Abstract

The performance of a programmer can be defined as skills in solving problems or challenges. A programmer produces source codes. There are types of source code: physical line of code (PLOC) is the source code without comments and whitespace whereas the logical line of code (LLOC) is the source code in the form of statements. In the previous work, an attempt to measure programmer performance was proposed and implemented in a tool called Prometer. The tool uses LOC as the sole metric. In this work, we added PLOC and LLOC to give a more complete measurement result. We collected historical data from GitHub repositories. We cloned and parsed the repositories to find authors and the contributed codes. We count the number of PLOC and LLOC besides LOC. Lastly, we generated the performance score based on their influence score. The programmer performance is obtained from the sum of scores on each metric.
