Distributed containment output-feedback control for a general class of stochastic nonlinear multi-agent systems

In this paper, the dynamic surface control (DSC) algorithm is proposed for a class of stochastic nonlinear systems with nonminimum phase and the standard output-feedback form. The proposed algorithm is a stochastic vision by combining the traditional back-stepping together with the DSC technique, which can overcome the problem of ‘explosion of complexity’ in the back-stepping designing procedure for the stochastic nonlinear systems. Thus, it can reduce the computation complexity and is easy to be used in the actual implementation. It is shown that all the signals of the resulting closed-loop system are uniformly ultimately bounded.

This work concentrates on the adaptive resilient dynamic surface controller design problem for uncertain nonlinear lower triangular stochastic cyber-physical systems (CPSs) subject to unknown deception attacks based on a switching threshold event-triggered mechanism. The adverse effect of deception attacks on the stochastic CPSs is that the exact system state variables become unavailable. Furthermore, it should be emphasized that the coexistence of unknown nonlinearities, stochastic perturbations, and unknown sensor and actuator attacks makes it a very difficult and challenging event to implement the control design. To get the desired controller, radial basis function (RBF) neural networks (NNs) are introduced so that the design obstacle caused from the unknown nonlinearities can be easily solved. On this basis, in order to save resources and effectively transmit, the event-triggered control scheme based on a switching threshold strategy is further considered. In the backstepping design process, the dynamic surface control (DSC) technique is presented to deal with the issue of "explosion of complexity." By skillfully designing a new coordinate transformation and the attack compensators, the problem of unknown deception attacks is successfully handled. Under our proposed control scheme, all the closed-loop signals are bounded in probability and the stabilization errors converge to an adjustable neighborhood of the origin in probability. Finally, the simulation results on the double chemical reactor show the validity of the proposed design scheme.

This paper addresses an adaptive control problem for a class of stochastic nonlinear multi-agent systems with quantized input. By using the backstepping design method, the distributed controller is designed for each of the agents, which only uses the agent’s local state and the states of its neighbors. According to the graph theory and the stochastic analysis, it is proved that the proposed method can drive the agents to achieve consensus while all of the closed-loop systems remain bounded in probability. Finally, a numerical example is provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

This paper focuses on the almost sure consensus via time-varying feedback for a class of uncertain stochastic nonlinear multiagent systems. A remarkable feature of the systems is that the nonlinearities allow serious unknowns and time-variations. Moreover, there exists no known bound for the unknown control coefficients. To handle the unknowns and time-variations, a time-varying consensus scheme is developed. The main idea of the scheme is to incorporate a delicate function of time into consensus protocols such that the unknowns and time-variations can be compensated as time increases. Based on the proposed protocols, the almost sure leaderless consensus and almost sure leader-following consensus are achieved. Finally, two simulation examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the theoretical results.

Uncoupled PID Control of Multi-Agent Nonlinear Uncertain Stochastic Systems

Displacement measurement in hydraulic support systems faces unique challenges from rock burst-induced vibrations that introduce non-smooth stochastic disturbances characterized by Wiener processes. This paper addresses measurement uncertainty in harsh underground environments through a fixed-time control framework. A second-order stochastic nonlinear model is established using Itô calculus to rigorously capture sensor-induced uncertainties. A fixed-time backstepping controller is developed, employing a self-organizing radial basis function neural network to approximate uncertain nonlinearities, with a novel power augmentation term introduced to eliminate singularities while preserving fixed-time convergence. Closed-loop probabilistic stability is proven via stochastic Lyapunov theory. Experimental validation is conducted on a Beckhoff-controlled hydraulic test bench, where Wiener noise is injected into sensor feedback signals to emulate underground stochastic disturbances. Results demonstrate tracking errors within ±2 mm and settling times independent of initial conditions, confirming the effectiveness of the proposed method under realistic measurement uncertainties.

With the development of swarm intelligence in last decades, consensus problem of multi-agent systems has been attracting much attention. To reveal the inherent mechanism of leader-following consensus in multi-agent systems with stochastic dynamics, PI control protocols are designed in this paper. Owing to the stochastic analysis techniques, algebraic graph theory, and constructing appropriate Lyapunov function, it is proved that the leader-following consensus of nonlinear stochastic dynamical multi-agent systems can be reached in mean square. Sufficient condition are deduced to select the PI control protocol parameters. Finally, the theoretical results are demonstrated through a simulation example.

A novel alleviating fuzzy control algorithm for a class of nonlinear stochastic systems in pure-feedback form

Controlling stochastic multi-agent systems (MAS) is a promising branch of systems engineering owing to its ability to solve complex practical problems by taking inspiration from the social behavior of living organisms. Consensus on more than one state is a less considered problem in the framework of leader-following control of high-order uncertain nonlinear stochastic multi-agent systems with unknown dynamics. To this end, in this paper, a sliding surface integrates a tracking error polynomial with consensus error between states of the connected agents. Accordingly, a new distributed fuzzy sliding mode controller is designed for a class of stochastic multi-agent systems with partially unknown deterministic dynamics and unknown bounded stochastic dynamics. The proposed control protocol steers agents to reach agreement on states of the leader and concurrently approximates the unknown part of their deterministic dynamics by using fuzzy systems with adaptive parameters. In the sense of Lyapunov, it is proved that consensus error and all of the closed-loop signals of each agent are semi-globally uniformly ultimately bounded (SGUUB) in mean square. Under the designed controller, nonlinear closedloop experimental dynamics behave well in both tracking and reaching state consensus.

Adaptive fuzzy control of uncertain stochastic nonlinear systems with full state constraints

In this paper, we develop a conservation-based framework for addressing finite time semistability and almost sure consensus problems for nonlinear stochastic multiagent dynamical systems with fixed communication topologies. Specifically, we present a distributed nonlinear controller architecture for multiagent coordination over networks with state-dependent stochastic communication uncertainty. The proposed controller architecture involves the exchange of generalized charge or energy state information between agents guaranteeing that the closed-loop dynamical network is stochastically finite time semistable to an equipartitioned equilibrium representing a state of almost sure consensus consistent with basic thermodynamic principles.

This paper presents a novel method for designing an adaptive control system using radial basis function neural network. The method is capable of dealing with nonlinear stochastic systems in strict-feedback form with any unknown dynamics. The proposed neural network allows the method not only to approximate any unknown dynamic of stochastic nonlinear systems, but also to compensate actuator nonlinearity. By employing dynamic surface control method, a common problem that intrinsically exists in the back-stepping design, called “explosion of complexity”, is resolved. The proposed method is applied to the control systems comprising various types of the actuator nonlinearities such as Prandtl–Ishlinskii (PI) hysteresis, and dead-zone nonlinearity. The performance of the proposed method is compared to two different baseline methods: a direct form of backstepping method, and an adaptation of the proposed method, named APIC-DSC, in which the neural network is not contributed in compensating the actuator nonlinearity. It is observed that the proposed method improves the failure-free tracking performance in terms of the Integrated Mean Square Error (IMSE) by 25%/11% as compared to the backstepping/APIC-DSC method. This depression in IMSE is further improved by 76%/38% and 32%/49%, when it comes with the actuator nonlinearity of PI hysteresis and dead-zone, respectively. The proposed method also demands shorter adaptation period compared with the baseline methods.

This article focuses on an adaptive dynamic surface tracking control issue of nonlinear multiagent systems (MASs) with unmodeled dynamics and input quantization under predefined accuracy. Radial basis function neural networks (RBFNNs) are employed to estimate unknown nonlinear items. A dynamic signal is established to handle the trouble introduced by the unmodeled dynamics. Moreover, the predefined precision control is realized with the aid of two key functions. Unlike the existing works on nonlinear MASs with unmodeled dynamics, to avoid the issue of "explosion of complexity," the dynamic surface control (DSC) method is applied with the nonlinear filter. By using the designed controller, the consensus errors can gather to a precision assigned a priori. Finally, the simulation results are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.
