Domain Ontology Construction from Chinese Thesaurus

In order to making resources for the organic wastes, it is very important to understand for the life cycle of wastes before the physicochemical analysis and engineering technology. Therefore we try to fine the solution through the interdisciplinary consilience between natural science and social science for the management of refuge in summer resort. Summer visitors of beach answered that fly tipping of refuse was 65.56% and insufficient separation was 17.78% about the survey. But insufficient separation was 42.5% and fly tipping was 37.5% in valley. The survey for the effective methods at reducing refuse was represented that campaign and teaching was 47.78%, fine was 23.33% and using the standard bags was 18.89% in beach. Campaign and teaching was 37.5%, using the standard bags was 37.5% and fine was 15% in valley. Bulk density of refuse in gyeongpo beach was measured in . This value was three times as much low than municipal solid wastes. Moreover, the composition of refuses in beach showed that combustible materials was 81.1% and incombustible materials was 18.9%. Moisture, ash and combustibles were analyzed 19.0%, 9.2% and 91.8% respectively.

With the continuous increase of science and technology policy, how to find valuable information from the massive scientific and technological policies has becoming an urgent problem to be solved. Thus, this paper proposes a subject discovery method for large scale science and technology policy set. Based on LDA subject model for science and technology policy document subject modeling, this approach extracts time and geographical labels of science and technology policy, computes intensity of subjects under different time and geographical conditions, and obtains important subjects and analysis of theme change trend of the intensity of subjects under condition constraints. Experimental results demonstrate that this method can excavate and analyze the subjects form large scale science and technology policies quickly and effectively.

This work-in-progress paper will discuss the evolving response by an engineering education center to proposed changes in the ABET general criteria for accrediting engineering programs relating to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). ABET is a "nonprofit, ISO 9001 certified organization that accredits programs in applied and natural science, computing, engineering and engineering technology." The paper will discuss the plan of the Leonhard Center for the Enhancement of Engineering Education located in the College of Engineering at Pennsylvania State University to help faculty and departments meet the proposed changes in ABET criteria relating to diversity, equity, and inclusion. In addition, the College’s strategic plan calls for the integration of DEI into the curriculum, leading to a changing emphasis in the work being done in the Center. This paper would likely be of interest to engineering educators and other faculty developers who will have to demonstrate that their engineering programs meet ABET accreditation requirements or have similar strategic goals. In addition, the paper will describe current and evolving efforts to date as well as discuss the challenges that occurred during the development of the DEI curricular integration and training plan.

The Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredits the tertiary education programs in the areas of applied and natural science, computing, engineering, and engineering technology. ABET offers accreditation in the United States and other regions in the world that lack such entities such as Gulf Cooperative Counties (GCC). Though ABET accreditation is voluntary, graduates of the ABET-accredited programs are considered equivalent in knowledge, behaviors, and attitude with global standards. The process of ABET accreditation takes months or years depending upon the gap with readiness and resources. The objective of this study is to compile and prioritize the list of critical success factors (CSFs) to commit resources optimally for sustained academic quality assurance and ABET accreditation. The triangulation research designed has been employed. Firstly, the observation of the ABET accreditation process of multiple programs at King Khalid University (KKU) helped in identifying 11 CSFs in three categories namely Program design and execution, Quality culture and excellence, and Institutional infrastructure and support. Further, these CSFs have been explored in the literature in the area of ABET accreditation. Finally, the research employs a fuzzy analytical hierarchy process (Fuzzy AHP) and full consistency method (FUCOM) to rank the relative importance of these CSFs and their dimensions for sustained academic quality assurance and ABET accreditation. The incorporation of these CSFs will help institutions in the GCC and other regions to get their academic programs ABET-accredited in an optimal manner.

This paper describes the free downloadable curriculum for the first national Zero Robotics Middle School programming competition where student code is uploaded to the International Space Station for a final competition refereed by astronauts with live video feed. The curriculum includes both printed and online content, and has been implemented this past summer as part of the Zero Robotics Middle School Summer Program 2013. Students who attended the programs reported significantly higher scores related to understanding of: (1) Research on the International Space Station National Laboratory, (2) The uniqueness of the research environment on the International Space Station and (3) Possible careers related to robotics. Over 90% of students reported that they would recommend Zero Robotics to a friend. The pilot Zero Robotics Middle School program has achieved its goal of leveraging the resources of SPHERES as a tool for Science, Technology Engineering and Math education, and plans to expand the program further next summer.

The updated version of the Directory of Scientific Periodicals of Georgia is compiled taking into account the latest records of the ISSN Georgian National Center and reflects the changes made to the passport data of journals in the period 2020-2023. The subject headings of the scientific journals included in the Directory have not changed - Natural Sciences, Earth Sciences, Medicine, Agriculture, Social Sciences, Engineering and Technology. The Directory contains bibliographic data of active periodicals of 150 titles. The publication details are taken from official journal websites, are publisher-checked and certified. The classification of scientific fields (FOS) of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) is used to determine the subject area of a scientific journal. The Directory singles out the list of scientific journals (25 titles) whose publication has been suspended for various reasons and according to the publishers, is not planned to be restored in the near future. Those publications, which are expected to be restored after solving certain problems, are left in the list of active journals.

During the past thirty years the role of the natural sciences and medicine in the Scottish Enlightenment has been hotly debated. Elaborating on the interpretation of the Scottish Enlightenment advanced by Nicholas Phillipson, John Christie argued in a series of influential essays that the pursuit of natural knowledge was one of the 'major elements whose combination formed the culture of the Scottish Enlightenment'. Stronger claims for the importance of science and medicine were subsequently made by Roger L. Emerson, who contended that if we are properly to understand the origins and defining characteristics of the Scottish Enlightenment then we must see the cultivation of natural knowledge as being central to enlightened culture in eighteenth-century Scotland. On the other hand, following the lead of Hugh Trevor-Roper (Lord Dacre), John Robertson recently insisted that the Scottish Enlightenment should be defined in terms of a core of related enquiries in moral philosophy, history and political economy, and that the natural sciences and medicine were peripheral to the intellectual preoccupations of enlightened savants in Scotland and in the Atlantic world more generally. Richard Sher likewise rejects Emerson's claims, and suggests that the Scottish Enlightenment can be more fruitfully defined in terms of the 'culture of the literati' which, for Sher, encompassed science and medicine but was not rooted in these fields. While it would be inappropriate here to enter into the complexities of this debate, we should recognise that the points at issue are far from trivial because they raise serious questions not only about how we characterise the Enlightenment as an historical phenomenon but also about how we conceptualise the genesis of our own world.

Bacang mango leaves and bay leaves are plants that have been used for a long time, even bay leaves themselves are often used as cooking ingredients. Mango Bacang leaves and bay leaves contain alkaloids, phenols, tannins, flavonoids, steroids, saponins, triterpenes, polyphenols as well as essential oils. So this research was conducted to develop the use of mango Bacang leaves and bay leaves as natural medicine. The sample was determined and identified in the laboratory of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Riau University. Furthermore, the mango Bacang and bay leaves were macerated using 96% ethanol and extracted until a thick extract was obtained which would then be tested for phytochemical screening on the Bacang mango leaf extract and bay leaf extract. The results obtained that the extract of mango Bacang leaf and bay leaf extract were positive for containing flavonoid compounds, saponins and tannins so that they could be developed to be used as natural remedies.

In the era of fast changing technology, training has become an integrated part of investment for accelerating transfer of technology to people of all walks of life. The well-established network of organizations spread over the length and breadth of the country. The budget spent on training has tremendously increased over the past few years. with this background the study under taken at Trichy district, Tamil Nadu state of a country India by employing purposive sampling procedure. Agricultural Engineering College & Research Institute, Kumulur is one of the constituent colleges of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University located in Trichy. It is a pioneer institute in Tamil Nadu doing research on Agricultural Engineering technologies and Machinery. It is being chosen by the Tamil Nadu Govt. for state level capacity development trainings of farmers under the Agricultural Technology Management Agency and Agrl. Engineering Department (AED). Using simple random sampling procedure 10 farmers (trainees) were selected from 18 Districts of Tamil Nadu who were visited the institution during the study period. (180 sample size). The major objectives, as study of socioeconomic profile and knowledge assessment during pre and post training on Farm Machineries, Bio-energy, Agricultural Processing, Soil and Water Conservation, Drip irrigation and improved Agricultural sciences. Among 180 respondents, Majority of them were old age group (38.89 %) studied primary education (30.00 %) equally spread in marginal and small land holdings (around 75 %), possessed high level of farming experience (38.89 %) had medium level of extension agency contact (47.78 %), possessed medium level of Information seeking behaviour (53.89 %) with a medium level of Innovativeness (42.78 %). Knowledge test was assessed prior to training, among 180 respondents, Majority of farmers belonged to the medium level of knowledge category on all six categories and the after training knowledge test showed that the respondents belonged to low level were distributed in medium to high level of knowledge category and the medium level was elevated to high level category. The alternate hypothesis (H1)was proved through ‘ t’ test that there was a significant difference prevailed in the knowledge level of the respondents acquired through the trainings conducted on the recently developed Agrl. Technologies and modern machineries.

Agricultural robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) are becoming essential to building more sustainable, efficient, and resilient food systems. As climate change, food security pressures, and labour shortages intensify, the integration of intelligent technologies in agriculture has gained strategic importance. This systematic review provides a consolidated assessment of AI and robotics research in agriculture from 2000 to 2025, identifying major trends, methodological trajectories, and underexplored domains. A structured search was conducted in the Scopus database—which was selected for its broad coverage of engineering, computer science, and agricultural technology—and records were screened using predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria across title, abstract, keywords, and eligibility levels. The final dataset was analysed through descriptive statistics and science-mapping techniques (VOSviewer, SciMAT). Out of 4894 retrieved records, 3673 studies met the eligibility criteria and were included. As with all bibliometric reviews, the synthesis reflects the scope of indexed publications and available metadata, and potential selection bias was mitigated through a multi-stage screening workflow. The analysis revealed four dominant research themes: deep-learning-based perception, UAV-enabled remote sensing, data-driven decision systems, and precision agriculture. Several strategically relevant but underdeveloped areas also emerged, including soft manipulation, multimodal sensing, sim-to-real transfer, and adaptive autonomy. Geographical patterns highlight a strong concentration of research in China and India, reflecting agricultural scale and investment dynamics. Overall, the field appears technologically mature in perception and aerial sensing but remains limited in physical interaction, uncertainty-aware control, and long-term autonomous operation. These gaps indicate concrete opportunities for advancing next-generation AI-driven robotic systems in agriculture. Funding sources are reported in the full manuscript.

Educators must adapt their teaching methods during the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure effective and captivating learning experiences that incorporate interactivity, challenges, motivation, and allow students to nurture their creativity and independence based on their individual talents and interests. At Islamic Village Elementary School, it is especially important to utilize engaging learning media since elementary students have a natural enthusiasm for new concepts. When selecting learning media, factors such as learning objectives, effectiveness, user-friendliness, and flexibility should be taken into consideration. Augmented Reality (AR) applications have emerged as an exciting advancement in learning media, particularly in helping students comprehend Natural Science subjects. Thus, an AR application has been developed as a learning tool for Natural Science at Islamic Village Elementary School, utilizing the Marker-Based Tracking AR method. The research aims to facilitate students' learning and understanding of the material while making the learning process more captivating and less monotonous. Within the application, objects are visually presented in 3D using animations, sound, and appealing colors. The research methodology encompasses literature review, field study, and sample calculations. The outcome of this research is a mobile application that serves as a supportive tool to enhance the learning experience.
