EDMS : Concepts, Motivations and Basic Requiremes

For the European XFEL more than 800 superconducting cavities need to be treated. At least 65 quality documents per cavity have to be emitted and transferred to DESY by the vendor; two acceptance levels must be passed successfully to release a cavity for transportation to DESY. All quality documents, non-conformity reports and acceptance levels are automatically processed by using DESY’s Engineering Data Management System (EDMS). We summarize documentation methods, document transfer procedures, review and release processes; we describe the exchange of process information between customer and vendor; and report about experiences.

It is an undeniable fact that software plays an important role in our lives. We use the software to play our music, to check our e-mail, or even to help us drive our car. Thus, the quality of software directly influences the quality of our lives. However, the traditional Software Engineering paradigm is not able to cope with the increasing demands in quantity and quality of produced software. Thus, a new paradigm of Model Driven Software Engineering (MDSE) is quickly gaining ground. MDSE promises to solve some of the problems of traditional Software Engineering (SE) by raising the level of abstraction. Thus, MDSE proposes the use of models and model transformations, instead of textual program files used in traditional SE, as means of producing software. The models are usually graph-based, and are built by using graphical notations – i.e. the models are represented diagrammatically. The advantages of using graphical models over text files are numerous, for example it is usually easier to deduce the relations between different model elements in their diagrammatic form, thus reducing the possibility of defects during the production of the software. Furthermore, formal model transformations can be used to produce different kinds of artifacts from models in all stages of software production. For example, artifacts that can be used as input for model checkers or simulation tools can be produced. This enables the checking or simulation of software products in the early phases of development, which further reduces the probability of defects in the final software product. However, methods and techniques to support MDSE are still not mature enough. In particular methods and techniques for model configuration management (MCM) are still in development, and no generic MCM system exists. In this thesis, I describe my research which was focused on developing methods and techniques to support generic model configuration management. In particular, during my research, I focused on developing methods and techniques for supporting model evolution and model co-evolution. Described methods and techniques are generic and are suitable for a state-based approach to model configuration management. In order to support the model evolution, I developed methods for the representation, calculation, and visualization of state-based model differences. Unlike in previously published research, where these three aspects of model differences are dealt with in separation, in my research all these three aspects are integrated. Thus, the result of model differences calculation algorithm is in the format which is described by my research on model differences representation. The same representation format of model differences is used as a basis of my approach to differences visualization. It is important to notice that the developed representation format for model differences is metamodel independent, and thus is generic, i.e., it can be used to represent differences between all graph-based models. Model co-evolution is a term that describes the problem of adapting models when their metamodels evolve. My solution to this problem has three steps. In the first step a special metamodel MMfMM is introduced. Unlike in traditional approaches, where metamodels are represented as instances of a metametamodel, in my approach the metamodels are represented by models which are instances of an MMfMM. In the second step, since metamodels are represented by models, previously defined methods and techniques for model evolution are reused to represent and calculate the metamodel differences. In the final step I define an algorithm that uses the calculated metamodel differences to adapt models conforming to the evolved metamodel. In order to validate my approaches to model evolution and model co-evolution, I have developed a tool for comparing models and visualizing resulting differences, and a tool for model co-evolution. Moreover, I have developed a method to compare tools for model comparison, and using this method I have conducted a series of experiments in which I compared the tool I developed to an industrial tool called EMFCompare. The results of these experiments are also presented in the thesis. Furthermore, in order to validate my tool and approach to model co-evolution, I have also specified and conducted several experiments. The results of these experiments are also presented in the thesis.

The study under analysis is currently being developed and aims to identify the relationship between Human Resources Management Practices and Worker Motivation.Methodologically, it is based on bibliographical research, documentary analysis and surveys by questionnaire and interview.The structure integrates two points: In the first point a brief summary will be made on the problem to be studied, namely the human resource management practices and the motivation; In section two we will explain the objectives of the project at a general and specific level as well as the methodological options regarding the type of approach, methods and techniques for collecting and processing information.

The paper announced the scientific study of the dynamic capabilities of the enterprises in the development of public-private partnerships and management of forms of property, as well as the influence of regional peculiarities in the organization of inter-firm relationships. A separate aspect of the study is to consider the logistics opportunities in the organization of business, institutional barriers and support capabilities immediate environment and key competitors. The South Ural region is renowned for its industrial enterprises and is an ideal area for exploring publicprivate partnership in Russia and its impact on productivity and development dynamics. Exploring organization development peculiarities in institutional environment of a country is an important task because it opens opportunities of understanding profound reasons of organization behaviour on industry market. Nevertheless common theories explaining competitive advantages and organization strategic indexes neglect organization peculiarities of capital nature and share of public ownership. The intellectual data analysis characterizing organization dynamic capabilities of government’s public-private ownership with competitive advantages and institutional aspects in countries and regions lets to explore cultural peculiarities of Russian business. Nowadays it is not explored enough and needs system organization and monitoring.

The article examines the features of formation of competitive advantages, the depth of theoretical and methodological basis for the formation of competitive advantages at an enterprise. The author has reviewed the approaches to the formation of stable and long-term competitive advantages. The author has also overviewed the requirements which are to be met by competitive advantages of a company and the factors that affect the possibility of competitive advantages.The author develops her own approach to the definition of «competitive enterprise strategy», suggests to understand the concept as the perspective of company development, the way of achieving the goals a company sets for itself guided by its policy, using internal and external competitive advantages.The author implements the model of strategic management of enterprise development based on competitive advantage creating. The suggested model will take into account the maximum possible factors that impact on the development and implementation of strategies. Due to the model risks will also be reduced. The paper determines that the important stage of enterprise development strategic management based on competitive advantage creating is the management of changes and the management of resistance to changes caused by the influence of factors of external and internal environment.

THE PURPOSE OF THE ARTICLE is to establish the importance and relevance of marketing innovations in the company's activities and to determine their impact on managing the competitiveness of business entities as a whole. RESEARCH METHODS. Various methods were used to research marketing innovations and competitiveness: analysis of special literature and views of scientists; methods of empirical research; method of abstraction, grouping and illustration; method of system analysis, etc. The use of these methods can be comprehensive for the best study of marketing innovations and management of competitiveness in the activities of various enterprises. PRESENTING MAIN MATERIAL. It has been established that the relevance and importance of marketing innovations is constantly growing in the conditions of a rapidly changing business environment, where new technologies, changes in consumer habits, competitive pressure and other factors require stakeholders to constantly adapt and introduce innovations into the marketing strategies of business entities. In the conditions of rapid changes in the market and the growing complexity of the business environment, marketing innovation is becoming a key tool for achieving success and sustainability of companies. Companies that actively innovate in their marketing usually have a better chance of attracting consumer attention and staying competitive. Marketing innovations are innovative approaches and strategies in the field of marketing aimed at attracting the attention of consumers, improving the competitiveness of a product or brand, as well as optimizing marketing processes. Marketing innovations can vary depending on the industry, the market and the specifics of the business, helping the company to take a stronger position in the market and provide a competitive advantage. Competitiveness management requires continuous improvement of products, processes, communications and strategies to meet changes in demand, technology and consumer preferences. The importance of marketing innovations in managing the competitiveness of the enterprise is manifested in the following positive aspects: understanding of the market and customers; development of products and services; effective marketing; increasing the efficiency of operations; interaction with clients; adaptation to changes in market conditions. CONCLUSIONS. Because of the conducted theoretical research, we established that marketing innovations are the introduction of innovative approaches, strategies, tools or technologies into the marketing activities of the enterprise with the aim of improving performance, attracting the attention of customers and ensuring competitive advantages. The main goal of marketing innovation is to introduce innovations in marketing, meet the changing needs of consumers and optimize interaction with the audience. Marketing innovation has been found to be an important factor in a competitive environment, as it allows companies to adapt to a rapidly changing market and provide sustainable competitive advantages. The ability to adapt to new trends and implement innovations can be a key element of success in modern business and increasing the competitiveness of an enterprise. Effective implementation of marketing innovations allows you to adapt to dynamic market changes, satisfy customer needs as much as possible and manage the competitiveness of the enterprise more effectively. It was established that it is important for the enterprise not only to introduce new ideas, but also to constantly adapt its strategy in accordance with changes in market conditions and customer requirements. It was determined that the effectiveness of marketing innovations for the enterprise depends on: the growth of profitability; customer satisfaction; market share; innovative competitiveness; investments in marketing; speed of implementation; employee engagement. Abstract: In today's business environment, where global competition grows every day, being successful only in domestic market is no longer enough. Globalization allowed free flow of capital, goods, information, people, and set new demands for companies which want to succeed in international market. This refers not only to the way of how companies operate their business but also on how companies manage their human capital. With changes in the international markets and company’s human resources politics, expatriates become a key factor of competitive advantages in the international construction market. Firms have developed climate change strategies over the last decade in response to rising regulatory, social and competitive pressures. Increasingly, these strategies include the development of new products and services (P&S) to reducing the environmental impact of the firm and its customers. In this paper, I explore how managerial interpretation of climate change has evolved over time and how these changes in interpretation are associated with innovation outcomes. The existing literature suggests that interpreting environmental challenges as opportunities is more likely to lead to open and innovative strategies. Using qualitative survey data on 99 Global 500 firms over the period 2003 to 2009, I find that threat-based interpretation can in fact lead to positive innovation outcomes at early stages of new P&S development. I identify three main mechanisms through which the detailed identification of threats encourages innovation in response to climate change. Furthermore, I develop a temporal dimension to the relationship between interpretation and stages of P&S development. I find that at advanced stages of P&S development, a balanced and opportunity-focused interpretation becomes more important. The results imply that managerial interpretation can provide firms with added flexibility to provide innovative responses to social and environmental challenges. But the relationship between interpretation and innovation is not static, nor is it a question of threat or opportunity interpretation but a combination of the two at different times that provides flexibility.

: The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of work motivation on the performance of employees of the Office of Management of Market Hygiene and Gardening Bireuen District. This research uses quantitative research. The population in this study were employees of the Bireuen Market and Sanitation Market Management Agency, with a sample size of 42 employees. Data were collected by filling out the questionnaire, then the data was processed quantitatively. The results showed that the results partially (Test t) obtained t value for the motivation variable of 3.180 and t-table of 1.684 with a significance value of 0.003. Using the 0.05 significance level. So t-count is bigger than t-table (3,180> 1,684) thus motivation variable positively influence to work performance officer of Office of Market Management of Hygiene And Gardening. Based on the results simultaneously (f test) it can be explained f-count value of 6.032, while the f-table at the level of significance of 5% or 0.05 is 4.08. This shows that f-arithmetic> f-table with a significance level of 0.003. From the results of this test it can be concluded that the variable of motivation has a positive effect on the performance of employees of the Office of Market Management of Hygiene and Gardening. This paper presents work in progress and the results obtained from a\ndevelopment project on personal development performed as a part of a curriculum\nreform work. The goal is to give the students a clear view of the challenges\nand possibilities that the future role as engineer offers and prepare for the\nexpectations put on the modern engineer such as being able to integrate\npersonal, professional and interpersonal skills. The result of this study is\nthat we define personal development as having two dimensions: the inner\ndimension which is about self-knowledge and the outer dimension which is about\nsocial ability. Four topics will be dealt with in the curriculum: motivation\nand learning; team work; leadership, and career and business.

How do dairy farms manage their human resources and how can the farms achieve competitive advantage through the human resource management (HRM) function? This inductive study of six dairy farms in Michigan explores those two questions using the resource-based theory (RBT) framework. Onsite interviews were conducted with 7 managers, 6 herdsmen and 7 non-supervisory employees. An interpretive research paradigm was used for both within case and between case analyses. Drawing insights from the RBT which postulates that valuable, rare, inimitable, and non-substitutable resources confer competitive advantage, results from this study indicate that dairy farms have the potential to achieve competitive advantage through their HRM function. While there are similar HRM practices across cases like recruiting and selection, the integration of specific HRM practices with the organizational culture (values of farm managers, relationships based on kinship and friendship ties) and resource endowment leads to different organizational outcomes (costly mistakes by employees, voluntary turnover and termination) Finally, based on propositions developed from this study and RBT literature, a conceptual framework is proposed to guide future research on how to empirically test the relationship between the HRM function and performance of farm enterprises to ascertain whether human resources are a potential source of sustained competitive advantage.

Water security problems are becoming more and more challenging in Iran for several reasons such as population growth, urbanization, land-use change, unsustainable water use and climate change. All the mentioned reasons result in an increase in the human exploitation of water resources and consequently increasing anthropogenic impacts on rivers, flood plains, and fresh groundwater. Therefore, assessment of the human pressures on rivers is particularly important to find areas where water resources are threatened and subjected to rapidly increasing anthropogenic effects. By this integrated approach, a successful Integrated Water Resources Management will be achieved to guide policy makers for best protection, restoration and management. In this regard, Southern Caspian Sea Basin Rivers (including Kura-South Caspian and Caspian Highland ecoregions) were studied in terms of human pressure types. Human pressures were analyzed at different spatial scales, and finally seven main pressure types (i.e. Land use, Hydrology, Morphology, Connectivity, Water quality, Biology) were defined in which the abundance and distributions of each pressure type was different. According to this study, most areas were impacted by land use pressure type followed by water quality. Moreover, most areas were threatened by multiple pressures.

Abstract. The study assessed teachers’ classroom management strategies, the level of teachers' classroom instructional tasks and determined the effect on students’ academic performance, and further examined the constraints in classroom management in secondary schools in Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State, Nigeria. Descriptive survey and ex post facto research designs were adopted. Five research questions and two hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. The sample consisted of 854 respondents, made up of 560 students, 280 teachers and 14 principals selected from 14 secondary schools using simple random sampling technique. Data were collected using “Teachers’ Classroom Management Strategies Questionnaire” (TCMSQ), and “Students’ Academic Performance Proforma” (SAPP). Data were analyzed, using percentage, mean score and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient at alpha level of 0.05. Findings showed significant relationship between teachers’ classroom management and students’ academic performance (r-cal = 0.307, p<0.05), and significant relationship between teachers' instructional tasks and students' academic performance (r-cal=0.689, p<0.05), while teachers were effective in classroom management strategies as reflected in preparation of lesson notes (71.4%), communication skill (63.6%), students’ motivation (62.5%), group interaction (71.4%) and exemplary behaviour (64.3%). The major constraints faced by teachers were excessive workload (56.4%), ill-equipped laboratory (57.9%), ill-equipped library (63.6%), shortage of instructional materials (64.3%), lack of students’ learning materials (64%) and congested class size (75%). Based on the findings, it was recommended that the Government should employ adequate number of qualified teachers to reduce instructional workload to manageable level. Also, Government in collaboration with the Parents - Teachers Association and other Development Partners should provide adequate learning facilities and materials that would improve classroom management and students’ learning outcome in secondary schools.
