Integral Cayley graphs over dicyclic group
In this paper, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for the integrality of Cayley graphs over the dihedral group $$D_n=\langle a,b\mid a^n=b^2=1,bab=a^{-1}\rangle $$ . Moreover, we also obtain some simple sufficient conditions for the integrality of Cayley graphs over $$D_n$$ in terms of the Boolean algebra of $$\langle a\rangle $$ , from which we find infinite classes of integral Cayley graphs over $$D_n$$ . In particular, we completely determine all integral Cayley graphs over the dihedral group $$D_p$$ for a prime p.

On finite groups with prescribed two-generator subgroups and integral Cayley graphs
In this paper, we characterize the finite groups đș of even order with the property that, for any involution đ„ and element đŠ of đș, âš x , y â© \langle x,y\rangle is isomorphic to one of the following groups: Z 2 \mathbb{Z}_{2} , Z 2 2 \mathbb{Z}_{2}^{2} , Z 4 \mathbb{Z}_{4} , Z 6 \mathbb{Z}_{6} , Z 2 Ă Z 4 \mathbb{Z}_{2}\times\mathbb{Z}_{4} , Z 2 Ă Z 6 \mathbb{Z}_{2}\times\mathbb{Z}_{6} and A 4 A_{4} . As a result, a characterization will be obtained for the finite groups all of whose Cayley graphs of degree 3 have integral spectrum.

Three-state quantum walk on the Cayley Graph of the Dihedral Group
The finite dihedral group generated by one rotation and one reflection is the simplest case of the non-abelian group. Cayley graphs are diagrammatic counterparts of groups. In this paper, much attention is given to the Cayley graph of the dihedral group. Considering the characteristics of the elements in the dihedral group, we propose a model of three-state discrete-time quantum walk (DTQW) on the Caylay graph of the dihedral group with Grover coin. We derive analytic expressions for the position probability distribution and the long-time limit of the return probability starting from the origin. It is shown that the localization effect is governed by the size of the underlying dihedral group, coin operator and initial state. We also numerically investigate the properties of the proposed model via the probability distribution and the time-averaged probability at the designated position. The abundant phenomena of three-state Grover DTQW on the Caylay graph of the dihedral group can help the community to better understand and to develop new quantum algorithms.

The method of constructing the generalized dihedral group as a semidirect product of an abelian group and the group Z2 of integers modulo 2 is extended to the case of gyrogroups. This leads to the study of a new class of gyrogroups, which includes generalized dihedral groups and dihedral groups as a special case. In this article, we show that any dihedralizable gyrogroup can be enlarged to a dihedralized gyrogroup. Then, we establish algebraic properties of dihedralized gyrogroups as well as combinatorial properties of their Cayley graphs.

A Cayley graph of a group $H$ is a finite simple graph $\Gamma$ such that ${\rm Aut}(\Gamma)$ contains a subgroup isomorphic to $H$ acting regularly on $V(\Gamma)$, while a Haar graph of $H$ is a finite simple bipartite graph $\Sigma$ such that ${\rm Aut}(\Sigma)$ contains a subgroup isomorphic to $H$ acting semiregularly on $V(\Sigma)$ and the $H$-orbits are equal to the bipartite sets of $\Sigma$. A Cayley graph is a Haar graph exactly when it is bipartite, but no simple condition is known for a Haar graph to be a Cayley graph. In this paper, we show that the groups $D_6, \, D_8, \, D_{10}$ and $Q_8$ are the only finite inner abelian groups all of whose Haar graphs are Cayley graphs (a group is called inner abelian if it is non-abelian, but all of its proper subgroups are abelian). As an application, it is also shown that every non-solvable group has a Haar graph which is not a Cayley graph.

Simulations of Cayley graphs of dihedral group
Let Î be a finite group with identity element e and let S â Î â {e} which is inverse-closed, i.e., S = Sâ1 := {sâ1 : s â S}. An undirected Cayley graph on a group Î with connection set S, denoted by Cay(Î, S), is a graph with vertex set Î and edges xy for all pairs x,y â Î such that xyâ1 â S. The dihedral group of order 2n, denoted by D2n, is a group generated by two elements a and b subject to the three relations: an = e, b2 = e, and babâ1 = aâ1. In this paper, we investigate the Cayley graphs of the dihedral group for some connection sets S satisfying |S| = 1, 2, 3 by doing simulations using Wolfram Mathematica.

Uni-Directional Alternating Group Graphs
A class of uni-directional Cayley graphs based on alternating groups is proposed in this paper. It is shown that this class of graphs is strongly connected and recursively scalable. The analysis of the shortest distance between any pair of nodes in a graph of this class is also given. Based on the analysis, we develop a polynomial time routing algorithm which yields a path distance at most one more than the theoretic lower bound. Furthermore, comparisons among uni-directional hypercubes, uni-directional star graphs, and uni-directional alternating group graphs are given. These observations validate the superiority of uni-directional alternating group graphs among known uni-directional topologies.

One frequently studied problem in the context of information dissemination in communication networks is the broadcasting problem. In this paper, we study the following randomized broadcasting protocol: At some time t an information r is placed at one of the nodes of a graph G. In the succeeding steps, each informed node chooses one neighbor, independently and uniformly at random, and informs this neighbor by sending a copy of r to it. First, we consider the relationship between randomized broadcasting and random walks on graphs. In particular, we prove that the runtime of the algorithm described above is upper bounded by the corresponding mixing time, up to a logarithmic factor. One key ingredient of our proofs is the analysis of a continuous-type version of the afore mentioned algorithm, which might be of independent interest. Then, we introduce a general class of Cayley graphs, including (among others) Star graphs, Transposition graphs, and Pancake graphs. We show that randomized broadcasting has optimal runtime on all graphs belonging to this class. Finally, we develop a new proof technique by combining martingale tail estimates with combinatorial methods. Using this approach, we show the optimality of our algorithm on another Cayley graph and obtain new knowledge about the runtime distribution on several Cayley graphs.

We address the problem of the construction of quantum walks on Cayley graphs. Our main motivation is the relationship between quantum algorithms and quantum walks. In particular, we discuss the choice of the dimension of the local Hilbert space and consider various classes of graphs on which the structure of quantum walks may differ. We completely characterise quantum walks on free groups and present partial results on more general cases. Some examples are given, including a family of quantum walks on the hypercube involving a Clifford Algebra.

The Cayley graph generated by a set A is the graph ÎA(V) on a set of positive integers V such that a pair (u, v) â VĂV is an edge of the graph if and only if |uâv| â A or u+v â A. We denote by (n,m) the class of graphs G = (V, E) such that G is a union of chains and cycles and |V| = n, |E| = m. In this paper, we present an upper bound for the number of independent sets in Cayley graphs ÎA(V) such that A = {ân/2â â t, ân/2â â Æ}, V â [ân/2â + 1, ân/2â+t] âȘ [n â t + 1, n], where n, t, Æ â N and Æ < t < n/4. We also describe the graph with the maximum number of independent sets in the family (n, m).

Hamiltonian cycles in cubic Cayley graphs: the â©2,4k,3âȘ case
It was proved by Glover and Marusic (J. Eur. Math. Soc. 9:775---787, 2007), that cubic Cayley graphs arising from groups G={a,x|a2=x s=(ax)3=1,...} having a (2,s,3)-presentation, that is, from groups generated by an involution a and an element x of order s such that their product ax has order 3, have a Hamiltonian cycle when |G| (and thus also s) is congruent to 2 modulo 4, and have a Hamiltonian path when |G| is congruent to 0 modulo 4. In this article the existence of a Hamiltonian cycle is proved when apart from |G| also s is congruent to 0 modulo 4, thus leaving |G| congruent to 0 modulo 4 with s either odd or congruent to 2 modulo 4 as the only remaining cases to be dealt with in order to establish existence of Hamiltonian cycles for this particular class of cubic Cayley graphs.
