The proposed method can be used not only for determining the boundaries of economic efficiency in technical retooling of enterprises, but also in fixing the prices for new domestic equipment.

The study analyzed sources of information for improved cassava production technology in Biase Local Government Area, Cross River State, Nigeria. Data were obtained from a random sample of 110 respondents in the study area by means of structured and semistructured questionnaire. Data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The ranking of sources of information regarding innovation in cassava production in BiaseLocal Government Area, Cross River State saw radio (41.81%) as major source of information for new technologies in cassava production. The television (30%), extension agent (12.73%), friends/ neighbours (8.18%) and information communication technologies (ICTs)(7.27%) were ranked second, third, fourth and fifth respectively. The study also revealed that cassava farmers are faced with several problems in their production activities. These constraints affect the efficiency of cassava production in the study area. Notable among them are the constraint of lack of visit by extension agents, non-adoption of new technologies in cassava production, high cost of fertilizers, high cost of labour, delay in loan approval, low fertility of land, wrong application of fertilizers andinadequate land ranked 94.17%, 90.29% , 90.29%, 87.38%,86.41%, 70.87%, 61.17%, and 38.83% respectively. The constraints associated with sources of information for improved cassava production technology in Biase Local Government Area, Cross River State as highlighted in this paper if tackled could pave a way to increase cassava production and farm income of stakeholders. Hence, for efficient production of cassava inthe study area, these constraints must be reduced to the barest minimum. This can be done through posting of more extension agents to rural areas were cassava farms were established and more ICTs centers should created in rural areas and cassava farmers should be trained by extension agents on use of ICTs to get information on new technologies in cassava production.

Over the years, improved techniques for production and processing of food have resulted in the expansion of our food supply byprolonging keeping times, preventing spoilage and increasing the variety of food products available. The use of new technologies infood production has potential benefits for both food manufactures and consumers. But one of the question raising is how consumersreact to the new technologies and how does it impact their choice to buy or not to buy such kind of food. This article examines howthe new technologies in food production (genetic engineering, nanotechnologies, cloning) affect consumer choice to purchase foodobtained through these technologies. Different literature and scientific data available were summarized to find out the main reasonswhat affect consumers’ attitude towards new technologies in food production. Results suggest that the willingness to consume foodobtained with help of new technologies is directly influenced by the risk consumers perceive and the perception of risk is more directthan the perception of supposed benefits. KEY WORDS: consumer attitude, cloning, GMO, nanotechnology, new technologies. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/ 10.15181/rfds.v9i1.589

We present an example of good practice of the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the allocation of production orders in Domel production. AI can predict the future realization of production orders and adjust its predictive algorithms to better match the future actual state of production. At the same time, it also learns optimal sequences and integrates them into the design of the optimal schedule of production orders on machines. An example of good practice is related to the use of new technologies in production and logistics.

The hotel business is a unique establishment that includes all tourism entities that provide accommodations and foods for guests and other services to meet the needs and wishes of the customers. The environments have to be pleasing to enhance customers' patronage.Unique features ginger customers also and it is on this that the paper is based.Four research questions were raised and two hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance.Random sampling technique was used to select four hotels and eighty respondents.Structured questionnaire and scorecard were used to solicit information from the respondents on displayed of three coded samples produced.Frequency, percentage, means, standard deviation were used to analyze research questions using a rating scale of 1-5.Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient was used to analyze the hypotheses. The findings revealed that beads, used straws, empty pen cases, and mats can be used for curtains with a mean score(̅ ) of 4.04.The respondents also agreed that the principles of designs should be applied during curtain production (̅ = 3.58).Also, the respondents agreed that curtains are important in the hotel (̅ = 4.33).The three samples are accepted.Significantly there is no relationship between materials used for curtain production and principles of design.Furthermore, there is a significant relationship between the production and perception of the respondents on exhibited products. It can be concluded that hotel guests are aware of some indigenous materials for curtain production.Among recommendations stated are: utilization of these materials bring creativity, promotes culture and beautification. The producers should adopt new technology for production.

This article describes and investigates the difference between a decentralized and a centralized information system. The efficiency of use and introduction of new technologies in production is studied. The construction of blockchain-based systems and their efficiency in solving the tasks are analyzed. Conclusions are formed about the tendency that the introduction of decentralization proves the need for digital management systems. At a time when the implementation of blockchain technology has greatly simplified the construction of new decentralized systems, which is a current trend in the world. The basis of blockchain technology is in a distributed information storage. It allows you to store important information simultaneously on many servers, and therefore keep them open and safe. For example, on the basis of this technology it is possible store both the history of customers’ bank transactions, voting results, and database of contracts, fingerprints or medical histories. And the information that stored simultaneously in many places, it is impossible to steal it, because in any case they can be restored from the original sources. As already mentioned, a blockchain, a block of transactions, is a structure for writing transaction groups. Transactions are carried out only when it is considered confirmed. It is reliable and convenient when it comes to making payments or the transfer of confidential data. So that the transaction is considered confirmed, its format and signatures must be verified. After that, the group transactions are recorded in a special block. In these blocks, all data is fast to verify. And in each subsequent information about the previous is stored. For example, in transactions on cryptocurrencies, the chain contains blocks information about all actions ever performed with bitcoins. The block includes a header and a list of transactions. The title of the block has its own hash, previous block hash, transaction hash and other additional official information. The first thing that is specified in the transaction block is getting a commission that will be as a reward, so the user who actually and will create this block. For transactions in the block tree hashing was used.

Radio drama has long been a cornerstone of the BBC's public service broadcasting (PSB) remit. Its current state of health might therefore be regarded as an indicator of the BBC's commitment to PSB values in today's ‘convergence environment’. This article compares radio drama production and the commissioning process in the late 1980s with contemporary practice, drawing on a participant observation study reported in Scannell's Broadcast Talk and on recent research. The introduction of new technology in production and management has affected creative practice, but a more significant influence has been a changed management culture and the radical restructuring it has overseen.

The article considers conceptual and scientific approaches and modern interpretations of intellectual and innovative development of economic systems. Critical analysis of existing publications on the characteristics of intellectual and innovative processes in the economy made it possible to determine the conditions and measures for activating the intellectual and innovative determinants of regional economic systems in modern conditions. It is established that in scientific publications there is a discrepancy between the priority of intellectual and innovative development, which made it possible to note that intellectual and innovative changes in the economic space of the region are provoked by the emergence and commercialization of innovations. The key functional features of intellectual and innovative development of the regions include: consistency and complementarity of innovation and intellectualization; localization of innovations in business structures and educational and research centres of the region; motivators of activation of determinants, which are digitalization and socialization of modern technologies; organizational factors in the form of new technologies of production and sales, as well as the availability of technical means of communication and information. The main regulator of strategic development of regions is cognitive perception in the institutional environment of the region; formation of new value in the economic system of the region due to the effectiveness of information communications and intelligence. It is established that the distribution of resources in the region between individual territories is implemented according to investment strategies of intellectual and innovative development. These functional properties are detailed in the selected intellectual and innovative factors influencing the regional economic system. Taking into account the functional features and factors of influence of intellectual and innovative determinants, the author identifies the guidelines for their implementation in the development processes of the regions. This allowed to formulate directions for ensuring the effectiveness of the implementation of intellectual and innovative determinants, including: consistency and priority of intra-regional cluster formations that ensure the competitiveness of regions at the national and international levels; strategic management of the investment process, improvement of the investment and credit environment, provision of guarantees and preferences for investors in priority areas of regional economic policy, etc.

The introduction of new technologies in production and manufacturing (such as robotics, flexible manufacturing systems (FMS), and computer‐aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM)) frequently motivates capital investment decisions. Traditionally, the need for additional capacity has motivated the evaluation of investment decisions which were undertaken based on financial factors such as the net present value (NPV), internal rate of return, taxation, and depreciation. This research integrates investment decisions with operational decisions for the case of multistage production assembly systems. We show that for such systems investment decisions affect not only the financial structure but also production scheduling and material flow in the system.

Great attention has been paid in recent years to the importance of intellectual property to successful R&D and commercialization of technology. The issues raised have included the appropriate role and expense of IP in the R&D and commercialization environments, the impact of intellectual property on companies' freedom to use technology in new products and the role of intellectual property in extracting maximum value from R&D by providing alternative commercialization paths including licensing, business spin offs, joint ventures and packaging the innovative business for sale to another party. Nowhere has this interest been keener than in the rapidly expanding and commercially unpredictable area of nanomaterials. This paper will provide a basic understanding of the key intellectual property issues most important to nano-materials, including practical advice for managers and R&D personnel on efficiently creating intellectual property processes and policies appropriate to companies in the nano-materials business.

Let's face it: The proposal for the sixth European R&D Framework Program by research Commissioner Philippe Busquin[*][1] could have been a lot worse. In fact, if it survives the scrutiny of the Council of Ministers and sails through the European Parliament without too much damage, it will offer substantial benefit for science policy in Europe. These are big ifs, admittedly. For one thing, industry and the business sector do not seem overenthusiastic because they see too much emphasis on basic research. The constituency in the science and engineering community that has become dependent on previous framework programs may feel left out in the cold, and the traditional peddlers of national interest may feel deprived of power to guide the commission in the “right direction.” If the history of the previous programs is any guide, all this may lead to substantial changes in the present proposal during the upcoming wrestling matches between special interest groups. But as it stands, the proposal delivers on the promise of Busquin's vision of a European Research Area (ERA).[†][2] The existing science system in Europe is a collection of jealously guarded national systems, resulting in a lot of waste and undue fragmentation. Europe should spend more public money on science to compete, but it must also use the available financial resources and talent much more effectively than it does now. In formulating the ERA, Busquin demonstrated the urgency of the problem and presented an outline for a solution. The new framework proposal aims to bring this ERA closer to reality. For example, collaboration between national R&D organizations is to be strengthened to overcome the competitive disadvantages of the science system in Europe. The objectives of the Framework Program will thus be reoriented from promoting collaboration among individual scientists to promoting collaboration among research organizations. The ideas are still vague and lack operational specificity, but the opportunity to build on these modest beginnings should be taken up. Collaboration between research councils can take various forms. For example, the European Science Foundation has introduced the EUROCORES mechanism, directed at joint planning and execution of bottom-up research programs.[‡][3] Such concepts should be expanded to include joint planning and investment in research infrastructure. The new plan offers European Union (EU) support for such activities. In doing so, it recognizes the limited ability of the EU's bureaucracy to micromanage programs. Such courageous recognition is a necessary condition for improvement. Industry and commerce should welcome the plan because it is directed at improving the European science system, which will lead to better science and better scientists and engineers. Europe's competitiveness depends on the effective transfer of ideas from generation to commercial application and exploitation in new and existing companies; this transfer in turn depends entirely on the quality of the people we educate and train in our higher education system. Especially in fast-moving areas of science, where the rate of discovery cannot be transmitted in the traditional education chain, it is vital that scientists and engineers have firsthand experience at these new frontiers. Creative and effective application of technology in new products and services must be supported by entrepreneurial skills in recognizing opportunities and marketing products. Science and technology policy, whether at the national or European level, should be directed at creating the conditions to achieve and sustain this dynamic. The present proposal shows that this has been recognized, as it emphasizes the need and promises to support collaboration between science and industry. At the Lisbon summit in March 2000, the EU government leaders requested from the European Commission a proposal for a program that can assist and stimulate the emergence of a creative and entrepreneurial spirit in the European research and innovation system. To achieve that, issues of mobility, patenting, taxation, competition, and collaboration will have to be tackled. Most of these issues are outside the responsibilities of the Commissioner for Research, but the present Framework Program proposal is a step in the right direction. The fate of the proposal in the coming months will be an interesting test of the political commitment to a change in European R&D policy. Let us see what remains by the end of this year.
