Lod, Nordau Street

In February–April 2019, a salvage excavation was conducted on Nordau Street in Lod (Permit No. A-8426; map ref. 19046–56/65163–73; Fig. 1) prior to infrastructure works. The excavation, on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and funded by the Ministry of Housing, was directed by S. Krispin, with the assistance of A.S. Tendler (area supervising), Y. Elisha, N. Shachar, Y. Agmon and D. Kleiman (area supervising assistance), Y. Amrani, E. Bachar and R. Abu-Halaf (administration), M. Kahan (surveying and drafting), A. Dagot (GPS and GIS), Y. Tepper (scientific consulting), I. Taxel and Y. Agmon (pottery), Y. Nagar (physical anthropology), Y. Peretz (field photography) and E. Delerzon (plans), as well as A. ‘Azab and I. In June-July 2011, a salvage excavation was conducted in Nahal Zanoah (Permit No. A-6613; map ref. 200298-510/624031-182; Fig. 1), prior to construction. The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and funded by the Ministry of Housing, was directed by R. Be'eri (field photography and drafting), with the assistance of R. Abu Diab (administration), M. Kunin (surveying and drafting) and A. Peretz (field photography).

During July 2010, a salvage excavation was conducted in Modi'in (Permit No. A-5941; map ref. 199007-65/645957-6018), in the wake of widening Road 12, in its northern part. The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and underwritten by the Ministry of Housing and Construction, was directed by R. Shellef, with the assistance of E. Bachar (administration), M. Kunin (surveying), A. Peretz (field photography), and A. Gorzalczany (guidance).

During July 2010, a salvage excavation was conducted in Modi'in (Permit No. A-5941; map ref. 199007-65/645957-6018), in the wake of widening Road 12, in its northern part. In November 2016, a salvage excavation was conducted at 62 Ha-Horesh Street in Kefar Shemaryahu (Permit No. A-7831; map ref. 18315/67712; Fig. 1), prior to construction. The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and financed by Ilana Amir, was directed by Y. Agmon, with the assistance of Y. Amrani (administration), M. Kahan and R. Mishayev (surveying and drafting), A. Peretz (field photography), P. Gendelman (pottery consultation), Y. Nagar (physical anthropology), D.T. Ariel (numismatics), N. Zak (plans), M. In February 2015, a salvage excavation was conducted at 18 Olei Zion Street, Yafo (Permit No. A-7336; map ref. 177176-208/662220-50), prior to renovation work beneath and alongside the building. The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and financed by the Me-Raguza 7 Company, was directed by Y. Arbel (field photography), with the assistance of Y. Amrani and E. Bachar (administration), L. Rauchberger (preliminary investigation) Y. Nagar (physical anthropology), R. Mishayev (drafting), M. Shuiskaya (pottery drawing), P. In October-November 2014, a salvage excavation was conducted at Na‘ura (Permit No. A-7548; map ref. 23729/72476), prior to construction. The excavation, on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority, was directed by E. Dalali-Amos (field photography and surveying), with the assistance of Y. Ya‘aqobi (administration), K. Covello-Paran (scientific guidance), R. Liran (surveying), Y. Nagar (physical anthropology), H. Tahan-Rosen (pottery drawing) and the participation of laborers of the Israel Antiquities Authority from Nazareth.

During December 2006, a salvage excavation was conducted on Haey Adam Street in the Sha'are Moshe neighborhood of Jerusalem (Permit No. A-4978; map ref. NIG 22085/63260; OIG 17085/13260; Fig. 1), prior to the construction of a residential building. The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and underwritten by the contractor, was directed by A. Nagar, with the assistance of R. Abu Halaf (administration), V. In November 2010-January 2011, a salvage excavation was undertaken near the Church of St, Mark in the Assyrian (Syriac) Monastery, on Araraṭ Street in the Armenian Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem (Permit No. A-6053; map ref. 22188/63148; Fig. 1), following damage to ancient remains during an unauthorized excavation. The excavation, on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority, was directed by R. Lavi, with the assistance of R. Abu Halaf (administration), S. Puni and N. Sapir (inspection), D. Amit (guidance), M. In June 2013, a salvage excavation was conducted in the Ramat Sharet neighborhood of Jerusalem (Permit No. A-6843; map ref. 217493-553/629434-89), after ancient remains were discovered in trial trenches that were excavated prior to construction work. The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and financed by the F.E. Development and Building Company in Jerusalem, Ltd., was directed by R. Be'eri (field photography), with the assistance of N. Nahama (administration), L. Freud (ceramics), A. Fadida (pottery restoration), I. Lidsky-Reznikov (pottery drawing), Y. Kupershmidt (metallurgical laboratory), C. Amit (studio photography) and Y. Nagar (physical anthropology). L. Oz oversaw the excavation of the trial trenches.

In October-November 2013, a salvage excavation was conducted at 51 Palmach Street in the Romema neighborhood of Haifa (Permit No. A-6925; map ref. 200206-10/743814-16), prior to development. The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and financed by the Shatit Company, Ltd., was directed by A. Masarwa (field photography), with the assistance of Y. Amrani and E. Bachar (administration), M. Kunin, A. Hajian, R. Mishayev and M. Kahan (surveying and drafting), A. Gorzalczany (scientific guidance), V. Eshed (physical anthropology), P. During July 2006, a salvage excavation was conducted in Ramla (Permit No. A-4854; map ref. 188451-91/648827-38), prior to construction. In August 2013, a salvage excavation was conducted at the antiquities site of Ras Abu Dahud in the Nahalat Yehuda neighborhood of Rishon Le-Ziyyon (Permit No. A-6888; map ref. 181998-2118/654499-689). The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and financed by the Rishon Le-Ziyyon municipality, was directed by A. Dayan, with the assistance of Y. Amrani (administration), R. Mishayev and M. Kahan (surveying and drafting), A. Peretz (field photography), V. Eshed (physical anthropology), C. Amit (studio photography) and M. In June 2014, a salvage excavation was conducted at Khirbat el-Bira, in Shoham's northern industrial zone of (Permit No. A-7151; map ref. 196489-97/658476-88; Fig. 1). The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and financed by A. Yahav, was directed by Y. Elisha, with the assistance of Y. Amrani (administration), R. Mishayev and R. Liran (surveying and drafting), C. Ben-Ari (GPS), A. Peretz (field photography), P. Gendelman (pottery), M. Shuiskaya (pottery drawing), V. Eshed (physical anthropology) and G. Yitah and A. 'Azab.

In June-July 2010, a salvage excavation was conducted at the ancient site of Migdal (Permit No. A-5930; map ref. 248302-574/748076-187), prior to the construction of roads 18 and 20. The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and financed by the Migdal municipality, was directed by G. Cinamon (field photography), with the assistance of Y. Ya'aqobi (administration), A. Najar (area supervision), A. Hajian, M. Kunin, R. Mishayev and M. Kahan (surveying and drafting), D. Avshalom-Gorni and M. Hartal (scientific advisors), H.
