On 2nd-stage quantization of quantum cluster algebras
Let \(S(n)\) be the category of invariant subspaces of nilpotent operators with nilpotency index at most \(n\). Such submodule categories have been studied already in 1934 by Birkhoff, they have attracted a lot of attention in recent years, for example in connection with some weighted projective lines (Kussin, Lenzing, Meltzer). On the other hand, we consider the preprojective algebra \(\Pi _n\) of type \(\mathbb {A}_n\); the preprojective algebras were introduced by Gelfand and Ponomarev, they are now of great interest, for example they form an important tool to study quantum groups (Lusztig) or cluster algebras (Geiss, Leclerc, Schroer). We are going to discuss the connection between the submodule category \(\mathcal {S}(n)\) and the module category \(\hbox {mod}\;\Pi _{n-1}\) of the preprojective algebra \(\Pi _{n-1}\). Dense functors \(\mathcal {S}(n) \rightarrow \hbox {mod}\;\Pi _{n-1}\) are known to exist: one has been constructed quite a long time ago by Auslander and Reiten, recently another one by Li and Zhang. We will show that these two functors are full, dense, objective functors with index \(2n\), thus \(\hbox {mod}\;\Pi _{n-1}\) is obtained from \(\mathcal {S}(n)\) by factoring out an ideal which is generated by \(2n\) indecomposable objects. As a byproduct we also obtain new examples of ideals in triangulated categories, namely ideals \(\mathcal {I}\) in a triangulated category \(\mathcal {T}\) which are generated by an idempotent such that the factor category \(\mathcal {T}/\mathcal {I}\) is an abelian category.

Cluster-like coordinates in supersymmetric quantum field theory.
Recently it has become apparent that N = 2 supersymmetric quantum field theory has something to do with cluster algebras. I review one aspect of the connection: supersymmetric quantum field theories have associated hyperkähler moduli spaces, and these moduli spaces carry a structure that looks like an extension of the notion of cluster variety. In particular, one encounters the usual variables and mutations of the cluster story, along with more exotic extra variables and generalized mutations. I focus on a class of examples where the underlying cluster varieties are moduli spaces of flat connections on surfaces, as considered by Fock and Goncharov [Fock V, Goncharov A (2006) Publ Math Inst Hautes Études Sci 103:1-211]. The work reviewed here is largely joint with Davide Gaiotto and Greg Moore.

Maximal green sequences were introduced as combinatorical counterpart for Donaldson-Thomas invariants for 2-acyclic quivers with potential by B. Keller. We take the categorical notion and introduce maximal green sequences for hearts of bounded t-structures of triangulated categories that can be tilted indefinitely. We study the case where the heart is the category of modules over the preprojective algebra of a quiver without loops. The combinatorical counterpart of maximal green sequences for Dynkin quivers are maximal chains in the Hasse quiver of basic support τ-tilting modules. We show that a quiver has a maximal green sequence if and only if it is of Dynkin type. More generally, we study module categories for finite-dimensional algebras with finitely many bricks.

We find sufficient and necessary conditions for the category of Gorenstein projective modules of an artin algebra being an abelian category, and give another proof for the Auslander–Solberg correspondence which demonstrates the concrete form of the category of Gorenstein projective modules. Then we find a characterization for this category of Gorenstein projective modules. At last we give an example of this correspondence.

This leads to a module theoretic notion of quasitilted rings and their characterization as endomorphism rings of tilting objects in hereditary cocomplete abelian categories.

$Q$-systems are recursion relations satisfied by the characters of the restrictions of special finite-dimensional modules of quantum affine algebras. They can also be viewed as mutations in certain cluster algebras, which have a natural quantum deformation. In this paper, we explain the relation in the simply-laced case between the resulting quantum $Q$-systems and the graded tensor product of Feigin and Loktev. We prove the graded version of the $M=N$ identities, and write expressions for these as non-commuting evaluated multi-residues of suitable products of solutions of the quantum $Q$-system. This leads to a simple reformulation of Feigin and Loktev's fusion coefficients as matrix elements in a representation of the quantum $Q$-system algebra.

In this paper we study consequences of the results of Kang et al. [ Monoidal categorification of cluster algebras , J. Amer. Math. Soc. 31 (2018), 349–426] on a monoidal categorification of the unipotent quantum coordinate ring $A_{q}(\mathfrak{n}(w))$ together with the Laurent phenomenon of cluster algebras. We show that if a simple module $S$ in the category ${\mathcal{C}}_{w}$ strongly commutes with all the cluster variables in a cluster $[\mathscr{C}]$ , then $[S]$ is a cluster monomial in $[\mathscr{C}]$ . If $S$ strongly commutes with cluster variables except for exactly one cluster variable $[M_{k}]$ , then $[S]$ is either a cluster monomial in $[\mathscr{C}]$ or a cluster monomial in $\unicode[STIX]{x1D707}_{k}([\mathscr{C}])$ . We give a new proof of the fact that the upper global basis is a common triangular basis (in the sense of Qin [ Triangular bases in quantum cluster algebras and monoidal categorification conjectures , Duke Math. 166 (2017), 2337–2442]) of the localization $\widetilde{A}_{q}(\mathfrak{n}(w))$ of $A_{q}(\mathfrak{n}(w))$ at the frozen variables. A characterization on the commutativity of a simple module $S$ with cluster variables in a cluster $[\mathscr{C}]$ is given in terms of the denominator vector of $[S]$ with respect to the cluster $[\mathscr{C}]$ .

Methods and results from the representation theory of finite di- mensional algebras have led to many interactions with other areas of mathe- matics. Such areas include the theory of Lie algebras and quantum groups, commutative algebra, algebraic geometry and topology, and in particular the new theory of cluster algebras. The aim of this workshop was to further de- velop such interactions and to stimulate progress in the representation theory of algebras.

Cluster algebras were introduced by S. Fomin and A. Zelevinsky in connection with dual canonical bases. Let U U be a cluster algebra of type A n A_n . We associate to each cluster C C of U U an abelian category C C \mathcal {C}_C such that the indecomposable objects of C C \mathcal {C}_C are in natural correspondence with the cluster variables of U U which are not in C C . We give an algebraic realization and a geometric realization of C C \mathcal {C}_C . Then, we generalize the “denominator theorem” of Fomin and Zelevinsky to any cluster.

This is an introductory survey on cluster algebras and their (additive) categorification using derived categories of Ginzburg algebras. After a gentle introduction to cluster combinatorics, we review important examples of coordinate rings admitting a cluster algebra structure. We then present the general definition of a cluster algebra and describe the interplay between cluster variables, coefficients, c-vectors and g-vectors. We show how c-vectors appear in the study of quantum cluster algebras and their links to the quantum dilogarithm. We then present the framework of additive categorification of cluster algebras based on the notion of quiver with potential and on the derived category of the associated Ginzburg algebra. We show how the combinatorics introduced previously lift to the categorical level and how this leads to proofs, for cluster algebras associated with quivers, of some of Fomin-Zelevinsky's fundamental conjectures.
Read moreThe Tilting–Cotilting Correspondence
To a big $n$-tilting object in a complete, cocomplete abelian category ${\textsf{A}}$ with an injective cogenerator we assign a big $n$-cotilting object in a complete, cocomplete abelian category ${\textsf{B}}$ with a projective generator and vice versa. Then we construct an equivalence between the (conventional or absolute) derived categories of ${\textsf{A}}$ and ${\textsf{B}}$. Under various assumptions on ${\textsf{A}}$, which cover a wide range of examples (for instance, if ${\textsf{A}}$ is a module category or, more generally, a locally finitely presentable Grothendieck abelian category), we show that ${\textsf{B}}$ is the abelian category of contramodules over a topological ring and that the derived equivalences are realized by a contramodule-valued variant of the usual derived Hom functor.

In an abelian category $\mathscr{A}$ with small ${\rm Ext}$ groups, we show that there exists a one-to-one correspondence between any two of the following: balanced pairs, subfunctors $\mathcal{F}$ of ${\rm Ext}^{1}_{\mathscr{A}}(-,-)$ such that $\mathscr{A}$ has enough $\mathcal{F}$-projectives and enough $\mathcal{F}$-injectives and Quillen exact structures $\mathcal{E}$ with enough $\mathcal{E}$-projectives and enough $\mathcal{E}$-injectives. In this case, we get a strengthened version of the translation of the Wakamatsu lemma to the exact context, and also prove that subcategories which are $\mathcal{E}$-resolving and epimorphic precovering with kernels in their right $\mathcal{E}$-orthogonal class and subcategories which are $\mathcal{E}$-coresolving and monomorphic preenveloping with cokernels in their left $\mathcal{E}$-orthogonal class are determined by each other. Then we apply these results to construct some (pre)enveloping and (pre)covering classes and complete hereditary $\mathcal{E}$-cotorsion pairs in the module category.

We give an algebraic proof of the independence of Coxeter moves involved in the construction of positive representations of split-real quantum groups, thus completing a gap in the original construction. To do this, we propose a new quantized version of Lusztig’s Injectivity Lemma in the language of quantum cluster algebra, the proof of which by Tits’ Lemma reduces to calculations involving sequences of Coxeter moves forming rank 3 cycles. We give a new, constructive proof of Tits’ Lemma, and provide the required explicit computation of the quantum cluster mutations under these rank 3 cycles using certain cluster algebraic tricks via universally Laurent polynomials.
