Abstract

Abstract This chapter introduces the terminology of random processes and their properties; stationarity, correlation function, power spectral density, and the Wiener–Khinchin theorem. The theory of linear, causual, and time-invariant systems is presented, as is and their characterization in terms of impulse response and frequency response function. Response to random input is next examined. The correlation functions and power spectral densitites of output in terms of those of input are given.
