The virtual 4th International Conference of Agroindustry and Bioeconomy (ICGAB) 2020 has been successfully held and the IOP Conference Proceeding Series: Earth and Environmental Science has been completed. This year ICGAB is special, it is the first virtual conference organised due to the Covid-19 global pandemic which hit us in early 2020. The conference was held virtually because of the travel restriction and social distancing policy of the Republic of Indonesia Government. In order to maintain an academic atmosphere and keep providing an academic forum for the students, academicians, researchers, and professionals despite the pandemic condition, the committee decided to hold the conference virtually.The current ICGAB 2020 is organised by the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Universitas Brawijaya (Malang, Indonesia) on the 25th of August 2020. The organiser collaborated with MSAE (Malaysian Society of Agriculture and Food Engineers), AUCFA (ASEAN Universities Consortium on Food and Agro-based Engineering & Technology), Forum Komunikasi Perguruan Tinggi Teknologi Pertanian Indonesia (FKPT-TPI), International Association of Agro-based Engineering and Technology (IAAET), and Advances in Food Science, Sustainable Agriculture and Agroindustrial Engineering (AFSSAAE) with the theme on “Emerging Technology and Integrated Information System for Sustainable Agroindustry”.This conference is aimed to communicate and disseminate research experiences, technology innovation, research and technology advances, as well as case studies related to sustainable agroindustry. This event provides a scientific platform enabling both local and international academia, researchers, policymakers, industry leaders, professionals, and other stakeholders to build networks, share ideas, and create research collaboration. The ICGAB 2020 is hopefully offering all participants to engage with the practices and/or implementation of advanced technology and information system to further develop the green economy in Indonesia through the creation of sustainable agroindustry.Since 2017, ICGAB has been successfully attracting more than 300 participants from different countries to each event. This year we proudly conducted the 4th ICGAB virtually. The conference consisted of the plenary and parallel sessions. The speakers and presenters came from six countries (Australia, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia). The virtual conference was held using the Zoom Meeting Platform. The conference organiser managed the conference from Malang, Indonesia, while the participants and speakers joined the conference virtually from their respective location in several cities in Indonesia and other countries (i.e. Malaysia, Philippines, Japan, Australia, and South Korea). The prominent resource persons invited as the keynote speakers were Rossana Marie Amongo, PhD (University of the Philippines Los Baños, Los Baños, the Phillipines), Ir. Mohd Fazly bin Mail P.Eng., M.I.E.M (Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute, Malaysia), Assoc. Prof. Grause Guido (Tohoku University, Japan), Assoc. Prof. Yasmin Sultanbawa (The University of Queensland, Australia), and Prof. Teti Estiasih (Universitas Brawijaya, Indonesia).The parallel session of ICGAB 2020 was well attended with 13 (thirteen) topics covered; all presenters did an outstanding job of sharing their expertise and experiences, beneficial to support the creation of a circular economy in Indonesia. There 243 participants from 6 countries presented and discussed during the conferences. The parallel sessions were conducted in ten different Zoom conference rooms. Each room was led by a chairperson and co-chairperson. Each participant was given seven minutes to present the paper followed by a discussion session led by the chairperson. The parallel sessions run very well. The participants were actively engaged during the discussion sessions. The technical areas and applications covered by the proceedings, namely:1. We hope that this conference proceeding could contribute to the advancement of agricultural technology in the world. With the theme “Empowering Science and Transforming Communities through STEM Education,” SEA-STEM 2020 aims to be a scientific meeting among researchers and educators in STEM fields. In conjunction with the Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand Growth Triangle University Network (IMT-GT UNINET) STEM meeting, SEA-STEM 2020 is also intended to initiate a STEM movement in South East Asia region. The conference was planned to be a part of a one week STEM carnivals where we expected all participants to meet in Universitas Syiah Kuala’s campus. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we should replace the physical conference with the virtual one. The three-day conference has been successfully concluded with 9 keynote speakers and 36 parallel sessions involving 234 presentations. The first keynote session was held on the first day of the conference (October 20, 2021) with three keynote speakers including Prof. Dato’ Noraini Idris (Chair of National STEM Movement Malaysia), Prof. Tom Lowrie (Director of Early Learning STEM Australia), and Assoc. Prof. Rachel Sheffield (Curtin University, Australia) delivered their keynote talks for 40 minutes. On the second day, 50-minute keynote speeches were delivered by Dr. Carol O’Donnell (Director of Smithsonian Science Education Center, USA), Prof. Kiichiro Kagawa (Fukui University, Japan), Dr. Indrawati, M.Pd (Director of SEAMEO Qitep in Science, Indonesia) and Prof. Nasser Mansour (Exeter University, UK and Egypt). On the last day, our USG Partner of the USAID PEER Project Dist. Prof. Eugenia Etkina (the ISLE Inventor-Graduate School of Education, Rutgers University, USA) and her research partner Prof. Gorazd Planinsic (University of Ljubljana, Slovenia), in one-hour talks, shared their long-time efforts in developing the Investigative Science Learning Environment (ISLE) approach for instructions and assessments in teaching physics. For keynote sessions we provided a 500-person virtual meeting room and based on the attendance records, about 250-350 participants attended the keynote sessions. On the other hand, for each parallel session, we organized six 100-person virtual meeting rooms that were assigned for parallel talks based on the topics of presentations. In each parallel session meeting room, 4-8 speakers delivered their presentation including the Q&A session in 15 minutes per presenter. Presenters of the conferences are researchers and educators in STEM fields who came from several countries including Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippine, Thailand, China, Japan, Hungary, Nigeria, Macedonia, Germany, UK, Egypt, Australia, Slovenia, and the USA. The virtual conference majorly depended on the reliability of the internet connection and the video conferencing and webinars platform. We hired a third party technical team that has successfully handled the technical aspects of the keynote and parallel sessions. We experienced some technical glitches during the opening ceremony and keynote talks on the first day, such as the voice of the keynote speakers and the national anthem cannot be heard, but the technical team learn from this experience and the keynote and parallel sessions on the next days were successfully held without glitches. We received 257 paper submissions and after a careful review process, 165 of the manuscripts are published in this proceedings. The published papers are divided into 7 tracks including Physics & Physics Education, Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Biology & Biology Education, Chemistry & Chemistry Education, Technology and Engineering, and STEM Education. We hope that the papers will provide new thoughts, ideas, and inspiration for us to improve STEM education in Indonesia as well as in South East Asia. We learned from this experience that even though the virtual conference was a success, a physical conference would provide more interactive engagements among the presenters and participants. However, we realize that the virtual conference enable us to invite that many experts from all around the world to discuss about STEM and STEM education. This might not be possible if we hold a physical conference. Feedback from participants was mostly positive and a community of scholars and educators who work in STEM research and education consisting of former participants of the conference has been established. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the NAS and USAID and Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM) Universitas Syiah Kuala, which provided the financial support for SEA-STEM 2020. The 2021 7th International Conference on Advances in Environment Research (ICAER 2021) was held as a virtual meeting from August 26-28, 2021. Despite being an online conference, it was well received and a great success. The secretariat of the conference was in Building 38, No.1 Shilibao, Chaoyang District, Beijing, China. This conference was originally set to be hosted and held face-to-face in Sapporo, Japan. However, due to the spread of covid-19 in the world, the epidemic situation in various countries was complicated, and the entry-exit management of the local government was strict. Hence, the conference committee finally decided to hold ICAER 2021 as a virtual conference. In the context of epidemic, ICAER 2021 online could not only effectively guarantee safety, but also arouse the enthusiasm of participants, and effectively avoid the situation of being unable to attend the meeting due to travel restrictions, control of the epidemic, and other problems.ICAER 2021 covers online Opening Ceremony, Keynote Speeches, Oral Presentations, and Closing Ceremony. All sessions in this virtual conference were presented by Zoom. Under the theme of “Environment Research”, many researchers, engineers, academicians as well as industrial professionals from all over the world had the opportunity to present their research results and development activities. Keynote speakers were allocated 40 minutes to deliver their speeches and 5 minutes for discussion and in the oral sessions, each author had 15 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for questions and answers. During question time, the participants can use the “Raise Hand” function or “chat” function to ask questions. There were 6 sessions for all the presentations. It was a golden opportunity for the students, researchers and engineers to interact with the experts and specialists to get their advice or consultation on technical matters, academic theories and models, sales and marketing strategies.The ICAER 2021 proceedings is a collection of outstanding submissions from universities, research institutes and industries. All of the papers were subjected to peer-review by conference committee members and international reviewers. The final papers selected depended on their quality and their relevancy to the conference. ACTION/INTERACTION: BOOK/ARTS COLUMBIA COLLEGE CHICAGO CENTER FOR BOOK AND PAPER ARTS CHICAGO, ILLINOIS JUNE 8-10, 2007 The Action/Interaction: Book/Arts conference consisted of a major invitational exhibition, three keynote conference speakers, eight guided discussion sessions, an open mic night for readings and performance works, and one technical presentation. In its first year as a source for the book arts community, the conference completely subsumed the Festival of the the third fair hosted by Columbia College Chicago Center for Book and Paper Arts. Action/Interaction was a relatively open environment offering opportunities to engage through dialogue. For an audience accustomed to hearing about book craft, channels were opened to include other media's influence. Discussion leaders and attendees began to address the book medium's relations outside its own social bounds as well. Action/Interaction's first keynote speaker, Audrey Niffenegger, is known among book artists for her hand-colored etchings with aquatint that make for fictions of mostly pictures. Since the publication of a bestseller, The Time Traveler's Wife (2004), Niffenegger has become better known as a novelist. Nifenegger spoke to the differences between her projects of pure writing versus predominately image-based books, such as The Three Incestuous Sisters: An Illustrated Novel (2005), which was published by Harry N. Abrams Inc. in a much larger edition than viable using hand-printed methods. Niffenegger also reported she is embarking on a serial for the United Kingdom's Guardian Unlimited newspaper as well as reading screenwriters' disputable attempts to adapt The Time Traveler's Wife for an upcoming feature film. Niffenegger is a case in point for the conference's parallel discussion session, Books and Mainstream Publication, lead by Jen Blair of Columbia College Chicago. Blair and those present contended over decisions faced by book artists pursuant to attention from major publishers. Tactics for improving artists' books distribution, profitability, and the Internet's potential for opening up new audiences were also debated. The potential for linking to new audiences was at the core of questions in another parallel session, Considering Artists' Books moderated by Amanda D'Amico and Phoebe Esmon of University of the Arts (UArts) in Philadelphia. The moderators questioned the general functionality of the in-progress Web site. Johanna Drucker, founder of Artists' Books Online, was in attendance for the discussion and positioned the project as an archive providing access to certain books in their entirety, rather than simply an aid for locating artists' books or an advocate for the medium. D'Amico and Esmon stimulated their discussion by picking apart Artists' Books Online's metadata fields and glossary. Terminology remains a central point of departure as evident from the session Shaping a New Critical Discourse for the Field, lead by Mary Tasillo of UArts, as well as Beyond Artifacts: Book Arts as Practice, lead by Andrew Eason of University of West England. In yet another parallel discussion session, Crossing Boundaries: New Conceptions for the Book, moderator Jonathan Lill's (Museum of Modern Art Archives) approach was to phenomenologically compare artists' books to other media like architecture and monumental sculpture in a lively philosophical debate. [ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] Even more energetic was Marshall Weber's keynote address directed primarily at students whose attention he captured by calling for revolt. Weber's talk was inspired by the conference moniker of Action as well as its locale, Chicago--historically known for student protest and uprisings against the city's infamous one-party politics. Weber provided a brief history of Chicago's revolutionary past including violent unrest surrounding the 1968 Democratic convention and the Days of Rage in the fall of 1969. …

We are glad to introduce you that the 2020 International Conference on Green Chemical and Environmental Science (ICGCES 2020), supported by AEIC Academic Exchange Information Center, was successfully held on June 12, 2020. In light of worldwide travel restriction and the impact of COVID-19, ICGCES 2020 was carried out in the form of virtual conference to avoid personnel gatherings. Because most participants were still highly enthusiastic about participating in this conference, we chose to carry out ICGCES 2020 via online platform according to the original schedule instead of postponing it. ICGCES 2020 aimed to provide a flexible platform for experts and scholars in the field of Green Chemical and Environmental Science to disseminate the latest research achievements and advanced technologies, as well as to promote the cooperation between each other.We are greatly honored to have invited Prof. Jieshan Qiu, the Dean of College of Chemical Engineering at Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT), to serve as our Conference Chair. Prof. Qiu is an internationally-recognized expert in chemical engineering, whose research areas cover both fundamental and applied aspects of carbon materials and science, with a focus on the methodologies for producing carbon materials from coal and coal-derived by-products such as coal tar pitch, and their applications in energy storage and conversion (solar cells, supercapacitor and batteries, etc.), catalysis and environment protection.During the conference, the conference model was divided into three sessions, including oral presentations, keynote speeches, and online Q&A discussion. In the first part, some scholars were given about 5-10 minutes to perform their oral presentations one by one. Then in the second part, keynote speakers were each allocated 30-45 minutes to hold their speeches. Our beloved Conference Chair, Prof. Qiu, was also invited to present his latest research. The online discussion was lasted for about 30-60 minutes. The first two parts were conducted via online collaboration tool, Zoom, while the online discussion was carried out through instant communication tool, WeChat. The 2022 8th International Forum on Manufacturing Technology and Engineering Materials (IFEMMT 2022) was successfully held on October 14th-16th, 2022 in Chongqing, China (virtual conference). IFEMMT 2022 brought together academics and experts in the field of Manufacturing Technology and Engineering Materials to a common forum, making it a great platform for people to share views and experiences in related areas.We were honored to have Prof. Xiansheng Ning from Shenyang Ligong University, China to serve as our General Conference Chair. The conference covered keynote speeches, oral presentations, and online Q&A discussion, attracting 150 individuals. Firstly, keynote speakers were each allocated 30-45 minutes to hold their speeches. Then in the oral presentations, the excellent papers selected were presented by their authors in sequence.During the conference, five sophisticated professors were invited to make keynote speeches. Among them, Prof. Vijay Kumar Thakur from Scotland’s Rural College delivered a keynote speech on Polymer Nanocomposites as Promising Materials for the Future. Polymer nanocomposites are rapidly emerging as novel materials for a number of advanced engineering applications. The combination of both the polymers and fillers provides enhanced properties depending on the type and nature of polymer matrices as well as fillers. Therefore, this presentation mainly discussed about the work on the synthesis and processing of polymer-based materials for advanced application. Additionally, Assoc. Prof. Xiao Lu from Shenyang Ligong University made a report on Structure Design of Defective Electrocatalysts and Effect of High Magnetic Field on Electrocatalysis Process. The report proposed a method to achieve high efficiency oxygen reduction reaction by regulating the defect structure of carbon materials and metal catalyst materials and put forward the preparation of catalyst materials under strong magnetic field and the influence of strong magnetic field on oxygen evolution reaction and oxygen reduction reaction process. Their excellent presentations had sparked heated discussion in the conference. Moreover, every participant praised this conference for disseminating insightful knowledge.After months of well preparation and hard work, the proceedings of IFEMMT 2022 covering a bunch of papers are smoothly published. These papers feature but are not limited to the following topics: Advanced Design Technology, Manufacturing Systems and Automation, New Materials and Advanced Materials, etc. All the papers have been checked through rigorous review and processes to meet the requirements of publication.We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to all the keynote speakers, peer reviewers, and all the participants. On top of the local participants coming from different national universities, international participants are also registered from different countries, namely UK, Egypt, Malaysia, USA. In the first part, some scholars, whose submissions were selected as the excellent papers, were given about 5-10 minutes to perform their oral presentations one by one. Prof. Zhiyuan Zhu, Southwest University, our first keynote speaker. And then we had Prof. Lexian Yang, Tsinghua University, China. He presented an insightful speech: Evolution of the electronic structure of intrinsic magnetic topological insulator MnBi2Te4 film and bulk. His research interest focuses on the investigation of the electronic structures and novel properties of quantum materials using angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES), including the topological quantum materials, strongly correlated materials, low-dimensional materials, and advanced functional materials. Our third keynote speaker, Prof. Ming Yan, from Shanghai university, China. Prof. Bin Zhu, our finale keynote speaker, from Jiangsu Provincial Key Laboratory of Solar Energy Science and Technology/Energy Storage Joint Research Center, Southeast University, China/Loughborough University, UK, performed a speech: Semiconductor-based superionic conductors for new generation fuel cell applications. Their insightful speeches had triggered heated discussion in the third session of the conference. Every participant praised this conference for disseminating useful and insightful knowledge.The proceedings are a compilation of the accepted papers and represent an interesting outcome of the conference. Topics include but are not limited to the following areas: Semiconductors, Electromagnetics, Condensed Matter Physics and more related topics. All the papers have been through rigorous review and process to meet the requirements of International publication standard.We would like to acknowledge all of those who supported SECMP 2022. On behalf of the organizing committee of the 3rd TICATE 2020, I would like to welcome all delegates to attend this international conference with great pleasure. In the concern of COVID-19 pandemic, this international conference is being held virtually from August 3rd – 4th, 2020 from Campus I of Universitas Tarumanagara at Jl. Letjen S. Parman No. 1, Jakarta 11440, Indonesia. The 3rd TICATE 2020 is organized by Universitas Tarumanagara and technically sponsored by IOP Publishing. The reason why this conference was changed to virtual format is that due to COVID-19 Pandemic, there are travel restrictions and social distancing ruled by almost all governments in the world, including Indonesian government. We still hold partially the physical presentations regarding the healthy protocols suggested by World Health Organization.Instead of being postponed, we still hold this international conference virtually using Zoom Meeting because this conference is a forum for engineers, academics, practitioners, and students to exchange their experiences and knowledge. Many innovations and developments are being created from the last event to this one. These need to be shared among stake holders in the field of engineering and technology. Therefore, there is an urgent need to publish the newest results of researches in the conference proceedings.The 3rd TICATE 2020 has attracted many academicians, scientists, engineers, postgraduates and other professionals from many countries. This conference accepted 217 papers from 5 different countries, those are Australia, Taiwan, India, Malaysia, and Indonesia. The participants, including presenters at the parallel sessions, are attending this virtual international conference from Indonesia (Jakarta, Bandung, Medan, Yogyakarta, Aceh, Depok, Surabaya, etc.), Kuala Lumpur, Pulau Pinang (Malaysia), Australia, Taiwan, and India.The virtual format of the 3rd TICATE 2020 still provides very satisfying overall technical quality of the conference, e.g. in presenting the articles. 2025 4th International Conference on Food Engineering, Nutriology and Biological Chemistry (FENBC 2025) has been successfully held during July 26-27, 2025, in Wellington, New Zealand. It was a great pleasure to welcome all the participants from different countries to the 2021 6th International Symposium on Advances in Electrical, Electronics and Computer Engineering (ISAEECE 2021) in Nanjing, China during March 12-14, 2021. ISAEECE 2021 is to bring together innovative academics and industrial experts in the field of electrical, electronics and computer engineering to a common forum. The primary goal of the conference is to promote research and developmental activities in electrical, electronics and computer engineering and another goal is to promote scientific information interchange between researchers, developers, engineers, students, and practitioners working all around the world. The conference will be held every year to make it an ideal platform for people to share views and experiences in electrical, electronics and computer engineering and related areas.The conference model was divided into two sessions, including oral presentations and keynote speeches. In the first part, some scholars, whose submissions were selected as the excellent papers, were given 15 minutes to perform their oral presentations one by one. The first keynote speaker, Dr. Sunil Kumar Jha, from Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, China. He presented a speech: Data Fusion Approaches in Human Body Odor Data Mining. The objective of the present research talk is to introduce audience about the data fusion and human body odor and to demonstrate research results related to search for an optimal subset of VOCs in body odor, which can produce differentiation in an individual by using the combination of analytical methods and chemometric analysis. The second keynote speaker, Prof. Chunbo Xiu, from Tiangong University, China. He shared a speech on his specialty related to Memristive Cellular Neural Network & Its Dynamic Characteristic Analysis. He demonstrated that chaotic memristive CNN system can be used in the secure communication by the chaos synchronization based on sliding mode control. Assoc. Prof. Pavel Loskot, from Zhejiang University-University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Institute (ZJUI), our third keynote speakers. He presented a speech: Monte Carlo Simulations Revisited. Their insightful speeches made every participant praised this conference for disseminating useful knowledge.We were glad to share with you that we received lots of submissions from the conference and we selected a bunch of high-quality papers and compiled them into the proceedings after rigorously reviewed them. These papers feature following topics but are not limited to: Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and other related topics. The initial purpose of the conference is to gather researchers, academia and industries in a platform to exchange views, share ideas and discuss current researches in the field of civil and environmental engineering. This include current research and development especially in the advancement of various scope related fundamentals and applications. This conference is expected to spur a fruitful debate and discussion, scientifically bring fresh ideas and at the same time, create a networking opportunity and strong collaboration between the participants.Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, unfortunately, we have reached an agreement to opt for a virtual conference instead of the planned physical conference in the metropolitan city of Penang, Malaysia. Since the pandemic in Malaysia is still unstable and shows no sign of settling soon, and no mass gathering is allowed, this would be the best choice as to put everyone’s health a priority. Despite that, our team has managed to meet regularly via face to face discussions and virtual meetings, in order to ensure the quality of the conference and manuscript is not compromised.The conference was officiated on 9th December 2021 by the UniMAP’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Zaliman Sauli at Auditorium of UniMAP Chancellory Building with minimal physical attendees among the conference organizing committee member to allow for social distancing, and with more than 60 attendees following through Google meet platform. The opening ceremony was broadcasted live via UniMAP’s official Facebook page.Two esteemed keynote speakers were invited for the plenary sessions, i.e., Dato’ Seri Ir. Dr. Zaini Ujang (Secretary General, Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water Malaysia) and the Dato’ Ir. Haji Mohamad Zulkefly Sulaiman (Director General, Public Work Department Malaysia).The online parallel sessions were successfully organised at Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Library, Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) using Google Meet platform. Researchers, academicians and students are among the viewers of the virtual conference. The parallel sessions were conducted according to the theme of publication. Details of the presentation schedule were included in the upcoming section. Each parallel session was chaired by an academician in the related field of Civil and Environmental Engineering to ensure smooth and lively discussions. Each session took about 15 minutes of presentation and 5 minutes of Q&A. Overall, 70 papers were accepted for CENVIRON2021 after rigorous peer review process.In summary, the success of the conference is a team effort. I am grateful to all the committee members who worked very hard to make this event a successful one. We would also like to thank all the authors who submitted their papers to the conference, and the reviewers who contributed to the review process, ensuring quality publication of the conference proceedings. Due to recent pandemic, 2022 8th International Conference on Applied Materials and Manufacturing Technology (ICAMMT 2022) was held virtually online on April 15th-17th, 2022. The decision to hold the virtual conference was made in compliance with many restrictions and regulations that were imposed by countries around the globe. Such restrictions were made to minimize the risk of people contracting or spreading the COVID-19 through physical contact. His research area includes Characterization of mechanical and mechanical properties of polymer hydrogels, research and development of biomimetic electroactive hydrogels, and applications of polymer materials in microfluidic devices and biomedicine. Lastly, we were glad to invite Prof. Md. Akhtaruzzaman, Solar Energy Research Institute (SERI) of The National University of Malaysia as our finale keynote speakers. He studied on the design and synthesis of new organic heterocyclic compounds for EL device application. Their insightful speeches had triggered heated discussion in the third session of the conference. Every participant praised this conference for disseminating useful and insightful knowledge.The proceedings are a compilation of the accepted papers and represent an interesting outcome of the conference. Prof. Juan Yu from Chongqing University, China, talked about Data-driven Methods for Operational Reliability Assessment of Power Systems Integrated with High-penetration Renewables. Her speech focusing on the computational efficiency of the operational reliability assessment in power systems that contain high penetration renewables, this presentation lays a theoretical foundation to support practical applications of an online high-accuracy operational reliability assessment. Prof. Alberto Borghetti, University of Bologna, Italy, shared a speech on his specialty related to Scheduling problems in local energy communities. This presentation is aimed to describe some models that could be useful for the operation of energy communities and distribution networks where trading between neighbors becomes significant. A/Prof. Farhad Shahnia, Murdoch University, Australia, made an insightful speech on Recent and Future Research on Microgrid Clusters. This talk briefly introduced the progress of research in this field around the world and Australia, and also discussed some of the technical challenges associated with interconnection of neighbouring microgrids as a key step to improve their survivability in the course of unexpected imbalances between the demand and the available generation from intermittent renewable resources. Prof. Xinyu Chen, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China, delivered a speech: Towards Higher Penetration of Renewable Challenge and Opportunities. This talk focused on deepen the understanding of how the environmental regulations and low carbon polices influence the operation, planning and markets for power systems in different counties. As the last keynote speaker, Prof. Shouxiang Wang from Tianjin University, China. His research area: microgrid, smart distribution system, uncertainty analysis of power system.We are glad to share with you that we received lots of submissions from the conference and we selected a bunch of high-quality papers and compiled them into the proceedings after rigorously reviewed them.
