Abstract

A transfer operator method is used to calculate the inverse localization length, $\ensuremath{\alpha}$, of the one-dimensional Anderson model as a function of disorder, $\ensuremath{\sigma}$. For small disorder $\ensuremath{\alpha}$ vanishes as $\ensuremath{\alpha}=A{\ensuremath{\sigma}}^{2}+O({\ensuremath{\sigma}}^{4})$, with $A=0.2088$.
