PrefaceThe previous First International Conference on Advances in Energy Resources and Environment Engineering (ICAESEE 2015) was organized by Northeast Petroleum University, China and successfully taken place on March 14-15, 2015 in Daqing, China.The 2016 2nd International Conference on Advances in Energy Resources and Environment Engineering (ICAESEE 2016) has been held on December 30-31, 2016 in Guangzhou, China. ICAESEE 2016 is to bring together innovative academics and industrial experts in the field of energy resources and environment engineering to a common forum. The primary goal of the conference is to promote research and developmental activities in energy resources and environment engineering and another goal is to promote scientific information interchange between researchers, developers, engineers, students, and practitioners working all around the world. The conference will be held every year to make it an ideal platform for people to share views and experiences in energy resources and environment engineering and related areas.The conference will be held every year to make it an ideal platform for people to share views and experiences in energy resources and environment engineering and related areas. We invite original papers describing an idea or concept, addressing issues and problems, or focusing empirically on potential or realistic fields.In order to organize ICAESEE 2016, we have sent our invitation to scholars and researchers from all around the world. Eventually, over 200 submissions were submitted to us. These papers have gone through a strict reviewing process performed by our international reviewers and 74 papers have been accepted. All the submissions were double-blind reviewed, both the reviewers and the authors remaining anonymous. First, all the submissions were divided into several chapters according to the topics, and the information of the authors, including name, affiliation, email and so on, removed. Then the TPC chairs assigned the submissions to reviewers according to their research interests. Each submission was reviewed by two reviewers. The review results should be sent to chairs on time. If two reviewers had conflicting opinions, the paper would be transmitted to the third reviewer assigned by the chairs. We are delighted to welcome our colleagues from the UK, Europe and the rest of the world to this 15th UKSim International Conference on Modelling and Simulation, held at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, UK. It follows in the footsteps of last year's successful event, which represented the 14th UKSim International Conference on Modelling and Simulation, also held at Emmanuel College. The conference program committee has organized an exciting and balanced program comprising presentations from distinguished experts in the field, and important and wide-ranging contributions on state-of-the-art research that provide new insights into the latest innovations in the field of modelling and simulation. It is our honor to present the Proceedings of the 2024 3rd International Conference on Mechanical, Aerospace Technology and Materials Application (MATMA 2024). MATMA 2024 is an event that brings together the world’s leading experts and scholars in the field of mechanical and aerospace technology, and is also an excellent platform for sharing the latest research results and discussing the application of cutting-edge technologies in related domains. The conference aims to discuss the latest progress and challenges in mechanical engineering, aerospace technology and materials applications, and to promote the innovation of related theories and technological breakthroughs. Through these communications, we have jointly explored the current and future development direction of mechanical engineering, aerospace technology and materials applications, stimulated innovative thinking, and promoted academic exchanges and cooperation. The 2022 4th International Conference on Artificial Intelligence Technologies and Applications (ICAITA 2022), hosted by Changchun University of Science and Technology, was successfully held on August 19-21, 2022 in Changchun, China as a virtual event. Aiming to bring together innovative academics and industrial experts in the field of Artificial Intelligence Technologies and Applications to a common forum, ICAITA 2022 promoted research and developmental activities in this field.We had the honor of having invited Professor Huamin Yang from Changchun University of Science and Technology, Professor Shoufeng Tong from Changchun University of Science and Technology, and Professor Zhijun Zhang from South China University of Technology to serve as our General Conference Chairs. The online conference was composed of keynote speeches, oral presentations, and online Q&A discussion, attracting 120 individuals worldwide. Firstly, keynote speakers were each allocated 30-45 minutes to hold their speeches. Then in the oral presentations, the excellent papers we had selected were presented by their authors by turns.During the conference, six distinguished professors were invited as keynote speakers to address speeches. Among them, Prof. Qinmin Yang from Zhejiang University, China addressed a thought-provoking speech on Theoretical Research and Practice in Intelligent Control Design for Wind Energy. By studying the latest theoretical progress in the field of industrial artificial intelligence and control, this research attempted to propose some new methods to improve the efficiency and reliability of wind power access and regulation, hoping to provide some new tools and methods for the realization of the next-generation energy network in our country. Moreover, Prof. Shujun Li from University of Kent, UK made a report on When Humans and Computers Come Together: A New or Resurged Old Research Paradigm? He studied the historical roots of key concepts of putting humans and computers together and application backgrounds of such topics and concepts, and made his attempt on connecting many of them. Last but not least, Prof. Zhigeng Pan from Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology, China shared with us his research: Application of VR/AR and AI to Education in Metaverse, in which he briefly introduced VR/AR/Human-Computer Interaction technologies in the metaverse and discussed the application of these technologies in smart education. Their dramatic keynote speeches had triggered heated discussion. Besides, every participant praised this conference for disseminating useful and insightful knowledge.The proceedings of ICAITA 2022 are a compilation of the accepted papers and represent an interesting outcome of the conference. These papers feature but are not limited to the following topics: Artificial Neural Networks, Neuroinformatics, DNA Computing and Quantum Computing, Fuzzy Logic and Methods, Machine Learning, etc. All the papers have been checked through rigorous review and processes to meet the requirements of publication.On behalf of the conference organizing committee, we would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to all the keynote speakers, peer reviewers, and all the participants. The 15th International Conference on X-ray Absorption Fine Structure (XAFS15) was held on 22-28 July 2012 in Beijing, P. R. China. About 340 scientists from 34 countries attended this important international event. Figure 1. Main hall of XAFS15.The rapidly increasing application of XAFS to the study of a large variety of materials and the operation of the new SR source led to the first meeting of XAFS users in 1981 in England. Following that a further 14 International Conferences have been held. Comparing a breakdown of attendees according to their national origin, it is clear that participation is spreading to include attendees from more and more countries every year.The strategy of development in China of science and education is increasing quickly thanks to the large investment in scientific and technological research and infrastructure. There are three Synchrotron Radiation facilities in mainland China, Hefei Light Source (HLS) in the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSRL), Beijing Synchrotron Radiation Facility (BSRF) in the Institute of High Energy Physics, and Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF) in the Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics. More than 10000 users and over 5000 proposals run at these facilities. Among them, many teams from the USA, Japan, German, Italy, Russia, and other countries. More than 3000 manuscript were published in SCI journals, including (incomplete) Science (7), Nature (10), Nature Series (7), PNAS (3), JACS (12), Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. (15), Nano Lett. (2), etc.In XAFS15, the participants contributed 18 plenary invited talks, 16 parallel invited talks, 136 oral presentations, 12 special talks, and 219 poster presentations. 3D laser-forming strategies for sheet metal by geometrical information

Deformation Behaviors of Laser Forming of Ring Sheet Metals

Laser forming of sheet metal offers the advantages of requiring no hard tooling, no spring back and no external force. Thus this technology reduces cost, increases flexibility and accuracy. Laser forming is a complicated and transient thermo-mechanical process involving elastic and plastic strain dependent on time history. How to control and enhance the accuracy of the laser forming attracts much attention. This paper put forward a new strategy to control and reduce the edge effects in laser forming. Numerical simulations and experiments were also carried out to validate the presented strategy.

The 4th International Conference on Biosciences (The 4th ICoBio) https://biologi.ipb.ac.id/web/en/page/icobio/ Introduction of the 4th ICoBio 2021 The International Conference on Biosciences (ICoBio) is a biennial international conference organized by the Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, IPB University, Indonesia, since 2015. For this year, the 4th ICoBio 2021 was held in conjunction with the 17th National Congress of the Indonesian Biological Society (PBI), and it also collaborated with Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Malaysia. The conference was held on 10-12th August 2021. This conference was designed to facilitate academicians, researchers, students, and practitioners related to the field of biosciences worldwide to gather and share information, ideas, knowledge, and research results as well as to strengthen research network and collaboration in a fruitful scientific environment. This year’s conference was held virtually due to COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown in several areas around the world that limited the travelling permit issue.It is beyond doubt that biosciences play a central role in every aspect of life. Bioscience and innovations are closely related with various inter and trans-disciplinary fields, leading to practical solutions which may contribute to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) strategic issues occurring in the disruptive era of industrial revolutions 4.0. Indeed, today we are facing serious issues including food and feed security, energy scarcity, healthcare issues, global warming, and others. Integration of biological fields with engineering, information technology, economy, and social sciences may serve as potential strategies to combat such challenging issues. Therefore, this kind of innovation and finding urgently needs to be informed to the science society this year.The 4th ICoBio 2021 was taking the theme “Bioscience Innovations for Sustainable Development Goals”. This conference was intended to gain insight into current trends in research and development related to biology, such as interdisciplinary approaches that are important for understanding biology and its applications. Research topics in this conference were divided into five main groups focusing on (1) Biodiversity, Conservation Biology and Climate Change; (2) Bioprospecting, Health Issues, and Industrial Biology; (3) Omics, Bioinformatics, and Computational Biology; (4) Techno-biology and Bioengineering; and (5) Smart and Sustainable Agro-maritime.The 4th ICoBio 2021 also served as a place for realizing existing collaboration between the Department of Biology, IPB University with its national and international partners, such as Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia, and Kasetsart University, Thailand, Tottori University, Japan, and also strengthening collaboration with University of Missouri, Colombia, USA; and Iowa State University, USA. We also expect to build partnerships with China Agricultural University, China; Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology, Chatha Jammu, India; Mariano Marcos State University, Philippines; and CNRS - Museum National d’Histoire Naturelle, Universite de Paris, France in the near future.The 4th ICoBio 2021 invited two prominekeynotes and six well known invited speakers related to the theme. The conference was attended by prominent speakers and participants from several countries, including Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, India, China, Japan, the USA, France and Indonesia. In total, there were 217 registered participants consisting of 181 oral presenters and 36 participants only. The International Symposium Series on Measurement Technology and Intelligent Instruments (ISMTII) has progressed considerably over the 15 years of its existence. The first and second conferences were held in 1989 and 1993, respectively at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, in China in conjunction with the University of Birmingham in the UK, and organised by Professor Zhu Li, the founding chairman. The third symposium was held in 1996 at the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan. The fourth in the series was held in 1998 at the University of Miskolc, Hungary, the fifth was held at the National Institute for Standards, Egypt in 2001 and the sixth conference was organised by Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2003. The seventh in the series and an associated seminar on "History and Future Prospects in the Field of Measurement and Instrumentation" were hosted at the University of Huddersfield, UK.The subject covered in this series is wide-ranging and detailed. "Measurement Technology and Intelligent Instruments" is in fact a combination of enabling technologies brought together to make possible more meaningful metrology of a wide range of disciplines. This involves bringing together subjects such as the design and use of sensors measuring displacement and its derivatives; flow, pressure, temperature. Of critical importance is calibration and traceability without which quality control cannot be guaranteed. One aspect of measurement which is attracting much interest is the optimisation of information obtained from sensors and the use of the more significant information to improve instrument usage. Automatic checks on the data can be made to improve fidelity and speed up operation.Much effort has been expended in understanding the nature of the measurand and utilising the latest mathematical techniques to isolate hitherto untypical parameters such as scratches. Many of these new parameters lie outside the capability of traditional instruments. It is hoped that exposure of these new techniques in the proceedings will open the door to their use in a much wider range of applications than occurs at present. Also some papers devoted to measurement problems in conventional applications such as the railways should reassure sceptics that advanced theory in mathematics and associated software algorithms is useful today as well as in the future.Another aim of the publication is to demonstrate that measurement problems in nanotechnology and macro metrology are not necessarily mutually exclusive. Engineering and physics as well as biology and chemistry can all benefit from the integration of ideas and methods as shown.The global relevance of the subjects depicted in this series of papers is reflected in the diverse backgrounds and disciplines of the contributors. The experience of live communication with scientists, practitioners, representatives of the real economy will allow buduyuschim experts to determine its scientific direction for a successful solution of important problems of import substitution and enhancing competitiveness assigned to the engineering industry of our country.

Catalyst: Size Distribution in Self-Assembly Matters

In recent years, laser forming (LF) has developed into a promising technique for sheet metal forming, rapid prototyping and dimensional correction in the aerospace industry. In this work, the effect of the very high heating and cooling rates experienced during LF on the metallurgical properties of a Ti-6Al-4V alloy were investigated. Optical microscopy, FEGSEM and TEM were used to establish the phase morphology, size and elemental distribution within the laser affected region, or heat affected zone (HAZ). It was found that the microstructure produced during LF is extremely complicated with the phase morphology and phase distribution varying throughout the HAZ. Microhardness tests have shown a progressive increase in hardness on approaching the surface incident to the laser beam, associated with the formation of a martensitic phase. In addition tests have been performed to establish the influence of the HAZ on strain localisation during tensile deformation and the mechanical properties of laser formed sheets.In recent years, laser forming (LF) has developed into a promising technique for sheet metal forming, rapid prototyping and dimensional correction in the aerospace industry. In this work, the effect of the very high heating and cooling rates experienced during LF on the metallurgical properties of a Ti-6Al-4V alloy were investigated. Optical microscopy, FEGSEM and TEM were used to establish the phase morphology, size and elemental distribution within the laser affected region, or heat affected zone (HAZ). It was found that the microstructure produced during LF is extremely complicated with the phase morphology and phase distribution varying throughout the HAZ. Microhardness tests have shown a progressive increase in hardness on approaching the surface incident to the laser beam, associated with the formation of a martensitic phase.
