Abstract

Mobile devices are becoming increasingly common place among users, particularly corporate personnel. The Mobile devices pose a greater danger to corporate security than PCs according to their larger attack surface. Mobiles are used by individuals and enterprises for a variety of purposes including planning and organizing professional life. This led to significantly altering how information systems and Mobile applications are structured, consequently, Cyber Security safeguards all data on Mobiles, other computing and network devices. Raising awareness about Mobile security threats and recommended practices has become a primary focus due to the continuous emergence of new vulnerabilities in Mobile devices. There is an emergency need to adopt approaches and best practices to secure Mobiles, computing devices and their connected networks to defence against threats and attacks. To address these significant challenges, this paper aims to identify and describe in details the well-known Mobile threats and attacks. The paper recommends a set of Mobile security best practices that were suggested for Mobile users and organizations to secure their mobile devices against different types of threats and attacks.
