Abstract

Abstract This chapter introduces six subclasses of Petri nets that are of beautiful structures: state machines, marked graphs, free-choice nets, asymmetric-choice nets, weakly persistent nets and normal nets. On the basis of their structural characteristics, some perfect conditions can be provided to decide some important properties such as their liveness and reachability.
