Improvement of service machine maintenance

The aim of this paper is to address the energy-efficient scheduling problems in the hybrid flow shop problem (HFSP) with machine maintenance. For this aim, the mixed integer programming model (MIPM) considering energy consumption and machine maintenance is proposed firstly. Given the NP-hard nature of the model, a hybrid multi-objective algorithm (HMOA) combining an improved algorithm based on the Non-Dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm (NSGA-II-imp) with a heuristic algorithm is developed to solve MIPM. The NSGA-II-imp designs a new elite remained strategy for the purpose of balancing two conflict objectives and a heuristic algorithm is mainly designed to add machine maintenance during production scheduling. Finally, the proposed algorithm is compared to GA, SA-GA, NSGA-II separately based on extensive numerical experiments. Results show the effectiveness of the algorithm in this paper.

The objectives of the current paper are, firstly a treat of two principal elements in any manufacturing system that's are, the maintenance of an equipment and quality of product. These two elements are generally treated almost in isolation from different approaches. The second objective is a design of meta-model approach using multi-agent system on quality control and machine maintenance in production system. The agent-based system framework, in which various intelligent agents worked together to perform maintenance tasks and quality control in an autonomous and collaborative way, is addressed.

The need to manage machine maintenance effectively has gained more importance due to the high rate of changing operational technologies, changing market demands, increased emphasis on employee safety, and new environmental legislation. To demonstrate the purpose of maintenance in the manufacturing value chain, the study sought to investigate the relationship between machine maintenance type and quality of output as well as to establish whether machine maintenance contributes to quality of output among Ghanaian manufacturing firms. Data was collected from 150 manufacturing firms in Tema and Accra Metropolis by using questionnaire and analyzed with SPSS and SmartPLS software. The findings showed significantly direct relationship between all the maintenance types, except corrective maintenance, and quality of output. Therefore, if a company minimizes breakdown maintenance, quality defects are also minimized. Hence, adopting preventive maintenance help reduce cost of repairs and unplanned stoppages in the production process.

The purpose of this study is to find out and analyze the influence of variable maintenance costs of production machinery and labor productivity on production volume in the Mukena Arrinda Collection Convection. The research method used is a case study. The data used is primary data and secondary data. Namely production machine maintenance cost data, labor productivity data, and production volume data for the period 2018-2021. Based on the results of research, it is known that the cost of maintenance (maintenance) of production machines and labor productivity simultaneously has a significant effect on production volume. The cost of maintenance (maintenance) of production machines partially affects the production volume. Labor productivity partially affects the volume of production. Therefore, the Mukena Arrinda Collection Convection must pay appropriate machine maintenance costs and pay attention to labor productivity so that the production volume increases.

Loading and hauling machines are of the most important operational units in open pit mines, which their failure can lead to reduction in production and profitability of mines. Therefore, it is very important to do a reliability and maintainability analysis of mining machines in order to make a better decision with respect to operation and maintenance of machines as well as production control in the mine. Awareness of transport units operational conditions and precise control over them are the key elements for preventing unwanted stops and improving the performance of machines. The aim of this study is to evaluate the reliability and maintainability of loading and hauling equipment in Golegohar Mine No. 1 in Iran, which produce 12 million tons of iron ore annually. For this purpose, the failure data of transport units including dump trucks, mining shovels and backhoe excavators were collected over a period of one year. Then the data were analyzed based on the statistical method to produce the reliability and maintainability parameters of each mining equipment. The time corresponding to reliability and maintainability levels of 90 and 50 percent are also calculated and presented.

This community service aims to design and build a sambel pecel grinding machine as an appropriate technological solution for small business actors. Small businesses, especially pickle sauce producers, often face obstacles in the production process which are still manual and require considerable time and effort. Through a technological engineering approach, this activity produces a prototype of a grinding machine that is efficient, easy to operate, and in accordance with the needs of micro-scale business actors. The implementation method includes surveying partner needs, designing machine designs, manufacturing units, and functional trials in the field. The results of the activity show that this machine is able to increase production capacity up to 3 times compared to manual methods, reduce work fatigue, and improve the consistency of texture and taste of sambel pecel. In addition, service partners receive training on the use and maintenance of machines, so that the sustainability of their use can be maintained. This innovation is expected to be a model for the application of other appropriate technologies in supporting the independence and productivity of small business actors in the traditional food sector.

Disassembly is a key step in remanufacturing and recycling, both of which are critical components in a circular economy. Disassembly is also a common operation in the repair and maintenance of machines and public infrastructure facilities (e.g. transport and energy). In many ways, disassembly is challenging to robotise due to variability in the condition of the returned products and the required dexterity in robotic manipulations. Unlike the tasks that have no physical contacts (e.g. computer visual inspection) or simple contacts (e.g. cutting, welding, pick-and-place), disassembly usually involves complex contact problems. Compared to the assembly of new products, which is deterministic because the components to be assembled are of known geometries, dimensions and states, disassembly is more stochastic as it has to contend with used products of uncertain shapes, sizes and conditions. This talk reviews progress that has been made at Birmingham in the area of robotic disassembly and emerging opportunities.

Investment in maintenance of machines is significant for industries. In this paper, we suggest a Cost Benefit Analysis model and review most commonly used maintenance strategies like corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance with the model. Here, we presented a method to calculate net revenue generated by machine for optimal and cost effective alternative for machine maintenance. Method used for calculating net revenue is improved using factors such as labor cost, failure rate, utilization factor etc. Formulated net revenue provides satisfactory results when compared with the industrial information on machine maintenance strategies. Realistic data are used to analyze revenue with different maintenance strategies. From the results it is concluded that though condition based maintenance as a maintenance strategy has high initial investment cost with time it has high revenue generation compared to other maintenance polices.
