Promoting Professional IT Training Environment Construction with Virtual Machine Technology

The programming foundation course which based on Python has become an important basic course for different disciplines in universities. In experimental teaching, the main difficulty is the environment configuration and rapid deployment of Python. Virtualization technology is a common method to solve this problem. However, there are some problems, such as low resource utilization, insufficient support for concurrent, slow start, and so on. So, a new method for constructing the teaching experiment platform of the course using Docker container technology is proposed. This method can quickly realize the dynamic allocation, deployment and management of the running environment image according to the needs of students. Experimental results show that this method has obvious advantages in terms of resource utilization, concurrent users, response time, construction cost and so on, compared with virtual machine technology

The virtual machine technology as new teaching aids in the teaching of computer network security has very good application prospect. At the same time, the virtual machine technology is adopted to simulate the real network teaching environment and improve teachers' teaching effect and has become a kind of effective means to ensure the quality of teaching. The virtual machine technology is adopted to enhance the teaching effect of Network Security. The installation and use of the virtual machine software VMware,setting a virtual network environment on single computer, and simulating attacks and defense on network safety, the teaching effect in both theory and practice teaching is promoted.The virtual machine technology application in computer network has very broad prospects.

The article considers the areas related to the training of IT specialists in Russia. Currently, the state pays more attention to the formation and development of the IT industry, official documents have been adopted concerning the training of relevant specialists, budget places for applicants to IT specialties are increasing. Considering that everything is changing and developing rapidly in the IT field, specialists have to constantly study, since the knowledge gained at the university is not enough after a while. The article discusses the main problems that one has to face in the educational process when preparing «IT specialists». Technical and technological support for practical classes and research activities, involvement of business practitioners in the educational process, advanced training of teachers involved in training personnel for the IT industry, interaction «college — university», «school — university» are just some aspects for the successful implementation of training programs in IT areas and specialties.

This study aims to explore the application of Virtual Reality (VR) and virtual machine technology in the restoration of ancient books, and to compare these methods with traditional restoration techniques. By elucidating the current status of ancient book restoration and the evolution of relevant technologies, the study identifies both the challenges and opportunities for cultural heritage preservation in the digital age. Additionally, the study introduces examples of virtual machine technology applications in data backup, restoration environment simulation, and cross-platform compatibility. Through case comparison analysis, the study comprehensively evaluates traditional and new technologies in terms of restoration quality, speed, and reliability. Furthermore, a cost-benefit analysis was conducted, considering labor, materials, and technology costs. The research results indicate that VR and virtual machine technology have significant advantages in enhancing restoration efficiency, reducing risks, and improving restoration accuracy. Lastly, the study anticipates future trends in restoration technology development and the potential for multi-technology integration, suggesting that intelligent and standardized approaches are crucial directions for future cultural heritage preservation.

With the rapid development of cloud computing, virtualization technology as a key technology in cloud computing is also constantly evolving. Virtualization technology has faced a major challenges in the contradiction between application-to-application independence and resource interoperability. As a kind of virtual technology based on operating system, the container perfectly solved the problem of program independence and resource sharing. This paper introduces the current two container technologies: Docker and Rkt. It firstly overviews the traditional virtual machine and container technology and finally tests the CUP and I/O performance of two containers through the special tools.

Virtual machine technology is rapidly gaining acceptance as a fundamental building block in enterprise data centers. It is most known for improving efficiency and ease of management. However, it also provides a compelling approach to enhancing system security, offering new ways to rearchitect todays systems and opening the door for a wide range of future security technologies. While this technology is meant to enhance the security of computer systems, some recent attacks show that virtual machine technology has many weaknesses and becomes exposed to many security threats. In this paper we present some of these threats and show how we protect these systems through intrusion detection and security policies mechanisms.

Person–organization fit (P–O fit) research and practice have been hindered on account of the difficulty of operationalizing the richness, complexity and subjectivity of the P–O fit phenomenon. P–O fit for technology professionals is further complicated by the rapidly changing demands the IT profession places on its constituents to continually engage in training and development. A human capital perspective is adopted as a lens through which to view the IT professional's P–O fit, and Social Cognitive Theory is proposed as a framework within which to incorporate the principles of Concourse Theory, which is the guiding philosophy of Q‐Methodology and Q‐sorts. The Q‐methodology was used as a means to operationalize the IT professional's P–O fit with respect to IT training and development. Analysis revealed five distinct P–O fit types of perspectives that explained 35% of the population variance. Post‐hoc analysis of the five types revealed that they are interpretable through the lens of the human capital perspective. The results show promise for continued research on the subject, as well as implications for both researchers and practitioners.

Increasing the accuracy of the portrayal of all of the elements of a simulation environment has long been a prime goal of the modeling and simulation community; a goal that has remained far out of reach for many reasons. One of the greatest hurdles facing simulation developers in the effort to increase simulation accuracy is the need to segregate information across the entire simulation environment according to access restrictions in order to insure the integrity, security, and reliability requirements imposed on the data. However, this need for segregation does not mean that those with the highest access permissions should be forced to use multiple computers and displays to integrate the information that they need or that intelligent agents should be restricted in their access to the information that they need in order to adequately assist their human operators. In this paper, we present a potential solution to the problem of integrating and segregating data, which is the use of virtual machine and virtual private network technology in order to maintain segregation of data, control access, and control intercommunication.

Now with the wide use of computer network and e-commerce, network security has become an important problem that it must be considered and resolved. More and more professions in the enterprises and individuals are subjected to the security problem in different degree. It is looked for the more reliable safety solutions. In the rapid development of the networks, emphasis on network information security is growing. Through analyzing the network information security factor, several common network information security policies are proposed, and the system of network information security is formed. By using virtual machine technology, network attacks and network protection subsystem are virtually out on a server, the configuration management of the vast majority of current network operations and network attack protection can be realized. The training environment of network attack and defense with function is more comprehensive, more superior performance and more realistic simulation experiments degree. Then, network security threats and defense strategies are summarized in this paper.

Driven by market competitiveness enhancement, service improvement, and working effectiveness promotion, more and more organizations have realized their potentials and paid a lot of attentions to them (Chau & Hu, 2002). As estimated, about 50% of new capital investment has been put in information technology (Westland & Clark, 2000). Despite its great potentials, users’ acceptance or adoption of these technologies does not live up to the initial expectations (Sun & Zhang, 2004). It is obvious that ITs are useless unless users accept and subsequently use them. Therefore, user technology acceptance becomes a hot topic and much effort has been made in order to obtain a deep understanding of how and why users accept certain technologies. Several models have been proposed in the last 2 decades and subsequent studies tested them (Table 1). New virtual technologies, especially collaborative technologies, enable some new forms of interaction. For example, members in virtual teams can work simultaneously on a document together as a distributed team, remotely access shared information from anywhere, or record team activities (Majchrzak et al., 2000). Virtual technologies, like other types of technology, have to be accepted and used by users first. However, virtual technologies, while sharing certain characteristics with other technologies, have special features. Therefore, this article is an attempt to identify the structure and factors influence user acceptance of virtual technologies based on existing user technology acceptance models. In general, the existing technology acceptance models can still be used for virtual technologies. Prior studies have confirmed that users accept virtual technologies in a similar way as other technologies (Moon & Kim, 2001; Yager, 1999; Chen et al., 2002). For example, Moon and Kim (2001) studied the acceptance of the World Wide Web (WWW). According to their study, the results about key factors in extant models are consistent with prior studies, which means that the factors influencing user acceptance of general technologies, although a little different, are also suitable for virtual technologies. Another example is Yager’s study (1999), in which many factors, such as usefulness, ease of use that are traditionally considered to be important for technology acceptance in general, are still valid for virtual technologies. Therefore, we can borrow factors from existing models. However, virtual technologies have their own characteristics. Therefore the factors contributing to user acceptance are likely to be different (Moon & Kim, 2001). So we need to propose new factors pertaining to the new type of technology. For example, playfulness is considered as an additional factor that is especially influential for virtual technologies (Moon & Kim, 2001). In summary, we can refer to existing models while considering the characteristics of virtual technologies. Actually, it is a highly valid approach (Chen et al., 2002).

IntroductionThe use of virtual environments in rehabilitation has been growing. The current systematic review aimed to evaluate how and where virtual technologies are combined with music in rehabilitation.MethodsA literature search was conducted in seven databases (ACM Digital Library, CINAHL Complete, Cochrane Library, Computer Science database, Medline, Nursing & Allied Health database, and Scopus). It included articles published from 2006 to February 2023. The search followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines for study selection. Twelve studies with 160 participants were included in the review. In addition, a descriptive approach was used to gather data from the studies for the areas of interest.ResultsVirtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality were most familiar and used in rehabilitation, but Mixed Reality, and Extended Reality were less studied. It became evident that equipment, diverse applications, assessment metrics, training environments, and methodologies were highly varied. Most of the studies were pilots, the overall quality of included studies was rated moderate, and the risk of bias was high in the included studies. The studies on motor rehabilitation after stroke showed a clinical improvement in hand functions, specifically fractionation. Furthermore, studies that included motivation, adherence, and mental health, slightly supported the idea that VR technologies with music have the potential to promote motivation and exercise adherence, increase positive emotions, and decrease anxiety. In addition, user experience and feasibility studies presented technologies combined with music to be safe and acceptable in rehabilitation.DiscussionIn light of these findings, it can be inferred that virtual technologies with music offer promising avenues for future rehabilitation research. However, some confusion was obtained related to the included studies’ definitions of technologies and management terms. Furthermore, it is important to note the limited number of studies and participants, the heterogeneity among participants, and the overall quality of the studies that restrict the generalizability of these results to a larger population. Therefore, future researchers should define concepts and terms, delve deeper into this area to uncover the potential benefits, and clarify the specific mechanisms through which virtual technologies with music can positively impact rehabilitation outcomes.

In China, with the continuous advance of cloud computing technologies such as virtualization technology and big data processing technology, small and medium-sized enterprises are constantly updating and improving their management information system. In recent years, computer network technology and information technology have been gradually applied to enterprise management. With the development of enterprises, a large number of heterogeneous software services deployed on different servers are accumulated in enterprises. Cloud computing can not only reduce the cost of informatization construction of small and medium-sized enterprises, strengthen the integration of information resources, promote resource sharing, but also promote enterprise management and service innovation. In view of the development of social economy and the advance of the industry, if the enterprise wants to be better based on the market, it must realize the scientific management mode, and constantly improve the efficiency and quality of work. Through the cloud computing model, this paper introduces the system construction of the management information system for small and medium-sized enterprises in the cloud computing environment and the implementation scheme of enterprises in the cloud computing environment.

In this paper, we investigate the benefits that organisations can reap by using "Cloud Computing" providers to augment the computing capacity of their local infrastructure. We evaluate the cost of seven scheduling strategies used by an organisation that operates a cluster managed by virtual machine technology and seeks to utilise resources from a remote Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) provider to reduce the response time of its user requests. Requests for virtual machines are submitted to the organisation's cluster, but additional virtual machines are instantiated in the remote provider and added to the local cluster when there are insufficient resources to serve the users' requests. Naive scheduling strategies can have a great impact on the amount paid by the organisation for using the remote resources, potentially increasing the overall cost with the use of IaaS. Therefore, in this work we investigate seven scheduling strategies that consider the use of resources from the "Cloud", to understand how these strategies achieve a balance between performance and usage cost, and how much they improve the requests' response times.

With the virtual machine technologies, Virtual Ad hoc Network (VAN) testbed was designed to evaluate functional correctness and communication performance of Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) applications. When VAN is used for large-scale testing that requires hundreds of virtual machines, storage redundancy becomes an issue. Although Content Addressable Storage (CAS) techniques were designed to address the storage redundancy issue, it incurred online hash computation overhead for every write access to disk blocks, which affects testing accuracy. We present File-level Block Sharing (FBS) that achieves the same functionality of CAS while removing the online computation overhead. By getting file-to-block mappings through read-only mounting, FBS only needs to handle the blocks belonging to newly-installed files offline and thus incurs little online overhead. Our prototype showed no online overhead statistically and low offline overhead. The prototype was developed and its overhead with respect to block-level storage deduplication was analyzed under both Ext2/3/4 and NTFS file systems.

Network intrusions become a signification threat to network servers and its availability. A simple intrusion can suspend the organization's network services and can lead to a financial disaster. In this paper, we propose a framework called TimeVM to mitigate, or even eliminate, the infection of a network intrusion on-line as fast as possible. The framework is based on the virtual machine technology and traffic-replay-based recovery. TimeVM gives the illusion of machine. TimeVM logs only the network traffic to a server and replays the logged traffic to multiple shadow virtual machines (Shadow VM) after different time delays (time lags). Consequently, each Shadow VM will represent the server at different time in history. When attack/infection is detected, TimeVM enables navigating through the traffic history (logs), picking uninfected Shadow VM, removing the attack traffic, and then fast-replaying the entire traffic history to this Shadow VM. As a result, a typical up-to-date uninfected version of the original system can be constructed.The paper shows the implementation details for TimeVM. It also addresses many practical challenges related to how to configure and deploy TimeVM in a system in order to minimize the recovery time. We present analytical framework and extensive evaluation to validate our approach in different environments.
