teachers can often find a suitable resource bank and obtain relevant teaching materials, but the lack of targeted physical education software largely affects teachers’ access to resources.

The purpose of the present study was to determine the communication skills of preservice information technology (IT) teachers attending Computer Education and Instructional Technologies (CEIT) at Anadolu University and to examine their levels of communication skills with respect to various variables. In the study, the singular and correlational survey models were applied. The research sample included a total of 183 preservice IT teachers in the 2009-2010 academic year. As the data collection tool, a demographic information form and the communication skills inventory developed by Ersanli and Balci (1998). The findings obtained in the study revealed that the preservice IT teachers’ levels of cognitive, emotional and behavioral communication skills did not change with respect to their gender or their parents’ educational background. On the other hand, it was found out that the freshman students had higher levels of emotional communication skills than the senior students did

In this paper, we discuss meaning and options for information technology (IT) education in context of IT training and choice of optimal IT profession. IT education and work provided training can be presented as a combination of academic and professional knowledge and skills which allow fulfilment of job requirements. As a starting point, key requirements are identified which are linked to key items for optimal choice of IT profession. General and specific skills are defined, and also attitude which our graduates should have for specific profession. The methodology for IT education is formed in context of IT training and optimal choice of IT profession.

This paper focuses on the current status of information technology (IT) application in vocational education. It analyzes the advantages and problems about the informational teaching mode. The keys of reasonable IT application in vocational curriculum are establishing advanced IT teaching philosophy, accurately positioning IT teaching objective, optimizing IT teaching content, applying a variety of IT teaching methods and implementing multiple evaluations of IT teaching

The article examines the development trends of information and communication technologies in education as the basis for the formation of an information society. The stages of development of information technologies from manual information to network technology are described. The purpose of the article is to analyze the current trends of the use of information technologies in educational institutions. General scientific methods were used during the research, in particular: analysis and synthesis, comparison, analysis of time series, graphical method, etc. The meaning of information and communication technologies is revealed, as well as the regulatory and legal framework for their development and implementation in the educational process in Ukraine is indicated. Comparison of government forms of statistical reporting is carried out in terms of the use of modern information technologies, namely, the expansion of the ZNZ-1 form with the following indicators: about the technology and speed of the Internet, the availability of Wi-Fi technology, the availability of modern printing devices (including 3D printers by type), educational software used in the educational process and are on the balance sheet of the institution, etc. The current state of the provision of general secondary education institutions with an Internet connection was investigated (less than 100 institutions do not have such a connection, which is less than 1% of the total number). The level of provision of schools' connection to a high-quality Internet network (with a data transfer rate of more than 30+ Mbit/s), as well as the number of students per one stationary or laptop computer by regions, are described.

This study examines a structured intervention at a Middle Eastern university. It aims to enhance undergraduate Information Technology (IT) students’ comprehension and competency with the Metaverse. With immersive technologies still emerging in the region, the study targeted five core dimensions: conceptual understanding, tool familiarity, perceived academic benefits, ethical awareness, and reduction of usage-related challenges. Using a pre- and post-test design with 60 participants, the intervention yielded statistically significant improvements across all dimensions (p < 0.001). The greatest gains were observed in tool familiarity (M = 1.41, t = 28.05) and ethical awareness (M = 1.07, t = 21.29), highlighting the intervention’s impact on both technical and critical thinking competencies. This study contributes to the growing body of empirical evidence on Metaverse integration in undergraduate IT education. It was implemented at a Middle Eastern university by presenting a model that may be adapted and tested elsewhere for competency development. It also identifies pedagogical strategies that, in this cohort, facilitate meaningful engagement with immersive environments. The findings may be relevant to similar institutions in early adoption phases, offering preliminary, context-specific insights for curriculum design and digital transformation in IT education. By addressing this gap, the study provides evidence on how Metaverse adoption can be integrated into IT higher education, and offers context-specific insights from a Middle Eastern setting.

The low percentage of women pursuing Information Technology (IT) education is a concern in many countries worldwide. This exploratory study is motivated by the experimental introduction of an elective programming course in a selected number of Norwegian Lower Secondary schools, now recently extended to include any interested school. Though there is a growing body of knowledge in the area, we believe this study is important to understand the situation in a moment of great change in the national curriculum. Given the nature of our investigation, we have adopted multiple methods to collect a variety of data and get an overview of the practice. The main reasons not to choose IT education include: the poor reputation of programming, lack of information about the course, lack of knowledge about programming and technology and what it could be used for, the impression that programming is not useful to help society, the negative influence of parents and friends, and the disinterest in programming. To a large extent, these results are not surprising in that they confirm results from similar studies worldwide. However, the results are unexpected considering the social and economic conditions of Norway. This paper mainly wants to act as a warning pointing out that despite the high gender balance in Norwegian society, this does not automatically solve the gender gap in IT education, with important consequences on the longer term for the job market.

The relevance of the study is determined by the need to update the methods of teaching physical culture in universities based on information technologies in accordance with the socio-cultural conditions of the present time. The purpose of the study is to substantiate the need to use information technologies in physical education in Ukrainian universities, followed by the development of a conceptual model based on the experience of foreign higher education institutions. The research of the selected problem was conducted in two stages based on systematic and innovative approaches using the method of analysis, synthesis, generalisation, systematisation, and comparison. The paper identified the need to introduce information technologies in the educational process of physical culture in universities based on the research of Ukrainian and foreign authors. The article analysed and compared the practices of using information technologies in physical education classes in universities of European countries, such as Spain, Ireland, Portugal, the Russian Federation, as well as Asian countries, among which are Japan and China. It was found out that the introduction of informatisation tools in the educational process of physical education in Ukrainian universities is accompanied by certain difficulties, and at the same time, the actualisation of the search for solutions to these problems was identified. The main ways of introducing information technologies in physical education classes in leading Ukrainian universities were considered. Based on the experience of Ukrainian and foreign universities, a conceptual model of information technologies usage in the educational process of physical education was developed, which is based on improving individual and collective skills using a universal mobile application and fitness games. The value and prospects of further research lie in creating a universal mobile application and implementing the author's methodology in practice

This article analyses the field of research on information and communication technology (ICT) in education. It reviews the results of ICT researches carried out in the world. First, the article presents the retrospective of researches on ICT implementation into education. Summarizing them, it reviews main research findings in five areas of ICT implementation: 1) the impact of ICT use on students achievements and attitudes; 2) the impact of ICT use on teachers; 3) the effect of teachers' factors and instructional methods on ICT efficiency; 4) the influence of infrastructure and organizational factors on ICT efficiency; 5) the effect of specific software design features. Then, the paper reviews the main recent and future directions of researches on ICT in education, in the world. Finally, it shortly reviews the most important future directions of ICT research and development in Lithuania. The article concludes that in spite of numerous ICT studies worldwide the national research and experiments have to be carried out in order to implement ICT in an appropriate for Lithuania and efficient way.

The article considers the development of information technologies in education and, in particular, in its part such as distance education. The focus is on the use of distance learning technologies in the most critical period of human existence, namely in the period of quarantine in connection with the global pandemic on the coronavirus COVID-19. The main problems of the application of distance education are considered, when it is necessary to teach remotely all students, starting from beginners and ending with those who always want to learn. There is an urgent need to create new methods that would simplify the work of teachers in conducting distance learning, improve online teacher-student communication. There are also requirements for the executive authorities to address the issues of decent equipping of general secondary education institutions with computers, increasing the ICT competence of teachers, as well as the creation of a comprehensive Internet space. The issue of improving the information education of teachers in order to overcome pedagogical and psychological difficulties in conducting comprehensive distance education is covered. There is an increase in the role of educational libraries in the dissemination of distance education, as well as in the direction of helping users to remotely receive information that would meet their needs, in particular, highlighted the activities of the V. O. Sukhomlinskyі SSPL of Ukraine. The results of partial monitoring of dissertation research in the specialties 13.00.02 "Theory and methods of teaching (computer science)" and 13.00.10 "Information and communication technologies in education" concerning the issues of distance education for the period 1991—2019 are analyzed. Statistical data on the share of dissertations, the problem of which is the use of ICT in education, protected in research institutions and free educational institutions, in order to identify research activity on the outlined topic. .

Today, learning how to program or coding is an important issue even for children. So, pre-service Information Technology (IT) teachers are expected to have gained necessary skills for teaching programming. Considering that learning programming is not an easy process, we need icebreakers in order to change pre-service teachers’ perceptions of programming positively. This study focused on an implementation of a training of rapid application development (RAD). The aim of the study was to come up with an answer to the question; “can RAD be used as an icebreaker in order to change Turkish pre-service IT teachers’ perceptions towards programming positively?” The findings revealed that RAD tools can be used as icebreakers in the context of the study. In this respect, it is recommended that these tools be included in the higher education programs providing informatics education.

This study aims to determine the role of information and communication technology in education. The information and communication technology in general aims to make students understand information and communication technology devices in general, including computers (literacy) and information literacy, which means students recognize the terms used in information and communication technology. In the Qur'an there are so many commands, statements, suggestions, satires and so on that substantially link Islamic teachings to science and technology. The results of this study found that the role of information technology in education, in addition to helping students in learning also had a quite influential role for teachers, especially in the use of facilities to enrich teaching skills, and the Qur'an as a guide and guidance for the development of science and technology in order to strengthen faith and improve human well-being.

This study delves into the role of information technology in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) administration. With the rapid advancement of technology, the incorporation of information technology in educational administration is increasingly crucial to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of learning and educational management processes. Employing a qualitative approach and literature review methods, this research examines various literature and previous studies related to information technology application in PAI administration. The findings reveal that information technology significantly simplifies information access, expedites administrative processes, and enhances the quality of educational services. Furthermore, information technology facilitates educational material dissemination, student data management, and communication among teachers, students, and parents. Despite challenges such as infrastructure limitations, educators' technical capabilities, and data security concerns, the study concludes that effectively implementing information technology in PAI administration can yield substantial positive impacts with the support of all relevant stakeholders.
