E-Quality for Manufacturing (EQM) Within the Framework of Internet-Based Systems

To explore the basic principles and methods of quality control of clinical registry research in the field of acupuncture. This study drawed on the data quality control methods of clinical trials in the United States and combined clinical practice experience, based on the "International Patient Registry Platform of Acupuncture and Moxibustion", and the registry study of acupuncture treatment for early-onset ovarian insufficiency as a model. The principles of accuracy, authenticity, consistency and completeness were followed. A remote and on-site quality control method with remote quality control as the main and on-site quality control as the supplement is formed, with a view to providing ideas and reference for the quality control of registry research.

We ask the question, “should High-level Synthesis (HLS) design be part of an undergraduate computer engineering education while learning digital system design?”. Current trends in industry include an increasing demand for engineers who can build FPGA systems. FPGAs, just like other chips, continue to improve in terms of complexity, speed, available resources, and new features. The design complexity for using an FPGA continues to grow and Hardware Description Languages (HDLs), though a step up in design efficiency compared to schematic design, is a low-level approach akin to assembly language for programmers, and HDLs limits the productivity of an engineer. HLS tools, such as Legup, Intel HLS, and Xilinx's Vivado attempt to provide designers with a higher-level design abstraction providing a means to describe their computation in high-level languages - such as C. As these tools become more mainstream in industry, when should education follow? In this work, we explore how HLS tools might be used by an undergraduate by looking at exemplar designs, a simple RISC-V processor and a basic C loop, and implementing the design in both HDL and HLS. We then analyze the FPGA cost of each implementation. Next, we provide a philosophical discussion based on this experience on what the pros and cons of moving students to HLS design abstraction level are.

Chapter 20 - Current trends and technologies in nutraceutical industry

This research work was undertaken to assess the application of quality control concepts in the production of masonry blocks for building projects in Imo State, Nigeria.The study was embarked upon in order to examine the different types of masonry blocks produced in the state, and to assess the level of quality control concepts applied in their production processes, using selected block industries in Owerri Municipality.The study also was aimed at finding out the educational qualifications of the workers at those block industries.The research was an attempt to search for answers to the problem of building and infrastructural collapse that has become rampant in Nigeria recently.Data for the research was collected through the views of the staff and management of the case study block industries and data analysis which was carried out by the use of percentages and frequency tables and chi-square statistical tool, revealed that the problem of low quality masonry blocks used in building projects were due to several latent factors like "time lag" between mixing and placing of mix into mould; mould of placing mix into mould before compaction; type of cement; and inappropriate sand-cement-water mixture ratio.These things were found to have great and decisive effects on the ultimate strength and quality of the building blocks.The research also revealed that poor mixing of cement, sand and water, lack of quality control measures and low quality sand were responsible for low quality blocks in many block producing small and medium scale industries.This situation is contributing to building and infrastructural collapse.The study therefore recommends that quality control concepts should be applied in the production of masonry blocks.The use of acceptance sampling tests for all the raw materials used in masonry block production and application of control-chart for work-in-process should be adopted.The pre-process, inprocess, and post-process inspections and testings must be carried out for the production and standardization of high-quality building blocks before the products are made available to the customer.

The journal aims to reduce energy usage that emits greenhouse gases by making products more productive and eco-friendlier. The writing deals with the issue of how the current trends in Industry 4.0 and AI systems can be used to protect the environment from the harms of pollution. It incorporates 1) conserving energy, implementing eco-friendlier workplaces, and reducing carbon footprints and 2) digital transformation with environmentally positive implications. Also, like in real manufacturing, it addresses the possibility of AI-driven manufacturing. It refers to Industry 5.0 as an evolutional road of communication and people and machines collaboration that transforms both society and individual; personalization as a result and higher productivity are just a few foundations to transform our perception of production and everyday life. Other Firstly, our guide will give some examples of preventive measures. This part stresses investing in R&D, collaborating, complying, and ensuring decision-making is informed by data running through the supply chain.

The food delivery service is the most typical and visible example of online-to-offline (O2O) commerce. More consumers are using food delivery services for various reasons during the COVID-19 pandemic, making this business model viral worldwide. In the post-pandemic era, offering food delivery services will become the new normal for restaurants. Although a growing number of publications have focused on consumer behavior in this issue, no review paper has addressed current research and industry trends. Thus, this paper aims to review the literature published from 2020 to the present (October 2022) on consumers' use of food delivery services during the pandemic. A thematic review was conducted, with 40 articles searched from Scopus and Web of Science being included. Quantitative findings showed current research trends, and thematic analyses formed eight themes of factors influencing consumer behavior: (1) technical and utilitarian factors, (2) system-related attributes, (3) emotional and hedonic factors, (4) individual characteristics, (5) service quality, (6) risk-related factors, (7) social factors, and (8) food-related attributes. The paper also emphasizes COVID-19-related influences and suggests promising future research directions. The results offer insights into industry practices and starting points for future research.

In this study, we used artificial intelligence (AI) technology to explore for automated medical record quality control methods, standardize the process for medical record documentation, and deal with the drawbacks of manually implemented quality control. In this study, we constructed a medical record quality control system based on AI. We first designed and built, for the system, a quality control rule base based on authoritative standards and expert opinions. Then, medical records data were automatically collected through a data acquisition engine and were converted into structured data through a post-structured engine. Finally, the medical record quality control engine was combined with the rule base to analyze the data, identify quality problems, and realize automated intelligent quality control. This system was applied to the quality control of medical records and five quality control points were selected, including similarities in the history of the present illness, defects in the description of chief complaints, incomplete initial diagnosis, missing in formation in the history of menstruation, marriage, and childbirth, and mismatch between the chief complaints and the history of the present illness. We randomly selected 2 918 medical records of patients discharged in January 2022 to conduct AI quality control. Then we organized medical record quality control experts to conduct an accuracy review, made a comparison with previous manual quality control records, and analyzed the results. The number of quality problems that were verified in the accuracy review was taken as the gold standard and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were drawn for the 5 quality control points. According to the accuracy review performed by medical record quality control experts, the accuracy of AI quality control reached 89.57%. For the sampled medical records, the results of AI quality control were compared with those of previous manually performed quality control and only one problem detected by manual quality control of the sampled medical records was not detected by the AI quality control system. The number of medical record quality problems correctly detected by AI quality control was about 2.97 times that of manual quality control. Analysis of the ROC curves showed that the AUC of the five quality control points of the AI quality control system were statistically significant (P<0.05) and all the AUC values approximated or exceeded 0.9. In contrast, results obtained through manually performed quality control found significant AUC (0.797) for only one quality control point-similarities in the history of present illness (P<0.05). Comparison of the AUC values of the two quality control methods showed that AI quality control system had an advantage over manually performed quality control for the five quality control points. Through the application of medical record quality control system based on AI, efficient full quality control of medical record documentation can be achieved and the detection rate of quality problems can be effectively improved. In addition, the system helps save manpower and improve the quality of medical record documentation.

This paper presents a variety of viewpoints from engineers within the power cable industry as to how current trends in the cable industry will influence future cable designs, particularly with polymeric insulation, lapped dielectrics, and improved diagnostic techniques. The use of high-temperature superconductors and designer polymers as well as the possible availability of conducting polymeric materials is also considered.The paper first reviews how the design of distribution cables has differed historically around the world, the major differences being allied to the systems. Designs largely have been divided into two main categories: those countries following U.K. and European practices, and those having adopted the U.S. system design. However, these differences, such as the use of three-phase cables in the U.K. as opposed to single-phase cables in the U.S., are not so obvious nowadays. Installation practices are becoming rather more standardized, such as the use of ducts, directional drilling, etc. The predominant primary insulation is cross-linked polyethylene (including tree-retardant XLPE), which is used all around the world. Some constructional differences such as the “dry” and “wet” designs persist. The paper then discusses cables from the mid–twentieth century projected into the twenty-first century. Highlighted are the opportunities that will present themselves in the twenty-first century: fluid-filled cables, XLPE cables, intelligent cables, and designer polymers that optimize performance and economic advantages of buried cables. It then focuses on economic trends, power generation trends, lower-cost underground systems, overhead line/underground cables, and materials and environmental trends including use of high-temperature conductors to up-rate overhead circuits. The trend will be toward greater security and utilization using on-line diagnostics, greater circuit diversity due to distributed generation and lower cost cable systems, and extensive use of polymeric materials having low environmental impact.A futuristic view of energy cables in the year 2050 is presented. Discussed are the elements of the “info-energy cable,” the advantages of the cable technology, and the advantages for the network configuration. A realistic view of tendencies in cable systems technology over the next decade is outlined. Also discussed is choice of cable for subsea power links: choice of cable design that exists for subsea power links, the merits of the various designs, installation of submarine cables, protection of submarine cables, new challenges in HVdc submarine cable systems, and future developments. The manufacture and installation of long continuous lengths of subsea power cable is discussed with reference to some key installations. The paper goes on to examine the Kontex HVdc link between Denmark and Germany. The cable link has been in commercial operation since 1996, and with a total length of 172 km and a transmission capacity of 600 MW at 400 kV is still unique worldwide. Details of the link together with its installation and commissioning are explained.Gas-insulated transmission lines are also discussed together with whether they are ready for real-world transmission systems.

Context: Current trends in the automotive industry like automated driving, machine intelligence, and digitisation introduce more and more complex functions and their interplay in in-vehicle architectures. To cope with this complexity, car makers are introducing particularly tailored service-oriented architectures. Aim: We aim at developing a formal and methodological approach to model and structure automotive service architectures. Method: We present a formal model to specify and group automotive service-oriented architectures following a classification scheme. Furthermore, a well-defined property model is introduced facilitating the specification and verification of deployment and run-time requirements. The approach is illustrated using a realistic case example. Conclusion: The presented approach works well for the used case example but needs to be further evaluated in depth in the future. However, we strongly believe that the framework is promising and will receive further attention in future work.

Current trends in automotive industry impose as main drivers the improvement of the efficiency and the miniaturization of the electronic systems. New technologies for passives enable the integration of inductor based power converter together with the load in a single chip. Due to the complexity of the system and various constraints, multi-variable optimization needs to be employed. This study presents an energy-based piece-wise linear model for switches losses estimation for 40 nm automotive approved semiconductor technology used for implementation of PwrSoC buck converter system. The model, based on discrete number of calculations performed with Spice simulations, is presented in detail in this study and it is validated experimentally.

Current Trends in Contents Industry and Cooperation between Korea and China

This paper aims to build on the strong emphasis that was placed on safety in the Sydney AITES-ITA Congress in March 2002. It will do this by comparing safety records from some major tunnelling projects in Europe and Australia over a period commencing in the second half of the 19th Century to the second half of the 20th Century and examining reasons for the apparent marked improvement that appeared in the 1980s. Further by looking at the relationship between this improvement and current trends in the Australian industry by means of a detailed review of the safety record for the Northside Storage Tunnel project in Sydney which was completed in mid-2000. The paper will conclude by providing a summary of the progressive approach adopted by the Minerals Industry in Australia and summarising the current state of tunnelling and underground construction in Australia with respect to recently completed projects and potential major initiatives.

Developing a micro-simulation tool for autonomous connected vehicle platoons used in city logistics

Current trends in the aviation industry are aimed at upgrading avionics and replacing mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems in favor of electrical systems. The article contains an analytical review of the starting devices of the gas turbine engine of an aircraft. The article analyzes the starting characteristics of an aircraft gas turbine engine, as well as the requirements for the design of electric starting devices of an aircraft engine. Options for building starter-generator systems to increase the level of electrification of aircraft onboard equipment, within the framework of the concept of “more electric aircraft”, are considered. Along with increasing the level of electrification, the problem of increasing the energy efficiency of existing electrical equipment of aircraft is acute. One of the criteria for the effective use of aviation equipment is the introduction of multifunctional onboard units and units. According to this criterion it is advisable to combine the starter and generator of the auxiliary power unit in one module.
