On -piecewise Noetherian rings

A ring R has the (A)-property (resp., strong (A)-property) if every finitely generated ideal of R consisting entirely of zero divisors (resp., every finitely generated ideal of R generated by a finite number of zero-divisors elements of R) has a nonzero annihilator. The class of commutative rings with property (A) is quite large; for example, Noetherian rings, rings whose prime ideals are maximal, the polynomial ring R[x] and rings whose total ring of quotients are von Neumann regular. Let f : A → B be a ring homomorphism and J be an ideal of B. In this paper, we investigate when the (A)-property and strong (A)-property are satisfied by the amalgamation of rings denoted by A ⋈fJ, introduced by D'Anna, Finocchiaro and Fontana in [3]. Our aim is to construct new original classes of (A)-rings that are not strong (A)-rings, (A)-rings that are not Noetherian and (A)-rings whose total ring of quotients are not Von Neumann regular rings.

We continue the study of intersection algebras [Formula: see text] of two ideals [Formula: see text] in a commutative Noetherian ring [Formula: see text]. In particular, we exploit the semigroup ring and toric structures in order to calculate various invariants of the intersection algebra when [Formula: see text] is a polynomial ring over a field and [Formula: see text] are principal monomial ideals. Specifically, we calculate the [Formula: see text]-signature, divisor class group, and Hilbert–Samuel and Hilbert–Kunz multiplicities, sometimes restricting to certain cases in order to obtain explicit formulæ. This provides a new class of rings where formulæ for the [Formula: see text]-signature and Hilbert–Kunz multiplicity, dependent on families of parameters, are provided.

In 2002, Anderson and Dumitrescu introduced [Formula: see text]-Noetherian rings, a significant advancement in ring theory. Later, in 2018, Bennis and El Hajoui expanded on this by introducing two new classes of rings that generalize the concept of coherent rings: [Formula: see text]-coherent rings, where every finitely generated ideal is [Formula: see text]-finitely presented, and [Formula: see text]-[Formula: see text]-coherent rings, where every [Formula: see text]-finite ideal is [Formula: see text]-finitely presented. This paper builds on these concepts to introduce the [Formula: see text]-[Formula: see text]-(weak) global dimension for rings with a multiplicative subset [Formula: see text], offering a new perspective on ring structures. We also explore [Formula: see text]-[Formula: see text]-variants of specific ring types, including semisimple, von Neumann, and (semi)hereditary rings. Finally, we extend the generalization of [Formula: see text]-rings and [Formula: see text]-coherent rings, originally introduced by Costa in 1994, to rings with a multiplicative subset [Formula: see text], deepening the understanding of ring theory.

Let R be a commutative ring with Z*(R) as the set of non-zero zero divisors. The zero divisor graph of R, denoted by Γ(R), is the graph whose vertex set is Z*(R), where two distinct vertices x and y are adjacent if and only if xy = 0. In this paper, we investigate the metric dimension dim(Γ(R)) and upper dimension dim+(Γ(R)) of zero divisor graphs of commutative rings. For zero divisor graphs Γ(R) associated to finite commutative rings R with unity 1 ≠ 0, we conjecture that dim+(Γ(R)) = dim(Γ(R)), with one exception that R ≅ Π 𝕑 2 n {\rm{R}} \cong \Pi {\rm\mathbb{Z}}_2^{\rm{n}} , n ≥ 4. We prove that this conjecture is true for several classes of rings. We also provide combinatorial formulae for computing the metric and upper dimension of zero divisor graphs of certain classes of commutative rings besides giving bounds for the upper dimension of zero divisor graphs of rings.

In this paper, we introduce a new class of rings, the QB∞-rings. We investigate necessary and sufficient conditions under which an exchange ring is a QB∞-ring. The modules over an exchange QB∞-ring are studied. Also, we prove that every regular square matrix over an exchange QB∞-ring admits a diagonal reduction by pseudo-invertible matrices.

We define and examine a new class of rings whose elements are the sum of three commuting idempotents or the difference of two commuting idempotents. We fully describe them up to an isomorphism and our obtained results considerably extend some well-known achievements due to Hirano and Tominaga (Bull Aust Math Soc 37:161–164, 1988), to Ying et al. (Can Math Bull 59:661–672, 2016) and to Tang et al. (Lin Multilin Algebra, 2018).

A new class of rings is studied: rings all whose units are sums 1 + n, for a suitable nilpotent element n. These are called UU rings.

A ring R is called a right WPF-ring (weak PF-ring) if R is a semiperfect right simple-injective ring with essential right socle. The class of right WPF-rings is broader than that of right PF-rings. In this article, we study and provide several characterizations of this new class of rings. We also show that if R is a left perfect, left and right f-injective ring, then R is QF if and only if So c 2(R) is a finitely generated right R-module if and only if R/Soc(R) is a finitely cogenerated left R-module. Some known results are obtained as corollaries.

The aim of the paper is to extend the class of generalized Weyl algebras (GWAs) to a larger class of rings (they are also called GWAs) that are determined by two ring endomorphisms rather than one as in the case of ‘old’ GWAs. A new class of rings, the diskew polynomial rings, is introduced that is closely related to GWAs (they are GWAs under a mild condition). Simplicity criteria are given for GWAs and diskew polynomial rings.

This series aims to report new developments in mathematical research and teaching -quickly, informally and at a high level.The type of material considered for publication includes: 1.Preliminary drafts of original papers and monographs 2. Lectures on a new field, or presenting a new angle on a classical field 3. Seminar work-outs 4. Reports of meetings, provided they are a) of exceptional interest or b) devoted to a single topic.

The main purposes of this paper are to investigate ℤ-injective rings with the representation extension property and its dual, to give a necessary and sufficient condition for a ℤ-injective ring to be an amalgamation base in the class of all rings and to determine structure of ℤ-injective Noetherian rings which are amalgamation bases. Further, in the class of all commutative rings, it is shown that a commutative ring has the representation extension property, if, and only if, it is an amalgamation base.

Let $S$ be a subsemigroup which contains 0 of a torsion-free abelian (additive) group. Then $S$ is called a grading monoid (or a $g$-monoid). The group $ \{s-s'|s,s'\in S\}$ is called the quotient group of $S$, and is denored by $q(S)$. Let $R$ be a commutative ring. The total quotient ring of $R$ is denoted by $q(R)$. Throught the paper, we assume that a $g$-monoid properly contains $ \{0\}$. A commutative ring is called a ring, and a non-zero-divisor of a ring is called a regular element of the ring. We consider integral elements over the semigroup ring $ R[X;S]$ of $S$ over $R$. Let $S$ be a $g$-monoid with quotient group $G$. If $ n\alpha\in S$ for an element $ \alpha$ of $G$ and a natural number $n$ implies $ \alpha\in S$, then $S$ is called an integrally closed semigroup. We know the following fact: ${\bf Theorem~1}$ ([G2, Corollary 12.11]). Let $D$ be an integral domain and $S$ a $g$-monoid. Then $D[X;S]$ is integrally closed if and only if $D$ is an integrally closed domain and $S$ is an integrally closed semigroup. Let $R$ be a ring. In this paper, we show that conditions for $R[X;S]$ to be integrally closed reduce to conditions for the polynomial ring of an indeterminate over a reduced total quotient ring to be integrally closed (Theorem 15). Clearly the quotient field of an integral domain is a von Neumann regular ring. Assume that $q(R)$ is a von Neumann regular ring. We show that $R[X;S]$ is integrally closed if and only if $R$ is integrally closed and $S$ is integrally closed (Theorem 20). Let $G$ be a $g$-monoid which is a group. If $R$ is a subring of the ring $T$ which is integrally closed in $T$, we show that $R[X;G]$ is integrally closed in $T[X;S]$ (Theorem 13). Finally, let $S$ be sub-$g$-monoid of a totally ordered abelian group. Let $R$ be a subring of the ring $T$ which is integrally closed in $T$. If $g$ and $h$ are elements of $T[X;S]$ with $h$ monic and $gh\in R[X;S]$, we show that $g\in R[X;S]$ (Theorem 24).

INTRODUCTION In the broadest sense, this is a study of commutative rings which satisfy the (finitely) pseudo-Froben[us (or (F)PF) condition: All (finitely generated) faithful modules generate the category mod-R of all R-modules. These rings include: Pr[[fer rings, almost maximal valuation rings, self-injective rings, e.g. , quasi-Frobenius (QF) and pseudo-Frobenius (PF) rings, and finite products of these. (In fact, any product of commutative FPF rings is FPF [34]; hence, any product of commutative PF rings is FPF (cf. §9).) If R is FPF, so is its (classical)ring of quotients Qc~(R) and its maximal quotient ring Qmax(R). Gaussian properties of total rings of quotients

In this paper, we define and study a valuation dimension for commutative rings. The valuation dimension is a measure of how far a commutative ring deviates from being valuation. It is shown that a ring R with valuation dimension has finite uniform dimension. We prove that a ring R is Noetherian (respectively, Artinian) if and only if the ring R × R has (respectively, finite) valuation dimension if and only if R has (respectively, finite) valuation dimension and all cyclic uniserial modules are Noetherian (respectively, Artinian). We show that the class of all rings of finite valuation dimension strictly lies between the class of Artinian rings and the class of semi-perfect rings.
