Recent advances in wireless communication utilizes one of the conservative strategies of interleaving methodology. Interleaver’s plays a vital role in differentiating the users in OFDM-IDMA and IDMA scheme thus avoiding multiple access interference. OFDM-IDMA is a hybrid scheme which satisfies the configuration for 4G technology. The design complexity of a receiver depends on the hardware constraints. The motto of the paper is to propose an interleaver with less complexity. This paper deals with the hardware constraints of deterministic interleavers in OFDM-IDMA system. The fundamental taxonomy of interleaver is Random interleaver which scrambles data of desperate users with diverse patterns. But the crucial parameters of a random interleaver like hardware requisite, bandwidth consumption, throughput transmission, and memory constraint at transmitter and receiver end is utmost. Hence a deterministic interleaver namely modified circular shifting interleaver and clockwise interleaver is designed and their requirements are compared with that of random interleaver and tabulated. Again it expounds on system quintessential which gives an apothegmatic introduction about OFDM-IDMA transmitter and receiver. The system model uses a 16 QAM and a convolutional encoder with a code rate of ½. The system is simulated in Xilinx platform for comparison on hardware constraints utilizing eight users with data of eight bits/chip. The clockwise interleaver utilizes minimum hardware and time constraints. In addition OFDM-IDMA system with deterministic interleaver is implemented in ALTERA FPGA kit.
