IOT-based Accident Detection and Alert System

Speed is one of the basic reasons for vehicle accident.Many lives could have been saved if emergency services could get accident information and reach in time.This project deals with accident detection system when an accident occurs it uses various components and alerts the Rescue team for help.An efficient automatic accident detection with an automatic notification to the emergency service with the accident location is a prime need to save the precious human life.The proposed system deals with accident alerting and detection.It reads the exact latitude and longitude of the vehicle involved in the accident and sends this information to nearest emergency service provider.The goal of the project is to detect accidents and alert the rescue team in time.

In today's world, the inventions of powerful automobile engines have increased the speed of transportation. As a result, the situation has become more vulnerable to fatal accidents. To reduce these fatalities, the Emergency Medical Service (EMS) has to be quick and efficient enough. To make emergency services faster, an Accident Detection and Notification System is required. The research work aims at the development of such robust Accident Detection and Notification System. The approach focuses on the development of two subsystems. One of the subsystems is Accident Detection System (ADS). Another subsystem is a Notification System. ADS is implemented on separate hardware and it is responsible for accident detection and estimation of severity and direction of an impact. The ADS hardware incorporates an accelerometer, a microcontroller and a Bluetooth device. The system also consists of a Raspberry Pi which acts as a central controller of the system and is connected to the ADS through Bluetooth. For the notification system, a GPS-GSM module and a web application connected with firebase cloud database are used. The web application developed fetches the data when received by the cloud database about the accident and displays it to the emergency authorities.

Enforcement avoidance behavior near automated speed enforcement areas in Korean expressways

The goal of the manuscript is to propose a Vehicle Accident recognition and Smart Reporting System. The system is comprised of two major parts; Accident Detection (AD) and Smart Reporting System (SRS). The system contains three Switches / Buttons for ambulance, police, and Victim's home respectively. The Victim cause these Switches to choose non-required services based on his/her needs, by pressing particular Switches. When an accident commits, Accident Detection (AD) takes place by enabling the Piezoelectric Force Sensor, which alerts the Microcontroller that is connected to GPS and GSM module. GPS component finds the vehicle's exact spot where the accident occurred and the Microcontroller waits for a certain time to get a response from the Victim, based on the response of the Victim Smart Reporting System (SRS) comes into the picture and sends a message to desired services using the GSM module. Plenty of accidents occurs on highways or outskirts, sometimes there will be no helping hands to take the Victim to the hospital, or accident information will not reach the nearest ambulance, police authority, or Victim's home at the correct time, due to this many people are dying. As a solution, many proposals are available to identify the spot of the accident and to report it to the required people but if the Victim is perfectly alright or having some minor issues then, the Victim may not be in need of all these services then, providing these services will leads to waste of time, fuel and simply it creates tension. This project is designed to tackle both the cases. It helps the Victim to save his life without any help from the surrounding people. The entire procedure is done with Internet of Things (IoT) technology.

Traffic Hazards is one of the major problems facing across the world. One of the major causes of traffic hazards is increase in vehicles and dense population. Reducing traffic hazards is one the major challenges as majority of the deaths across the world are due to road accidents. Hence there is a need to provide better transportation facilities that can reduce the ratio of road accidents and save life's of people. One of the solution that is proposed in this paper is using IR sensors and Arduino Uno technology. The system has two phases-Accident Detection and Accident Prevention. The detection phase is carried out using IR sensors that could detect and alert the people by sending SMS using GSM module that contains predefined numbers and accident location using GPS module. Second Phase, Accident prevention is carried out using IR sensors by warning the driver about the neighboring vehicles when the distance between them is beyond the threshold value. Simulation results and Prototype is presented in this paper.

Internet of Things (IoT) and 5G are enabling intelligent transportation systems (ITSs). ITSs promise to improve road safety in smart cities. Therefore, ITSs are gaining earnest devotion in the industry as well as in academics. Due to the rapid increase in population, vehicle numbers are increasing, resulting in a large number of road accidents. The majority of the time, casualties are not appropriately discovered and reported to hospitals and relatives. This lack of rapid care and first aid might result in life loss in a matter of minutes. To address all of these challenges, an intelligent system is necessary. Although several information communication technologies (ICT)-based solutions for accident detection and rescue operations have been proposed, these solutions are not compatible with all vehicles and are also costly. Therefore, we proposed a reporting and accident detection system (RAD) for a smart city that is compatible with any vehicle and less expensive. Our strategy aims to improve the transportation system at a low cost. In this context, we developed an android application that collects data related to sound, gravitational force, pressure, speed, and location of the accident from the smartphone. The value of speed helps to improve the accident detection accuracy. The collected information is further processed for accident identification. Additionally, a navigation system is designed to inform the relatives, police station, and the nearest hospital. The hospital dispatches UAV (i.e., drone with first aid box) and ambulance to the accident spot. The actual dataset from the Road Safety Open Repository is used for results generation through simulation. The proposed scheme shows promising results in terms of accuracy and response time as compared to existing techniques.

Real-Time Accident Detection and Alert System Using Accelerometer and GPS Module

In worldwide, security plays a significant role in preventing different assets and crimes. Education has become an essential right of human life as it has been transferred from one era to next. The examination is a significant part of the coaching structure. The key objective of the examination would be to select the suitable applicants for different positions. Every year the updates that exams have been postponed or canceled due to inquiry paper leakage are occurring. So, an innovative system is implemented to prevent this spillage of examination papers. This system is designed on the embedded system. The main types of equipment of this advanced system are Arduino Mega, solar panel, fingerprint scanner, GSM module, and GPS module.

The incidence of road accidents is quite high. This is due to driver negligence. Based on these problems, a driving accident detection system was created. The system uses vibration sensors, tilt sensors, and pressure sensors as inputs to detect driving accidents. The system is supported by an Arduino uno kit with an R3 SMD microcontroller as the brain to process data from vibration, tilt, and pressure sensors, and is equipped with GPS and ESP32. Then, the output to ESP32 will send notification information to Telegram by detecting GPS, so that it will automatically send notification of driving accident coordinates. From the making of this system, it can be concluded that, if a driving accident occurs, it will automatically send information directly to the victim's family quickly. The system will work if the sensor is detected and will send data to the phone number stored in the database. So that victims can be handled more quickly to avoid casualties.

Motorcycle travel, deemed one of the riskiest modes of transportation, faces a staggering fatality rate, with 212.7 deaths for every million miles travelled. Unlike enclosed vehicles, motorcycles expose riders to their surroundings, heightening the need for proactive safety measures. This paper explores the development and implementation of a Motorcycle Crash Detection and Alert System (MCDAS) utilizing the Multi-axes accelerometer. The system is designed to detect when a motorcycle falls and promptly alert emergency services and contacts via Firebase cloud. The study delves into the challenges posed by two-wheeled vehicle dynamics and outlines a novel collision detection algorithm tailored for motorcycles. This algorithm is validated against experimental evidence, providing a robust foundation for crash detection systems in this unique context. Additionally, the paper introduces a novel method for vehicle detection and tracking, employing thresholding, mathematical morphology treatment, and original labelling to enhance accuracy and reduce artifacts. In the context of road accidents, especially prevalent among two-wheelers, the paper presents a system that combines accelerometer data and a user's heartbeat sensor to assess the severity of accidents. This timely information triggers alerts to nearby medical centers and contacts through GSM and GPS modules, facilitating immediate medical aid. The Android application associated with the system not only sends text messages to medical centers and friends but also shares the precise accident location, significantly reducing response time. important contributions and heralds a new departure for the vehicle safety paradigm.

The vehicle safety and accident detection system using ESP32 of an by using IOT technology is an a comprehensive solution designed to enchance road safety by detecting accidents in real time to emergency services,drivers,and authorities.This system integarates various sensors, including sp02,GPS,GSM,and vibration sensor,with a microcontroller to monitor vehicle condition and detect such as sudden deceleration,collisions, or fire hazards.upon detecting an accident,the system triggers automatic notification and sends critical data such as the vehicle location and status to emergency contacts via GSM or WI-FI.In addition to accident detection the system also offers continuous monitoring of vehicle health,preventing potential break downs.This IOT based solution ensures faster improved vehicle safety and provide valuable data for accident analysis,making it a vital tool for modern transportation systems. Road accidents have become an issue of major concern to the people. This paper presents an accident prevention mechanism developed through alcohol detection using an MQ3 alcohol sensor followed by automatic engine locking. The detection part uses an SW-420 vibration sensor to detect any sort of abnormal vibrations that may occur from a collision. This is accompanied by supervised deep learning CNN algorithms. The accident scene image is captured using a front camera built in the vehicle to be used by the deep learning model for accident prediction. Accident detection is followed by communication to the nearest emergency center using GPS and GSM modules.

A mobile tracking application for emergency ambulance services is proposed in this paper with various challenges in vehicle tracking and monitoring system. The system issues alert messages in case of emergency. The alert system is essential to provide information about the location of the accident or driver's location. In the conventional method, the ambulance driver could not reach the accident location on time due to heavy traffic, leading to loss of many lives. With the current technological advancements in smartphones and mobile apps, a mobile app for tracking ambulance in real time is proposed in this paper. This application will let the ambulance driver record its availability and location. The user who executes the emergency will book the ambulance and log in to the user. The user location and nearby ambulances will be precisely pointed out on the Google map. Once the patient is boarded, the location of the ambulance will be recorded and sent to the traffic police present at the traffic signal. The driver then selects the nearby hospital on the map, which helps to treat the patients on time. The location of ambulance is tracked by the navigator based on Web Services. This technology will help the ambulance location to be updated in the database. In addition, the traffic signal can be controlled based on the upcoming ambulance vehicle thus providing a traffic less route.

For people with serious visual impairments, a system is proposed that helps to identify obstacles and call for help in an emergency situation. The system is based on a microcontroller and optical, acoustic and electric sensors connected to it, as well as GPS and GSM modules. Modules interact with a person using voice communication. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 39 million people worldwide are blind and 246 million are visually impaired [1]. People with partial or complete loss of vision face many problems in their daily lives, especially the problem of movement and orientation in the field. A blind person usually uses a traditional stick to improve their mobility. However, the stick cannot provide a person with information beyond his reach. There are smart sticks that use one camera, or several video cameras mounted on the stick to capture images. Captured video images are resized, further processed and converted into acoustic or vibration signals. In such systems, the frequency of the warning signal correlates with the pixel orientation of the camcorder. There are also systems that use ultrasonic sensors to detect interference. The value of the distance to the obstacle, measured by a sound wave, is transmitted to the microcontroller, which sends a sound signal through the speaker. The disadvantages of such systems are the inability to detect hidden obstacles that are dangerous to the visually impaired, such as stairs, pits, puddles, and so on. The proposed system solves these problems by combining the capabilities of acoustic and optical sensors, as well as a water sensor. Support for a person in a difficult situation is also provided by establishing a telephone connection with a trustee. The GPS location information is received by the GPS module and the microcontroller sends this information via the GSM module to the specified contact number. The system consists of a microcontroller (control of the electronic assistant), a sensor system that receives information about the location of a person and obstacles in its path, an effector system that sends a person acoustic and vibration signals about detected obstacles, as well as a communication system. connects: 1) two ultrasonic sensors to detect obstacles located in front at knee height and at head height; 2) infrared sensor to detect stairs and terrain; 3) water sensor to detect puddles. The sensors collect data in real time and send it to the microcontroller for processing. After processing the sensory information, the microcontroller sends vibrations and acoustic signals to the person, respectively, on the vibrators installed in the stick head, and on the Bluetooth headset. The system is powered by a recessed battery (not shown). This article proposes a system that helps a visually impaired person to reach their destination safely. The system uses a variety of sensors to detect interference and warn of interference with an audible signal and vibration. The intensity of the sound signal and vibration increase when a person approaches an obstacle. The GPS module tracks the user's location. In case of a dangerous situation, the GSM / GPRS module establishes a connection between a blind person and a trustee.

Traffic accidents are a thing that cannot be avoided by vehicle users. Many bus-related managers ignore vehicle engine maintenance from minor matters such as leaky fuel drains, supposedly replaceable vehicle brakes and short-circuit electrical connections. So in this study the author will make a fire detector and collision. The result of this tool will work when the MQ-135 sensor detects smoke, the fire sensor detects a fire and push button detects a collision. In addition to this tool also features GSM SIM800L module to provide information to the security agency. To facilitate the operation of the whole system is controlled by arduino uno microcontroller. After doing research MQ-135 sensor detects smoke when smoke comes into contact with the sensor, in addition to MQ-135 sensor in fire detection system used fire sensor module DFR0076, this module can detect fire up to distance 16 cm. While in the accident detection system (collision) is used push button. This tool system can be concluded that the overall design of the accident detection and fire detection equipment works well and the program used successfully applied to the system tool in accordance with the idea of design.
