Abstract

In recent years, the burgeoning popularity of artificial intelligence chatbots has sparked a surge in research on users' intentions and usage. In order to explore the research hotspots and future research directions in this field, this study used bibliometric analysis to investigate users' intention to use and adoption of AI chatbots (IUAAIC).On 12 January 2025, this study collected and screened 287 articles in this field included in the web of science core collection database.Using tools such as online bibliometric analysis platform (Bibliometric), VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and Bibliometrix based on R language, the information on publications, countries, journals, and keywords related to the field was systematically evaluated and visualized, revealing the current status of applications in the field and analyzing in detail the latest research hotspots and research trends. This study lie in its ability to delineate the underlying patterns and determinants of AI chatbot usage, offering valuable insights for developers, policymakers, and marketers.By synthesizing and visualizing the available literature, this research facilitates a deeper understanding of users' behaviors and preferences, thereby enhancing the design and implementation of future AI chatbots applications.
