On an open problem of value sharing and differential equations

The uniqueness problems on transcendental meromorphic or entire functions sharing at least two values with their derivatives or linear differential polynomials have been studied and many results on this topic have been obtained. In this paper, we study a transcendental entire function f (z) that shares a non-zero polynomial a (z) with f′(z), together with its linear differential polynomials of the form: L[f] = a2(z)f″(z) + a3 (z)f′′′(z) + … + am (z)f(m) (z) (am (z) $\not\equiv$ 0), where the coefficients ak (z) (k = 2, 3, ..., m) are rational functions.

We study the uniqueness of entire functions, when they share a linear polynomial, in particular, fixed points, with their linear differential polynomials.

In this paper, we investigate meromorphic functions that share a small function with one of its linear differential polynomials and prove several theorems which generalize and improve the main results given by J. L. Zhang and L. Z. Yang. Some examples are provided to show that the results in this paper are sharp.

In this paper, we study a uniqueness question of meromorphic functions concerning certain linear differential polynomials that share a nonzero finite value with the same of L-functions. The results in this paper extend the corresponding results from Li[6] and Li & Li[7].

An Entire Function that Shares a Small Function with its Derivative and Linear Differential Polynomial

We study the relationship between an entire function f and its certain type of linear differential polynomial L when f and L share one finite nonzero value under some additional conditions. The results improve and generalize some previous results obtained by C.C. Yang and some other authors.

Linear sparse differential resultant formulas

We study the uniqueness of meromorphic functions concerning nonlinear differential polynomials sharing a nonzero polynomial IM.Though the main concern of the paper is to improve a recent result of the present author [12], as a consequence of the main result we also generalize two recent results of X. M. Li and L. Gao [11].

In 2023, Li–Du–Yi [Complex Var. Elliptic Equ., 68(10)2023, 1653–1677] proved that if two L-functions L 1 and L 2 in the extended Selberg class S # have positive degrees, satisfy the same functional equation with a ( 1 ) = 1 and E L 1 ( S ) = E L 2 ( S ) for a finite set S = { c 1 , c 2 , c 3 } , where c 1 , c 2 and c 3 are three distinct finite complex values, then L 1 = L 2 . We prove that if two L-functions L 1 and L 2 in the extended Selberg class S # have positive degrees, satisfy the same functional equation with a ( 1 ) = 1 and share a set { α 1 , α 2 , … , α t } CM, where t ≥ 1 is a positive integer, and α 1 , α 2 , ··· , α t are t distinct finite complex numbers, then L 1 = L 2 . The result also improves the corresponding results from Khoai–An [The Ramanujan J., 58(1)(2022),253-267]. We also prove that if a non-constant meromorphic function f with finitely many poles in the complex plane shares a set { α 1 , α 2 , … , α t } CM and some finite value c IM with a non-constant L-function L having a positive degree, then f = L. Some examples are provided to show that the main results obtained in this paper, in a sense, are best possible.

In this paper we survey some author’s results and developments relating the so-called Gel’fond-Leont’ev (G-L) operators of generalized integration and differentiation, classes of special functions (SF) of generalized hypergeometric type and the operators of generalized fractional calculus (GFC). The G-L operators have been introduced by Gel’fond-Leont’ev [9] in the classes of analytic functions in disks ΔR = {|z| < R}, by means of of multipliers’ sequences composed by the coeffcients of suitable entire (generating) functions. Introducing classes of SF related to Fractional Calculus (FC), as the Mittag-Leffer (ML) function, the multi-index Mittag-Leffer (multi-ML) function and its various particular cases ([16]–[18]), we specify the G-L operators generated by these entire functions. It is shown that in these cases, the G-L operators can be extended to analytic functions in wider complex domains Ω starlike with respect to the origin z = 0 and represented by operators of the Generalized Fractional Calculus (GFC), Kiryakova [14], i.e. operators of generalized integration and differentiation of arbitrary fractional multi-order. Illustrative examples and some open problems are proposed.

The following theorem has been proved by R.Brück. If a non-constant entire function ƒ and its derivative ƒ′ share the value 1 CM (counting multiplicities), and if , then ƒ′- 1 = c ( ƒ - 1 ) for some nonzero constant c . In this paper we shall prove that the above result is also true when ƒ is a non-constant meromorphic function.

UDC 517.5Two meromorphic functions are said to share a set ignoring multiplicities (IM) if has the same pre-images under both functions. If any two nonconstant meromorphic functions, sharing a set IM, are identical, then the set is called a “reduced unique range set for meromorphic functions'' (in short, RURSM or URSM-IM). From the existing literature, it is known that there exists a RURSM with seventeen elements. In this article, we reduced the cardinality of an existing RURSM and established that there exists a RURSM with fifteen elements. Our result gives an affirmative answer to the question of L. Z. Yang (Int. Soc. Anal., Appl., and Comput., &lt;strong&gt;7&lt;/strong&gt;, 551–564 (2000)).
