Implementation of Dakon Game in Elementary School Mathematics Learning

Mathematics learning is assessed from the aspect of knowledge, but the cultivation of character values can also be integrated. The COVID-19 pandemic has shifted the procedure for learning mathematics from face-to-face to online learning. The purpose of this study was to identify how online learning can instill character values through mathematics learning in elementary schools. This was descriptive qualitative research conducted at Yogyakarta Special Region elementary school, which was selected through purposive mechanisms. The research subjects were selected by teachers in the elementary school. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation analysis. The results indicated that the identification of character values with online learning was prepared by the teacher by making learning tools such as syllabi, lesson plans, worksheets, teaching materials, and evaluations that integrated character values. Instilling character values was pursued by the teachers in creating learning videos for initial activities, core activities, and closing activities. Mathematics learning employed YouTube and WhatsApp media for discussion and collection of math assignments. Instilling character values in mathematics learning was very limited by teachers because of the obstacles that occur during the mathematics learning process, such as lack of technology, poor internet networks, inadequate internet packages, and teachers who have not mastered technology optimally.

Mathematics learning in elementary schools, especially in fractional materials, still faces significant challenges where around 70% of students show a passive attitude and lack of enthusiasm in the learning process. This research aims to develop an edugame-based 'MathQuest' learning media to improve the mathematics skills of elementary school students through an interactive learning approach. The research method uses Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model which includes the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The research was carried out at SDN Samar 1 with 30 subjects of 5th grade students, which were divided into a limited test group (10 students) and a broad test (20 students). The research instruments included expert validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. The results of the study showed that MathQuest learning media met the criteria very valid with a media expert validation score of 92.5% and a material expert validation score of 91.6%. From the practical aspect, the media obtained a score of 94% from teachers and 90% from students, indicating the category of very practical. The effectiveness test through the post test resulted in a score of 87.7% on the limited test and 90% on the broad test, indicating that the media is very effective in improving students' mathematical understanding. MathQuest succeeds in creating more interactive, engaging, and fun learning by combining educational elements and game features that motivate students to learn independently and think critically. This media can be implemented as an innovative solution to support the goals of mathematics learning in elementary schools that are relevant to the development of educational technology.

This study discusses the development of interactive multimedia learning media based on PowerPoint software in science learning in elementary schools. This study aims to produce interactive multimedia media, especially in science learning in elementary schools that are valid, practical, and effective. The type of research used is Research and Development (RnD). That is the development of interactive multimedia based on PowerPoint software in science learning. The development model used is the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and evaluation). The output of interactive multimedia based on PowerPoint Software is in the form of files that can be installed easily, making it easier for students in the learning process. Based on the research results, this interactive multimedia is valid, practical, and effective.

Following the journey of mathematics at the elementary school level, students often hear complaints when they have to explore concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. In such a dilemma, the need for innovation becomes even more pressing, as a way to carve out a vibrant next generation. The author sees that in learning mathematics, grade 3 students at SD Negeri 4 Citeureup lack enthusiasm for mathematics because this subject is often considered difficult. Overall, the process of implementing community service with a focus on education uses the jarimatics method to increase enthusiasm or motivation in studying mathematics for Citeureup 4 public elementary school students. The results of community service activities include the following: (a) achievement of the target number of participants. (b) the accuracy and skill of students working on multiplication problems. (c) achievement of activity objectives. After a series of training activities were carried out, finally we provided feedback questions from students. Do they feel happy and more motivated in learning mathematics? They all agree that they are happy and feel more motivated. To increase students' interest and motivation in learning mathematics, teachers should use good and effective methods to move and motivate students to be active in learning mathematics.

Learning motivation is an important factor that influences students’ success in mathematics learning. However, many students still have low motivation to learn mathematics because they perceive the subject as difficult and less interesting. Therefore, an appropriate strategy is needed to improve students’ learning motivation. This community service activity aimed to strengthen students’ motivation in learning mathematics through the implementation of the Successful Student Strategy (3S) for junior high school students in Cirebon Regency. The method used in this activity was a participatory mentoring approach consisting of several stages, namely socialization, training, learning practice, and reflection. The evaluation of the activity was conducted using a mathematics learning motivation questionnaire based on a Likert scale administered before and after the program, supported by observations of students’ learning activities during the implementation. The results showed that the implementation of the Successful Student Strategy (3S) was able to increase students’ motivation in learning mathematics. This improvement was indicated by the increase in the average motivation score from 3.02 before the activity to 4.10 after the activity. In addition, students also demonstrated higher participation in learning activities, greater confidence in solving mathematical problems, and increased willingness to express their opinions during discussions. These findings indicate that the Successful Student Strategy (3S) can serve as an effective alternative approach to enhance students’ motivation in mathematics learning. This community service activity is expected to contribute to improving the quality of mathematics learning in schools by strengthening students’ motivation and promoting more effective learning strategies.

The purpose of this research is to find out how students learn motivation in learning mathematics in class IV SDIT Al-Hidayah Pekanbaru. This type of research is qualitative research with a case study approach. This research was conducted at SDIT Al-Hidayah Pekanbaru with the sample being fourth grade students. Collection techniques used in this study include: interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis used was Miles and Huberman's qualitative data analysis. Based on the results of the data analysis that has been carried out, student motivation in learning mathematics in class IV SDIT Al-Hidayah Pekanbaru is still somewhat inadequate according to the aspects that have been researched and observed. As for signs such as a lack of student motivation in learning mathematics, namely, there are still many students who are lazy in learning or doing assignments given by the teacher while learning mathematics is in progress, there are still students who do not pay attention to the teacher and instead are engrossed in talking and playing with friends when the teacher is explaining in front of the class, there are still students who lack confidence, such as cheating on their friends and don't want to be ordered to do blackboard assignments, there are still students who are sleepy when learning mathematics is in progress, even though the learning environment is quite good.

This study aims to improve students' learning motivation through the use of the GeoGebra learning application in overcoming challenges related to student interest in mathematics learning, particularly at SDN 074 Ayudia, Bandung City, with a population of all students and a sample of 31 students from class VA. This study uses a quantitative research method with an explanatory research approach. The sampling technique used is probability sampling with simple random sampling, while the instruments used are questionnaires and tests. The data analysis requirements testing includes normality testing using Kolmogorov-Smirnov and linearity testing, with the hypothesis tested through correlation and regression analysis using SPSS version 26. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the GeoGebra application has a significant effect on students' mathematics learning motivation. The correlation analysis shows a very strong relationship between the two variables, with a correlation coefficient of 0.826, indicating that the use of the GeoGebra application can increase students' motivation in learning mathematics. This study also found that the GeoGebra application contributes 68.3% to the variation in students' learning motivation, showing that this technology has a significant impact on motivating students. This study implies that the GeoGebra application can be an effective learning tool to enhance students' motivation in mathematics learning.

Mathematics learning aims to build students’ intellectual, creative, and logical mindsets. This goal can be achieved if learning can be carried out optimally. With technological advances in the independent learning curriculum, there needs to be innovations in the implementation of Mathematics learning in elementary schools. This study aims to examine the innovation of mathematics learning models and media in elementary schools in the independent learning curriculum. The method used in this research is a qualitative method of literature study, by reviewing articles of national and international repute. The results of this study indicate that there are several innovations in the mathematics learning model including the realistic mathematical education (RME) model, open minded problem-based learning, STEAM, blended learning, auditory intellectually repetition (AIR), and computational thinking (CT). Reconstruction of disaster education: The role of indigenous disaster mitigation for learning in Indonesian elementary schools

This study aims to comprehensively analyze the nature of learning and instruction in elementary schools through a literature study approach. The review was conducted by examining various classical and modern learning theories, concepts of 21st-century learning, and the practical implications that emerge within the context of basic education. The data were obtained from academic books, national and international scientific journals, research reports, and various digital publications relevant to the topic. Based on the literature review, learning is understood as a complex process that results in changes in behavior, knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes through direct experience or social interaction. Effective instruction requires a paradigm shift from teacher-centered learning to student-centered learning, where teachers are no longer merely transmitters of information but act as facilitators, motivators, and guides in the learning process. The study also shows that the implementation of 21st-century learning in elementary schools demands the application of instructional strategies that stimulate critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and digital literacy. Learning must be designed to accommodate the developmental needs of children, particularly because elementary students are at the concrete operational stage, requiring real and contextual learning experiences. This study emphasizes that instructional quality will improve when planning, implementation, and evaluation are developed based on a deep understanding of children’s learning characteristics. This study aims to analyze the use of concrete learning media in mathematics learning at the elementary school level based on selected journal publications through a bibliometric approach using Scopus and Google Scholar databases published between 2019 and 2024. A total of 1,033 articles were initially identified during the search process, which were then filtered using inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in 54 relevant articles consisting of 53 from Google Scholar and 1 from Scopus. This research employed a literature review method with bibliometric analysis stages, including the identification of research trends, publication frequency, dominant keywords, and thematic developments related to concrete learning media in mathematics instruction. The findings indicate that the use of concrete media not only enhances students’ conceptual understanding of mathematics, but also contributes to increased learning motivation, critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Moreover, concrete media are considered effective in creating a more interactive and meaningful learning environment for elementary school students. The results of this study are expected to serve as a reference for researchers and education practitioners interested in examining research trends concerning the use of concrete learning media in mathematics education and to provide direction for future research.

This research and development aim to: (1) develop a valid and practical model so that it can improve students' motivation in learning mathematics, (2) know the effectiveness of the active learning based ARCS model. This research refers to the stages of research and development from Borg & Gall which has been modified by Sukmadinata into 3 stages, namely preliminary studies, product development, and product testing. Data analysis techniques used are descriptive qualitative and quantitative. The research finds that (1) active learning based on ARCS model is valid and practical to improve students' learning motivation in mathematics learning based on the assessment given by education experts of 77.94% (good category), material experts of 87.14% (excellent category), and practitioners of 96.56% (excellent category). (2) The result of the effectiveness test shows that the developed product is effective in increasing students' learning motivation in mathematics learning based on experimental results which shows p <0.05 on learning motivation which means there are significant differences in students who were taught using the ARCS model based on active learning.

The ability of mathematical understanding and motivation to learn is very necessary for students to take part in mathematics learning. This study aims to determine the increase in mathematical understanding and learning motivation of students who obtain mathematics learning through contextual approach using autograph software with students who obtain conventional mathematics learning, and analyze the interactions based on the level of students' initial mathematical abilities. This research is an experimental with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study was all Year 10 students at SMK Negeri 1 Meulaboh, Aceh, Indonesia, the sample was 60 students with randomly selected from 165. Data analysis was performed by two-way ANOVA. The results showed that there was an increase in the ability of mathematical understanding and learning motivation of students through contextual approach using autograph software better than conventional learning; there is no interaction between learning approaches and students' initial mathematical abilities towards mathematical understanding ability, and there is an interaction between learning approaches and students' initial mathematical abilities towards student learning motivation. The teacher is expected to be able to expand the application of learning with a software-assisted contextual approach to improve students' mathematical understanding and motivation.

Cultural learning in elementary schools (SD) has an important role in building national identity and instilling local wisdom values from an early age. However, students' low interest in cultural learning is a challenge for educators. The development of digital technology, especially Augmented Reality (AR), offers innovative solutions in enhancing a more interactive and engaging learning experience. This research aims to explore the role of local Indonesian indigenous culture-based AR media, particularly related to Javanese cultural elements, in improving the cultural understanding of elementary school students. A qualitative method was employed, involving semi-structured interviews with three elementary school teachers from Taman, Buduran, and Candi Districts in Sidoarjo Regency. The findings indicate that teachers are aware of the importance of cultural learning but face challenges in making the content appealing to students. AR is perceived as a promising tool to increase engagement by visualizing cultural objects such as traditional houses, clothing, and folklore through interactive media. However, barriers such as limited digital infrastructure, insufficient teacher training, and lack of localized AR content remain significant obstacles. In conclusion, while AR technology has strong potential to enhance cultural learning in Indonesian elementary schools, its success depends on cross-sectoral collaboration in content development, ongoing teacher professional development, and improved access to supporting technologies.

This study aims to analyze the use of interactive learning media in mathematics learning in elementary schools. The research method used was a systematic literature review. The analysis results indicate that the use of interactive learning media such as digital applications, augmented reality, educational games, and manipulative media significantly improves students' understanding of mathematical concepts, motivation, and learning outcomes. Furthermore, interactive media has proven effective in creating enjoyable, contextual, and student centered learning environments. These findings confirm that interactive learning media not only facilitate conceptual understanding but also strengthen students' critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and positive attitudes toward mathematics in the 21st century. It is concluded that interactive learning media is an effective strategy for improving the quality of elementary mathematics education through innovative and technology-integrated learning.
