Development of Dutatani Website Using Rapid Application Development

The development of the internet of things has penetrated in several lines, including in agriculture. To respond to the development of this IoT requires rapid technological adaptation as well. To build a system quickly, one can utilize the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method. RAD is a model that allows non-experts to benefit from high-performance computing, while allowing expert programmers to take full advantage of the underlying hardware. This enables rapid prototyping, retargeting, and reuse of existing software, while allowing hardware-specific optimization if needed. The RAD system emphasizes the fast development cycle that is designed and high-quality results from other methods such as waterfall, agile, scrum and others. The system was built using the minimum NodeMCU system with the help of a soil moisture sensor. The use of the RAD method in building an IoT-based agricultural irrigation system gives good results in testing all functions and equipment controls. The average delay level on testing IoT devices is around 4.6 seconds so that the RAD method can be used as a reference in the construction of an IoT-based system.

Rapid Application Development (RAD) has been proposed by some as the latest ‘silver bullet‘ to address the software crisis, while others have likened it to ‘old wine in new bottles’, suggesting that it doesn’t really provide anything new in terms of tools or techniques. Researchers have noted that while much has been written on the subject, there is a paucity of empirical research on the concept in practice. This paper discusses the rationale behind the emergence of RAD and the fundamental principles underpinning it. The findings of a preliminary study which investigated the RAD phenomenon in practice are presented. Briefly, the study findings focus on the profile of RAD usage, suitability criteria for using RAD on development projects, and how RAD is used to deliver its mission of faster development, within budget and without sacrificing system quality.

Desa Harjatani, seperti banyak kelurahan lainnya, menghadapi tantangan keterbatasan sumber daya manusia, prosedur birokrasi yang kompleks, dan kurangnya transparansi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengatasi permasalahan tersebut melalui pengembangan sistem informasi layanan masyarakat berbasis web dengan model Rapid Application Development (RAD). Dengan pendekatan RAD yang iteratif dan berorientasi pengguna, waktu pengembangan sistem informasi dapat dipersingkat. Tinjauan pustaka membahas konsep pelayanan publik, metode pengembangan perangkat lunak, dan model RAD. Metode penelitian melibatkan tahapan dari Requirements Planning hingga Construction, dengan penekanan pada interaksi intensif dengan pengguna dan adaptasi fleksibel terhadap perubahan. In recent years, the number and scope of events in the Asia and Middle East / North Africa region has increased significantly. Events are one of the things that attracts the attention of foreign tourists to come to visit a country as a tourist destination. Refers toMinister of Tourism Regulation Number 2 Year 2017on Guidelines for Venues for Meetings, Incentive Trips, Conventions and Exhibitions, explains that criteria and indicators are needed to increase the competitiveness of venues for meetings, incentive trips, conventions and exhibitions at the regional and global levels. This is done to increase the number of visits, length of stay, and expenditures for domestic and foreign tourists. Therefore, visual indicators or data are needed that can present the location of the event and a list of events in DKI Jakarta. From these problems, this study aims to produce a web-based spatial information system for the distribution of tourism industry events to map event locations in DKI Jakarta. While the system development methodology uses PHP and MySQL with the Rapid Application Development (RAD) approach and uses the Unified Modeling Language (UML) which is a tool for system description and design, as well as the Google Maps API for digital maps. The results of this study are in the form of a spatial information system that can display a map of the distribution of event locations in DKI Jakarta based on event data and event categories at the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Department. Computer technology that is increasingly developing has created a situation that demands everything to be computerized. Science from technology has also changed the way of life of most Indonesians. The presence of information and communication technology affects the technology applied in information systems, especially the input and output mechanisms. One of them is at the Clinic which requires computer technology in its operations. The design of this website also uses 3 stages of Rapid Application Development (RAD) system design, the result of which is a website for a medical record information system. In order for clinical activities to run smoothly at the Clinic, an information system using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method is needed because the software development process model is classified as an incremental technique and emphasizes short, short, and fast development cycles. Medical record system testing will be tested using Blackbox Testing and User Acceptance Test (UAT) testing.

The absence of well-developed agricultural information systems (AGRIS) has continued to hinder agricultural development in Africa. Efforts designed to modernize agriculture through AGRIS by the public and private sectors have been hindered by administrative bottlenecks, weak political will from governments, display of ineptitude by farmers/associations, and institutional corruption. In view of the foregoing, this chapter discusses AGRIS as a catalyst for SDGs in Africa. An effective AGRIS will strengthen decisions on the general management of the agricultural sector. Deploying the AGRIS for the management of agriculture will boost food production, increase the GDPs and directly strengthen the actualization of SDG 1, SDG 2, SDG 3, SDG 8, SDG 9, SDG 10, SDG 11, SDG 12, SDG 14, SDG 15, SDG 17, and indirectly impact other SDGs. Ultimately, this chapter suggests leveraging AGRIS for mitigating all the identified challenges to agricultural development in the continent.

Several difficulties commonly arise during the software development process. Among them are the lengthy technical process of developing a system, the limited number and technical capabilities of human resources, the possibility of bugs and errors during the testing and implementation phase, dynamic and frequently changing user requirements, and the need for a system that supports multi-platforms. Rapid application development (RAD) is the software development life cycle (SDLC) that emphasizes the production of a prototype in a short amount of time (30-90 days). This study discovered that implementing a model-driven architecture (MDA) approach into the RAD method can accelerate the model design and prototyping stages. The goal is to accelerate the SDLC process. It took roughly five weeks to construct the system by applying all of the RAD stages. This time frame does not include iteration and the cutover procedure. During the prototype test, there were no errors with the create, read, update, and delete (CRUD) procedure. It was demonstrated that automatic transformation in MDA can shorten the RAD phases for designing the model and developing an early prototype, reduce code errors in standard processes like CRUD, and construct a system that supports multi-platform.

As technology develops, information systems become very important in institutions. Information systems support the delivery of information quickly and accurately. The system is a reference at the Persada Islamic Boarding School Ahmad Dahlan University to develop an information delivery system using applications integrated. Manual systems cause the information to be less relevant, requiring an integrated and comprehensive system that can effectively and efficiently deliver information to students. The application developed using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Rapid Application Development (RAD) methods. The application of these methods requires two main steps, including determining ERP and RAD for implementation. The process for obtaining an ERP method requires steps such as Material Requirement Planning, Close-Loop, and Manufacturing Resource Planning, and Enterprise Resource Planning. The RAD method requires steps such as Requirement Planning, RAD Design Workshop, and Implementation. Application testing used black-box and alpha testing. Each of these tests obtained an accuracy of 95% and 97.7%. Thus, this application can be implemented in Persada very well on mobile and desktop platforms. Besides, the app used information broadcasting to users in real-time for any information in Persada.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat sebuah sistem informasi pengelolaan keuangan di Yayasan Al-Hasna yang bergerak dalam dunia pendidikan. Yayasan ini menaungi lembaga pendidikan tingkat dasar dan pendidikaan informal. Lembaga pendidikan formalnya adalah TKIT dan SDIT sedangkan pendidikan informalnya adalah Kelompok Bermain dan Taman Pendidikan Al-qur’an. Sistem yang dibuat digunakan untuk mengelola semua lembaga pendidikan yang ada menjadi satu. Metode pengembangan sistem yang digunakan adalah metode Rapid Application Development (RAD). Untuk desain database menggunakan normalisasi dan Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD). Langkah desain yang pertama adalah desain konseptual dengan menggunakan Diagram Konteks. Langkah yang kedua adalah desain logik, yaitu desain yang bertujuan menyiapkan struktur-struktur data yang diperlukan dan terbaik untuk diimplementasikan. Sedang langkah yang terakhir adalah desain fisik, yaitu melakukan implementasi model logik ke dalam bahasa pemrograman Microsoft Visual Foxpro 9 sehingga diperoleh sistem yang diinginkan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah sebuah sistem informasi untuk mengolah data keuangan untuk Yayasan Al-Hasna yang mengelola semua data pembayan dari siswa. Hasil dari sistem ini adalah laporan-laporan dari pembayaran siswa, baik rekapitulasi secara keseluruhan maupun setiap item pembayaran. Sistem ini juga menghasilkan laporan tentang data siswa. This study presents the design and implementation of a web-based food ordering system developed to address persistent inefficiencies in university food service operations. Conducted at Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki, Nigeria, the research engaged students, food vendors, and administrative staff to assess existing challenges and user needs. Guided by the Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology, the system was built through iterative prototyping and continuous user feedback to ensure functionality, usability, and relevance. System performance was evaluated by comparing the speed and accuracy of digital order processing with traditional manual methods. Findings revealed that the digital platform significantly reduced processing time and minimized errors associated with handwritten or verbal orders. Usability testing using a standardized evaluation instrument further showed high user acceptance and overall positive interaction with the system. The study concludes that the developed platform enhances operational efficiency, reliability, and user satisfaction in campus food services, while also contributing to ongoing efforts toward digital transformation within higher education institutions.

This study aims to analyze and design an Inventory Management Information System (IMIS) for PT. XYZ, a company that currently relies on manual inventory processes, leading to inefficiencies and operational delays. To address these challenges, the IMIS was developed using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology, which followed three key stages: requirements planning, design workshop, and implementation. In the requirements planning stage, comprehensive user needs and system specifications were gathered. During the user design phase, iterative prototyping and continuous feedback sessions helped refine the system’s interface and functionalities. The rapid construction phase saw the development of core features—such as real-time inventory tracking, automated restocking alerts, and detailed transaction histories—using PHP, HTML, JavaScript, and MySQL. Finally, in the cutover phase, pilot testing demonstrated that the system reduced material search times from 15–30 minutes to nearly instantaneous retrieval, significantly improving inventory accuracy and overall operational efficiency. Further research is needed to evaluate its long-term performance and scalability. This study not only highlights the practical advantages of the RAD-based approach but also offers a promising model for organizations seeking to modernize their inventory management practices.

This study aims to design an online recruitment system using a rapid application development (RAD) model in which the system is perceived to be more effective and efficient than conventional recruitment media such as newspapers, advertisements, and so on. All companies / institutions that need workers can share information related to a job in accordance with certain criteria, such as position / age, age, achievement index, gender, and so on. This information can be accessed by alumni and students of Subang State Polytechnic. Employment providers can get all information related to the curriculum vitae of the candidates so that they can get the best candidates. This work deals with some of the principles upon which rapid application development (RAD) projects are managed, based on recent case studies and published methods. It focuses particularly on the development team, and suggests themes that may underlie RAD principles. An approach to metrics in establishing the relationship between principles and benefits is discussed.

Usability is one factor that influences software design success during the software testing process. Usability testing is used to evaluate whether the software meets user needs or not. Usability testing is usually carried out using a certain questionnaire method, but the distribution and measurement of the results are carried out separately. This makes the researchers spend more time testing the application. Therefore, this study provides a solution by designing and building web-based applications to measure the usability of a software design or product with the SUS, UMUX, and UMUX-lite questionnaires. The development method used in this study is Rapid Application Development (RAD) with the stages of the process starting with problem identification, literature study, needs planning, RAD design workshops, implementation, and report writing. The application was built using the Laravel framework and the database using MySQL. The main features of the online questionnaire application were the creation of a questionnaire and the analysis of the results of the questionnaire. The functionality of the application was tested by using the Black Box testing method. Then the developed application was also utilized in usability testing using the SUS, UMUX, and UMUX-lite questionnaires. The results of application usability testing using the SUS, UMUX, and UMUX-Lite methods obtained a final score of 88; 91,28, and 82,05 where all these values mean the application can be accepted and used. This research on a web-based thesis management system aims to simplify the process of collecting and documenting students’ theses, allowing them to be used as references for those currently working on their final projects. The system is developed using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method, as this approach enables the rapid and flexible creation of prototypes that adapt to user needs. The system design includes several features such as abstract submission, thesis document uploads, and DOI publication links. In addition, it provides document preview and download functionality. The outcome of this design is a user-friendly interface that assists students in accessing and retrieving documented digital theses as references. It is expected that this system will serve as an initial step toward the digital transformation of thesis data management and can be further enhanced in the future according to emerging needs.
