Abstract
Recent advances in AIDS medical treatments are moving the disease toward a manageable chronic illness, and many patients are confronting issues related to the complexity of treatment, the associated financial burden, serious side effects, and the failure of some treatments. The choices that five HIV-infected individuals have made, and their psychological responses to AIDS treatments are chronicled.
