Abstract

Elastic stable intramedullary nails are commonly used implant for fixation of unstable long bones in children. The removal of the nail can be cumbersome at times. The nail is commonly removed using pliers, and vice grip, and hammer. The removal of the nail, especially in the tibia and femur, can be at times difficult. A few other techniques have been described for the removal of nails, especially difficult ones. We describe and easy new technique for removal of nail, using used interlocking femur nail and hammer, which is easy and doesn’t need any special instrument.
