Abstract

The design of a linear electron accelerator and transport system enabling simultaneous two-beamline operation of an Inverse Compton Source (ICS) is presented. This novel option for an ICS is enabled by an all-C-band linear accelerator and an innovative electron beam selection switchyard. The proposed accelerator and laser box configuration allows the exploitation of x-ray to gamma-ray photon energies with custom-selectable repetition patterns and one additional direct high-brightness electron beamline. Start-to-end simulations from the photocathode to the interaction points are supported by the engineering design of nonstandard components of the light source.
