Totally acyclic complexes
Abstract In this paper we characterize the relative Gorenstein weak global dimension of the Gorenstein $$\mathcal {B}$$ B -flat R-modules and projectively coresolved Gorenstein $$\mathcal {B}$$ B -flat R-modules recently studied by S. Estrada, A. Iacob, and M. A. Pérez, which are a relativisation of the ones introduced by J. Šaroch and J. Št’ovíchěk. As application we prove that the weak global dimension with respect to the Gorenstein $$\textrm{FP}_n$$ FP n -flat R-modules is finite over a Gorenstein n-coherent ring R and in this case coincides with the flat dimension of the right $$\textrm{FP}_n$$ FP n -injective R-modules. This result extends the known for Gorenstein flat modules over Iwanaga-Gorenstein and Ding-Chen rings. We also show that there is a close relationship between the relative global dimension of the Gorenstein $$\textrm{FP}_n$$ FP n -projectives and the Gorenstein weak global dimension respect to the class of Gorenstein $$\textrm{FP}_n$$ FP n -flat R-modules. We also get an hereditary and complete cotorsion triple and consequently a balanced pair.

On Presented Dimensions of Modules and Rings
We define the presented dimensions for modules and rings to measure how far away a module is from having an infinite finite presentation and develop ways to compute the projective dimension of a module with a finite presented dimension and the right global dimension of a ring. We also make a comparison of the right global dimension, the weak global dimension, and the presented dimension and divide rings into four classes according to these dimensions.

An R-module M is called Ding projective if there exists an exact sequence ⋯ → P1→ P0→ P0→ P1→ ⋯ of projective R-modules with M= Ker (P0→ P1) such that Hom (-,F) leaves the sequence exact whenever F is a flat R-module. In this paper, we develop some basic properties of such modules. Also, properties of Ding injective modules are discussed.
Read moreRelative Gorenstein global dimension
We study the relative Gorenstein projective global dimension of a ring with respect to a weakly Wakamatsu tilting module [Formula: see text]. We prove that this relative global dimension is finite if and only if the injective dimension of every module in Add[Formula: see text] and the [Formula: see text]-projective dimension of every injective module are both finite (indeed these three dimensions have a common upper bound). When RC satisfies some extra conditions we prove that the relative Gorenstein projective global dimension of [Formula: see text] is always bounded above by the [Formula: see text]-projective global dimension of [Formula: see text], these two dimensions being equal when the class of all [Formula: see text]-Gorenstein projective [Formula: see text]-modules is contained in the Bass class of [Formula: see text] relative to [Formula: see text]. Of course we also give the dual results concerning the relative Gorenstein injective global dimension.
Read moreGorenstein weak global dimension is symmetric
We study the Gorenstein weak global dimension of associative rings and its relation to the Gorenstein global dimension. In particular, we prove the conjecture that the Gorenstein weak global dimension is a left‐right symmetric invariant – just like the (absolute) weak global dimension.

We study some closely interrelated notions of Homological Algebra: (1) We define a topology on modules over a not-necessarily commutative ring R that coincides with the R-topology defined by Matlis when R is commutative. (2) We consider the class $$ \mathcal {SF}$$ of strongly flat modules when R is a right Ore domain with classical right quotient ring Q. Strongly flat modules are flat. The completion of R in its R-topology is a strongly flat R-module. (3) We prove some results related to the question whether $$ \mathcal {SF}$$ a covering class implies $$ \mathcal {SF}$$ closed under direct limits. This is a particular case of the so-called Enochs’ Conjecture (whether covering classes are closed under direct limits). Some of our results concern right chain domains. For instance, we show that if the class of strongly flat modules over a right chain domain R is covering, then R is right invariant. In this case, flat R-modules are strongly flat.

Valuation , Weak Global Dimension and Semihereditary in Amalgamated Algebra Along an Ideal
Let f : A! B be a ring homomorphism and J be an ideal of B. In this paper, we give a characterization of valuation, weak global dimension and semihereditary properties under a certain ring-theoretic construction called the amalgamation of A with B along J with respect to f (denoted by A ./ f J); introduced and studied by D’Anna, Finocchiaro and Fontana in 2009. Our aim is to generated new classes of commutative rings satisfying theses properties.
Read moreRemarks on Gorenstein Weak Injective and Weak Flat Modules
In this paper, we introduce Gorenstein weak injective and weak flat modules in terms of, respectively, weak injective and weak flat modules; the classes of Gorenstein weak injective and weak flat modules are larger than the classical classes of Gorenstein injective and flat modules. In this new setting, we characterize rings over which all modules are Gorenstein weak injective. Moreover, we discuss the relation between the weak cosyzygy and Gorenstein weak cosyzygy of a module, and also the stability of Gorenstein weak injective modules.

Let R be a ring and n be a positive integer. R is called left n-coherent, if every n-presented left R-module is $$(n+1)$$ -presented. A left R-module M is called (n, 0)-injective if Ext $$^1_R(V, M)=0$$ for every n-presented module V, a right R-module F is called (n, 0)-flat if Tor $$^R_1(F, V)=0$$ for every n-presented module V, a left R-module M is called (n, 0)-projective if $$\mathrm{Ext}^1_R(M, N)=0$$ for any (n, 0)-injective module N, and a right R-module M is called (n, 0)-cotorsion if $$\mathrm{Ext}^1_R(F, M)=0$$ for any (n, 0)-flat module F. We give some characterizations and properties of (n, 0)-projective modules and (n, 0)-cotorsion modules. n-coherent rings, n-hereditary rings and n-regular rings are characterized by (n, 0)-projective modules, (n, 0)-cotorsion modules, (n, 0)-injective modules and (n, 0)-flat modules.

We prove that ifR is a commutative ring such that each localization at a prime ideal has finite weak global dimension then everyR-module has a flat envelope if and only ifR is coherent and has weak global dimension less than or equal to two.
