Nursing assistance systematization: understanding the care implementation process

This work was developed with the objective of understanding the perception of social workers and health professionals who are part of the Family Health team about the role of the social worker in the Family Health Strategy. Considering that the FHS is the main gateway to the health system, the research focused on answering how the perception of health professionals in relation to the role of the Social Worker in the FHS impacts on their praxis and on the way of establishing interactions in the work process, so that the understanding of the practice connected to the theory contributes to a better performance of the professional, in the service to the users of the health system. The study has an exploratory descriptive aspect, developed through the quantitative and qualitative approach. Participated in the research social workers and health professionals who work in the Basic Family Health Units and make up the Family Health team in the FHS: doctors, nurses, technicians and / or nursing assistants and Community Health Agents Saúde, in the city of Uberlândia-MG. In order to achieve both the objectives referred to above and those described in the research, for the quantitative method, data collection was carried out through a self-administered questionnaire with professionals from the Family Health teams of the Basic Family Health Units; and for the qualitative method, interviews with semi - structured script and focus group with social workers were used. The results showed that even though they are aware of the contribution of the Social Service professional to the team, a considerable number of professionals from the family health team have difficulty understanding the dimension of the role of the social worker. Also presented relevant information for the knowledge of the trajectory of the social service in the SMS of Uberlândia and how the social worker works in social occupational spaces such as the Integrated Health Care Unit, the Basic Health Unit and the Basic Family Health Unit. , in addition to show that the social situation, the working conditions and their form of organization, can contribute to the physical and mental strain affecting the health of these workers.

Introduction - Worker's Health is part of Collective Health and aims at the treatment and rehabilitation of injuries, the promotion and protection of workers' health and the reduction of morbidity and mortality. Knowing that the gateway to user health care is in Primary Health Care, through Basic Family Health Units, interest in listening to the perspectives of these worker users was awakened. Objectives - To understand the reason that leads the working population enrolled in a territory to seek care at Basic Family Health Units; describe the sociodemographic profile of the population of workers enrolled in a territory; evaluate the sociodemographic profile and the perception of the population of users/workers enrolled in a territory and identify the social profile and access characteristics of users of a Basic Family Health Unit. Methodology - This research is a master's thesis presented as equivalent work in the form of two articles. Both are studies with a quantitative approach, descriptive in terms of objectives, and bibliographic and field studies in terms of procedures. An online questionnaire was applied to users of a Basic Family Health Unit. In article 1, people aged between 18 and 69 years old, user-workers who agreed to participate in the research were considered as inclusion criteria, totaling a sample of 103 participants. In product 2, the inclusion criteria were over 18 years old who consented to the Free and Informed Consent Form, with a sample of 122 participants. Results – Two articles were generated, one published in FOCO Magazine and the other submitted in Higeya Magazine. Among the 122 participants, it was observed that the employed population 98 (80.3%) is four times larger than the unemployed population 24 (19.7%). The predominance of 87 (71.3%) of the participants were female biological sex, 37 (30.3%) aged between 40 and 49 years and with predominant employment relationship 33 (36.9%) in the Consolidation of Labor Laws . In addition, it is noted that the majority 59 (60.2.0%) seek the UBSF for vaccination and 50 (51.0%) for medical care. However, 52 (53.1%) of the user-workers reported having some chronic illness and/or condition that requires medical follow-up. When analyzing the users' perception, 67 (68.4%) of the interviewees recognized that it was important to seek the UBSF without being sick, 86 (87.8%) considered participation in disease prevention groups to be important and decisive, but only 18 ( 18.4%) of these interviewees stated that they had already participated in operative groups in a basic health unit. It was noticed that the participants who work seek the UBSF Marta Helena more, annually, in a preventive way 66 (54.1%), than those who do not work. And those who do not work seek the UBSF in more curative conditions 81 (66.6%), when they feel pain or discomfort. Another important data regarding access is that 68 (66.0%) reported knowing the opening hours of the Unit, but 35 (33.9%) pointed out as an aggravating factor the incompatibility of hours between attendance and work. Conclusion – It was possible to understand that the factors that lead user-workers to seek care at the UBSF are the health promotion and disease prevention resources. However, the non-working population still has healing characteristics, seeking the UBSF in situations of illness. Among the characteristics that hinder access to the UBSF is the incompatibility of schedules between work and care, thus requiring better management of schedules, providing greater coverage of care.

This research refers to the equivalent of a dissertation, presented in the form of two articles, from the Postgraduate Program in Environmental Health and Workers' Health at the Institute of Geography of the Federal University of Uberlândia. The theme of the study was the perception of workers who take part in Health Care Planning, which consists of a process of permanent education that seeks to structure and consolidate the micro and macro processes in Primary Health Care. This research sought to connoisse the perception of health workers belonging to the nine basic family health units in the Irati-PR region with regard to Health Care Planning and possible contributions to the quality of care and Workers' Health. The approach used was quantitative and qualitative, using two data collection instruments: a sociodemographic questionnaire and a semi-structured script for the focus group. Data was collected online and analyzed using SPSS software version 26 and thematic content analysis. A total of 84 workers from the nine basic family health units in the Irati-PR region took part in the survey. Of the participants, 84% were female, 42% were aged between 35 and 44, 75% were in a stable relationship and 82% declared themselves to be white. We noticed that the PAS promotes effective and permanent training among the members who take part in the PAS mentoring, in which a study is carried out on the main weaknesses of the Basic Health Units; so the PAS is developed with a theoretical basis, but also with a survey of work problems

The present article describes teaching-learning interventions in the context of a mandatory curricular internship in Occupational Therapy conducted at a Family Health Basic Unit. This work is justified by the importance of presenting the outcomes of occupational therapy through the description of a concrete activity. The objective is to reflect on the practice and present the possibilities of action in primary care with a health education group. This is a descriptive study, in the form of an experience report, developed during the implementation of a waiting room group in a service located in the interior of São Paulo/SP, from August to December 2022. Data collection was carried out based on the field diaries of the interns and group coordinators, as well as reports reviewed by the faculty member and internship supervisor. The analytical phase considered the group experience, encompassing the participants, their histories, knowledge, cultures, and emotions, but also the narratives and experiences of the interns. The results indicate the transformation of the waiting room into a productive space, a redefinition of habits, and reflections on daily life, relationships, healthcare, through the sharing and construction of knowledge and wisdom, legitimizing the right to health information.

Objetivo: O presente artigo objetivou identificar o estado vacinal dos adolescentes da área adscrita de uma Unidade Básica de Saúde da Família de uma cidade no Estado do Piauí. Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo seccional com abordagem quantitativa, desenvolvido por meio de inquérito domiciliar, no período de abril a julho de 2017. A amostra foi constituída por 361 adolescentes e a análise foi realizada por meio de estatística descritiva. Resultados: Verificou-se que, a cobertura vacinal contra rubéola, sarampo e caxumba atingiu 42,7% dos adolescentes, difteria e tétano (31,9%), hepatite-B observou-se 42,1% de cobertura, enquanto que, 43,2% dos adolescentes foram vacinados contra febre amarela e 21,1% contra HPV. Destaca-se que, aproximadamente 50% dos entrevistados desconhecem a existência de um cartão de vacina do adolescente e que 58,8% dos adolescentes não sabiam informar contra quais doenças estavam imunizados. Conclusão: Conclui-se que o conhecimento dos adolescentes é incipiente em relação à imunização, destacando-se assim, a necessidade da realização de ações educativas pelos profissionais da saúde em parceria com as escolas.

Introduction: Primary health care is essential healthcare made universally accessible to individuals and acceptable to them through their full participation and at an affordable cost. It can be effectively delivered at the Basic health unit (BHU). Assessment of its performance at regular basis is also crucial for the health care system.
 Objectives: To assess the services (EPI, antenatal care and basic healthcare) provided at selected BHUs of Peshawar with a view to determine service provision gaps in these BHUs.
 Materials & Methods: It was a questionnaire based descriptive survey conducted from September to November 2019, in which simple random sampling technique was used to select 15 BHUs of district Peshawar for assessment and evaluation purposes. Data were collected using a checklist and an indigenous structured questionnaire where responses were recorded in yes/no format. Data analyzed using SPSS V.22 for descriptive statistics.
 Results: All vaccines of the EPI program were being provided in BHUs except for Hepatitis B. Regarding BHU staff, in 80% BHUs male medical officers were absent, and in 40% BHUs female medical officers were absent. For the Maternal and Child Health Care (MCHC) services, Tetanus Toxoid vaccine and Folic Acid supplements were present in all BHUs but status of malnutrition was unsatisfactory. About 80% of BHUs had a satisfactory infrastructure; the safety and sanitation precautions in BHUs were not up to the mark regarding disposal of hazardous waste and needles.
 Conclusion: Majority of the healthcare facilities were present in sampled BHUs including immunization services, MCHC services, infrastructure, safety, and sanitation. While the female staff was adequate in number, the attendance of male staff was poor.

The Telenursing Project is an activity that gathers both the extension and research of the School of Nursing, Federal University of Minas Gerais, included in the National Program for Telehealth. It offers new ways of providing assistance, collaborating with the transformation of practical realities by offering Distance Education for the healthcare team. The present study evaluated the continuing distance education for the nursing staff of the Basic Health Units. This is a descriptive study, in which a qualitative approach was used, performed in municipalities registered by the program. The sample comprised 17 participants. Data collection was performed through interviews, which were recorded and transcribed. Three categories emerged from the analysis: the significance of the Telenursing Project in terms of assistance; the use of Telenursing in the process of distance training, and; use of the tools in the Telenursing Project. The results showed that distance education is a teaching and learning strategy in health that makes use of information technology resources that contributes to the continuing education of nursing professionals, providing better care delivery.

Objetivo: Avaliar o conhecimento da equipe de saúde das Unidades Básicas de Saúde do município de Coari-AM, Brasil, acerca da atuação do fisioterapeuta na atenção básica. Métodos: Pesquisa de caráter quantitativo, exploratória, descritiva, do tipo levantamento de campo, realizada nas 11 unidades básicas de saúde de Coari, estado do Amazonas, nos meses de agosto e setembro de 2010. Coletaram-se os dados por meio de questionário composto por perguntas fechadas, referentes à atuação do fisioterapeuta na atenção básica à saúde. Participaram da pesquisa 76 profissionais distribuídos por categorias: (5) médicos, (10) enfermeiros, (8) técnicos de enfermagem e (53) agentes comunitários de saúde. Resultados: 61,64% (n= 45) dos profissionais atuantes na equipe de saúde da família referiram conhecer a atuação do fisioterapeuta na atenção primária; 79,45% (n=58) referiram no nível secundário e 69,86% (n=51) no nível terciário de atenção à saúde. Conclusão: Esse trabalho apontou algum conhecimento dos profissionais quanto à atuação profissional do fisioterapeuta na atenção básica, no entanto, o conhecimento para este nível apresenta-se desfavorecido em relação aos demais níveis de atenção à saúde. Demonstrou-se que uma parcela dos profissionais apresentaram dificuldades para considerar a possibilidade da intervenção fisioterapêutica em patologias essencialmente trabalhadas na atenção básica, todavia a referência à viabilidade de atuação do fisioterapeuta para diferentes públicos foi satisfatória. Tal conclusão não esgota a possibilidade de discussão do tema proposto.

Objective: To evaluate the satisfaction of mothers with Accessibility to Basic health units of Rawalpindi. Methodology: A descriptive study was conducted at the basic health units of Rawalpindi over a period of six months, and participants were selected using multi-stage sampling to assess the mother's expectations, experiences, and satisfaction regarding accessibility to primary health care centers. The eligibility criteria included mothers who had been residing in the area for at least six months and visiting BHUs for maternal or child health care. A total 275 mothers participated, a structured questionnaire was by Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, focusing on key factors demographics, distance to BHUs, clinic timings, waiting time, availability of healthcare services, staff behavior, and quality of care. Responses were analyzed descriptively, with percentages summarizing the distribution of answers related to distance, working hours, waiting times, and access to medical care using SPSS version 23. Results: The study revealed significant dissatisfaction among mothers regarding accessibility to Basic Health Units (BHUs). Only 2.18% strongly agreed that the distance to the health center was acceptable, while 52.00% disagreed. Similarly, just 1.09% found clinic working hours suitable, with 57.45% disagreeing. A majority, 55.64%, felt that waiting times were too long, and 38.55% disagreed that they had adequate access to medical care when needed. Overall, the dissatisfaction score for accessibility was 46%, highlighting critical areas for improvement in service delivery. Conclusions: The findings indicate that mothers experience significant barriers to accessing healthcare services at Basic Health Units (BHUs). The low levels of satisfaction related to distance, clinic hours, and waiting times suggest that these factors adversely affect their overall healthcare experience.

To conduct a situational diagnosis of the Nursing Care Systematization (NCS) in a Basic Health Unit from the perception of the nursing team. This was a quantitative, descriptive-exploratory study, conducted in a Basic Health Unit in the interior of São Paulo state, Brazil. A structured questionnaire containing Likert scale was used for data collection, previously validated by specialists. The questionnaire was applied to 21 nursing professionals. It was verified that implementation of NCS and the nursing process is still incipient in the Basic Health Units. Regarding its use in all nursing actions: 19% of respondents believe that it is never used, 38% thought that it is rarely implemented, and 29% responded sometimes. The main difficulties identified were related to the lack of institutional structure, highlighting a lack of capacity by the institution (81%). The team has a reasonable understanding about the subject, but pointed out that professional education does not prepare them for performing NCS in primary care. Institutional interest in NCS is necessary to enable implementation. The study can contribute to the effective implementation in this unit and point out guidelines for its implementation in other similar contexts.

INTRODUCTION: Patients indicated for palliative care may have losses in functional capacity and quality of life, but there is little information about these conditions in primary health care. OBJECTIVE: To characterize the functional and symptomatic aspects of individuals indicated for palliative care in primary care. METHODS: This cross-sectional descriptive study involved six family health teams from three basic health units in Londrina, Paraná, Brazil that indicated patients with palliative care needs. The patients were assessed with the Karnofsky Performance Scale (KPS), the Edmonton Symptom Assessment Scale (ESAS) and a sociodemographic and clinical questionnaire. RESULTS: 73 patients (30 men and 43 women) whose mean age was 77.2 ± 12.1 years were included. Dementia and cerebrovascular diseases were the most frequent conditions, with 20 (27%) and 19 (26%) patients, respectively. The mean KPS score was 47.9 ± 13.9 points (44 ± 11.3 points for men and 51 ± 11.3 for women), with a significant difference between the sexes (p = 0.023). Cancer patients had better functionality than those with neurological diseases. The ESAS, whose mean score was below 3 points (mild intensity), indicated that the most frequent symptoms were impaired well-being, pain, fatigue and drowsiness. Patients without caregivers had better functional status, but greater pain and fatigue intensity. CONCLUSION: All patients had some functional limitations, and those with neurological diseases were the most affected. The symptoms were generally mild. The presence of caregivers may positively influence symptom control.

Aimed to evaluate risk factors for breast cancer in women who used a Basic Health Unit in Fortaleza. Quantitative study, carried out from March to November 2009 with 320 women. It was used for a data collection form. Among the participants, 206 (64.38%) reported menarche over twelve years, 238 (74.38%) had their first pregnancy below 30 years, 210 (65.63%) breastfed their children, it was found that 177 (55.31%) reported using oral contraceptives, 71 (22.19%) had a family history of breast cancer, 62 (19.38%) were smokers, 89 (27.81%) consumed alcohol. It is noteworthy that even with the technology developed for the control of breast cancer, one can’t ignore the many factors that make up its etiology. Hence, the need for nurses show greater effectiveness in the early recognition of risk factors.

Introdução: A avaliação do consumo de medicamentos é uma importante ferramenta para garantir o acesso e avaliar seu uso racional. Embora estudos indiquem a relação entre o aumento da resistência dos microrganismos e o uso irracional de medicamentos, poucos dados de Farmacoepidemiologia e do perfil desses pacientes estão disponíveis em Odontologia. Objetivo: Avaliar o consumo de medicamentos utilizados de forma irracional pela população que procura atendimento de urgência em Odontologia em unidades de saúde da atenção básica no município de Aracati- CE. Metodologia: Trata-se de estudo descritivo, onde foram avaliados dados como idade, gênero do paciente, queixa principal, medicamentos utilizados previamente ao atendimento sem prescrição e tratamento proposto. Resultados: No período estudado 176 pacientes buscaram o serviço de urgência do posto de saúde principalmente devido a dor de dente. Dentre eles 140 (79,5%) estavam se automedicando, 65% era do sexo feminino e 35% do sexo masculino, com média de 33 anos de idade. A amostra se caracterizou principalmente por pessoas com baixa renda e escolaridade, que se automedicavam frequentemente. Conclusão: A automedicação é algo freqüente na vida das pessoas e seus riscos muitas vezes desconhecidos. Percebe-se a necessidade de trabalhar temas como uso racional de medicamentos e a presença de profissionais farmacêuticos em unidades básicas de saúde da Estratégia de Saúde da Família.

Health complaints among nurses working near MRI scanners—A descriptive pilot study

Phytotherapy and the use of medicinal plants are part of the practice of folk medicine, which complements treatment traditionally employed for the lower income population. This work analyzed the knowledge of health managers and professionals who work in primary health care (PHC) about phytotherapy in the cities of Cascavel and Foz do Iguaçu in the State of Paraná. An exploratory, descriptive, and qualitative study using a structured questionnaire was conducted between February and July 2009. A health manager manifested interest in introducing the program. The other professionals interviewed did not receive training during undergraduate studies or within the Basic Health Units (BHU) where they work. Six professionals (60%) reported having access to information on phytoterapy through folk wisdom, one (10%) via training in a BHU, two (20%) from journals, four (40%) from the media and four mentioned more than one source. In Foz do Iguaçu, in the BHU where the therapy is deployed, the professionals were not consulted before its implementation. To include phytotherapy in the BHUs of these two cities, it is necessary to train the professionals on the topic, including cultivation and prescription, thereby enhancing the rational use of these medicines.
