Digital transformation has become essential in an increasingly volatile business environment characterized by rapid technological and environmental change. However, many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) struggle to adopt digital technologies, leaving them vulnerable to operational disruptions. This study examined how digital transformation influences SMEs’ organizational resilience, defined as the ability to recover from unforeseen disruptions and maintain continuity of operations. It is hypothesized that SMEs utilizing digital technologies such as e-commerce platforms, cloud computing, and automation would demonstrate greater resilience than those that do not. Focusing on the retail, healthcare, and manufacturing sectors, the study analyzed how digital tools enhance operational flexibility, customer satisfaction, efficiency, and recovery time. Using secondary data from industry reports, academic literature, and government databases, the research assessed the relationship between digital transformation and resilience. Findings indicate a significant positive relationship between digital transformation and organizational resilience across all sectors. Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) results (p < 0.001) confirm that higher levels of digital adoption are associated with stronger resilience, although the magnitude of impact varies by industry. Retail exhibited the highest digital adoption rates, while manufacturing lagged behind. Key technologies contributing to resilience include customer relationship management systems, cloud computing, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, artificial intelligence and machine learning, enterprise resource planning systems, and cybersecurity measures. The study provides practical guidance for SMEs and policymakers, recommending sector-specific digital strategies and continuous skills development to bridge digital capability gaps. Overall, aligning digital transformation initiatives with resilience objectives enhances SMEs’ capacity to withstand and adapt to disruptions.
