In order to enrich and improve the collection of library digital information resources, this paper puts forward an optimization method of library digital resources based on semantic information retrieval. The method collects related information automatically from the Internet using semantic information retrieval, and selects the relevance value meeting the preset threshold of the network information to expand and update library digital resources. The experiment result shows that these methods gets a good expectant performance and dramatically optimize the library digital resources and improve the efficiency of resource retrieval and utilization.

The construction of a remote access system for digital resources in academic libraries has strong feasibility and is of practical significance for library digital services under the network environment. The wide application of big data has brought unprecedented opportunities and challenges to the construction of digital resources in academic libraries. This paper proposes a linked data-oriented semantic digital library resource description and organization framework. The framework has four levels: metadata layer, ontology layer, linked data layer and application layer. Its core is the construction and association of RDF semantic metadata. Taking the data in the field of Books, Information and Archives as an example, the framework is implemented. The focus of the implementation is on the ontology layer and the associated data layer, including the design of related ontology, the automatic conversion of common metadata to semantic metadata, The establishment of RDF semantic links between different data sets, the publication of related data, etc.

PurposeBlockchain technology is a distributed and decentralized public digital ledger, which is employed to save dynamic transaction data and static records across several computers so that each record could not be modified retroactively without the collusion of the network and alteration of all subsequent blocks. Recently, it has become immensely popular in digital resource sharing in different research areas such as healthcare, smart cities, cryptocurrency and libraries. Since the current eLibrary systems are vulnerable to issues such as unauthorized access, plagiarism, etc., there is a lack of access control system that can efficiently address these issues.Design/methodology/approachThe authors designed a conceptual model for evaluating the users' intention in the use of blockchain-based digital libraries, which can facilitate the resource organization and provide additional security to interactive processes between users. To conduct our survey, the authors devised and shared two versions, English and Chinese, among 298 participants. Moreover, 7 PhD students participated in the pre-testing of the questioner design. The authors analyzed the demographic data using the Jamovi software and SmartPLS in order to generate the path modeling.FindingsThis study revealed that blockchain technology adaption in eLibraries is essential for enhancing the quality of services, infrastructure and resources for libraries. The study’s results show that optimism, informativeness, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude and intention to use blockchain technology for accessing digital resources in libraries.Originality/valueThis study contributes to the adoption of blockchain technology in the digital library. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this work is the first empirical attempt to provide a new perspective of developing digital libraries based on security policies. This model shows the underpinning knowledge to manage digital resources, which can facilitate the design phases and enhance the management costs in eLibraries.

The library can quickly create and manage its own data center. University library will allow to maintain greater control over applications and data storage that contain sensitive private information about students. Using multi-core processors are considered the design of future product microprocessors. Not only is it a solution for Central Processing Unit (CPU) speeds, also reduces consumption because many cores at lower frequencies collectively produce less to the cores with their total computing. Existing methods are K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) and Principle Component Analysis (PCA) is an information resources have gradually shifted from digital analog analysis the Digital libraries are beginning to enter the computing increased the cost and time. Cloud computing Digital Information Resources Integration Library is suitable for architecture model applications, to provide a new solution for digital library, construction intensity and digital resource sharing. To overcome the issue in this work proposed Sequence Recurrent Neural Network (SRNN) using mobile library services, some of which can be used by various university libraries and other services already find help libraries that gather their information in a fast and time-limited way without external and time restrictions. The value of this is Help of University libraries can identify and adapt mobile processors. With these mobile initiatives, libraries can offer a wide range of mobile services to interested users. It has been shown by test results that adding processor cores to the data center increases system performance, reduces consumption, and has other benefits.

PurposeTo obtain first‐hand data on the main challenges in preserving digital resources in libraries, archives and information centres in China.Design/methodology/approachThe data in this paper have been acquired by e‐mail questionnaire. The conclusions are based on feedback from 57 respondents, distributed in 14 provinces in China, who work in libraries, archives and information centres with rich digital collections and long‐term experience in preserving digital resources.FindingsThe authors consider that the long‐term preservation of digital resources in China faces two critical difficulties: firstly, the pressure on preserving digital resources has not been fully recognised and so the relevant training in the management and operation of digital preservation is absent; secondly, government departments attach little importance to this field and lack uniform guidelines. Therefore, the paper suggests that relevant international conferences or workshops should be held in China, and that a working group led by the National Development and Reform Commission of China should be set up to plan the construction, sharing and maintenance of Chinese digital resources.Research limitations/implicationsThis research is limited to Chinese administration systems. Although the data in this paper are authentic and representative, nevertheless it is a small sample of the numerous document collection organisations in the country.Practical implicationsThe data and analysis in this paper should greatly help international colleagues understand the status regarding the preservation of digital resources in China.Originality/valueThis research is the first of its kind undertaken in China and will provide a new vision for international peers and organisations involved in digital documentary heritage around the world.

How to use the information resources is a very important part of graduate education. Meanwhile digital libraries can provide instructors and students with a repository of digital resources that have been peer reviewed and checked for accuracy and authenticity. We take the knowledge maps as a tool to combine the digital resources and the e-Learning environment. Knowledge maps can integrate the related digital resources, which will make the way of looking for the resources and the relationship of knowledge turn to the form of map so that the learners can better understand it. In this process we use the RDF, ontology language, XML etc. standards and technology and digital library can provide API to the knowledge maps. The application of knowledge maps can construct the macrostructure of knowledge and help the graduates form their knowledge system and obtain knowledge. With the help of the knowledge maps, the graduates' innovation ability will be trained well.

Digital libraries have been and are been created in a number of countries. In the USA, the National Science Foundation has created a National Science, Mathematics, Engineering and Technology Digital Library (NSDL). One of the digital libraries within NSDL is the Geotechnical, Rock and Water Resources (GROW), which is Phase 1 of a National Civil Engineering Educational Resources Library. GROW and NSDL have links to high quality learning materials that can be used to develop courses for different audiences ranging from middle school to graduates and professionals. Moreover, these digital libraries provide a new environment for individual and collaborative learning. This paper deals with the use of educational materials within digital libraries to create engineering courses and training materials, and delivering them via the Web.

This study investigated the influence of information quality on the use of digital library resources by undergraduates in private universities in Southwest, Nigeria. Data were obtained through a structured questionnaire administered to 396 undergraduates, selected using a multistage sampling technique. Descriptive and inferential statistics were employed to analyze the data. The findings revealed that the overall information quality of digital library resources was rated high (x̅= 2.54). However, while students affirmed their value, limitations in conciseness indicated a need for improved structuring to enhance readability and comprehension. Findings further showed that information quality (β = 0.593, t = 13.600, p < 0.05) had a strong positive and significant effect on the use of digital library resources. This underscores that improvements in information quality are directly linked to increased utilization and student engagement. The study concludes that sustained use of digital library resources depends not only on their availability but also on the clarity and organization of content. It recommends that universities strengthen conciseness and usability through improved structuring and summarization strategies to maximize their role in supporting students’ learning and academic performance.

Singapore is experiencing both an ageing population and a decreasing birth rate, with fewer adults to care for older adults. Caregiving for older adults can be taxing, and hence, caregivers need support. Using previous literature and the study team’s interactions with caregivers, a multicomponent intervention, consisting of a mobile application, fall detection and response service, and peer support program, was conceptualized. To better understand the needs and challenges of caregivers and to determine the potential usefulness of the multicomponent intervention, the study team engaged ward nurses and Community Health Team (CHT) members, two groups of stakeholders that regularly interact with caregivers in their work, using a modified Delphi technique. Ward nurses and CHT members each formed one Delphi panel and answered statements specific to their panel over two rounds. Nineteen ward nurses and 15 CHT members participated. The final participation rate for both rounds was 100% (19/19) for ward nurses and 93% (14/15) for CHT members. A total of 17/30 statements (57%) and 10/32 statements (31%) reached consensus for ward nurses and CHT members, respectively. Ward nurses agreed that (a) caregivers will benefit from a one‐stop digital resource library (84%), (b) the importance of having a wide array of localized information for this digital resource (79%–89%) and (c) several challenges associated with caregiver training (74%–79%). The CHT members agreed that (a) caregivers do not receive adequate support outside their immediate family (86%), (b) caregivers struggle to manage care recipients’ behaviours and emotions (80%), and (c) there is a lack of relevant community resources for caregivers (71%–93%). The agreements indicated the feasibility of certain components of the intervention. Refinements to the multicomponent intervention were also made based on the findings.

Phase I of a 2‐phase project funded by the NSF‐National Science Digital Library Project used focus groups to determine how undergraduate science students perceive journal literature and how they use digital library resources. Their perceptions and use are contrasted with faculty and graduate teaching assistants in engineering, chemistry, and physics. Undergraduates have difficulties understanding journal articles. Although they consider themselves experts on the web, they rarely use online indexes or e‐journals unless required to for class. E‐Journals should be incrementally introduced to students starting at the time they declare a major. E‐Modules developed by the library and faculty could introduce the structure and content of articles, including links to glossaries and encyclopedias, tutorials about the publishing process, and study of the structure of articles.

In recent years, there has been a significant shift towards digitization within libraries worldwide, driven by advancements in technology and the increasing demand for online access to information. This transition has led to the proliferation of digital resources, including ebooks, databases, and multimedia materials, which offer numerous benefits such as enhanced accessibility, scalability, and preservation of cultural heritage (Bawden & Robinson, 2012; Maness, 2006).However, alongside these advancements, there arises a critical challenge: ensuring equal access to digital content for all individuals, including those with disabilities. The concept of digital accessibility has gained prominence as societies strive for inclusivity and diversity in the digital age.Divyangjan, or persons with disabilities, represent a significant portion of the population who may face barriers in accessing digital information due to various impairments such as visual, auditory, motor, or cognitive disabilities (United Nations, 2006).As libraries increasingly embrace digital platforms to disseminate knowledge and facilitate learning, it becomes imperative to address the accessibility needs of diverse user groups, ensuring that no one is left behind in the pursuit of information access and literacy (Jaeger & Bowman, 2005; UK Parliament, 2018).In response to these challenges, there have been notable developments and initiatives aimed at promoting accessibility in the digital realm. For instance, international organizations like the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) have developed guidelines such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), which provide standards and best practices for creating accessible web content (World Wide Web Consortium, 2018).Additionally, governments and regulatory bodies around the world have enacted laws and policies to promote digital accessibility and protect the rights of persons with disabilities, including provisions for accessible ICT procurement and the provision of reasonable accommodations (European Commission, 2016; United States Access Board, n.d.).These efforts underscore the growing recognition of digital accessibility as a fundamental human right and a prerequisite for full participation in society. Background and Context:In recent years, there has been a significant transformation in the landscape of libraries worldwide, characterized by a rapid shift towards digital resources and online platforms. This transition has been driven by various factors, including advancements in technology, changing user preferences, and the increasing availability of digital content.Libraries are increasingly digitizing their collections, offering e-books, electronic journals, databases, and multimedia resources to meet the evolving needs of their patrons (Bawden & Robinson, 2012).As libraries embrace the digital era, it becomes crucial to ensure that these resources are accessible to all individuals, including those with disabilities.Accessibility refers to the design of products, services, and environments that can be used by people with a wide range of abilities and disabilities, without discrimination. In the context of digital libraries, accessibility encompasses various aspects such as web design, content presentation, navigation, and interact ion.The goal is to remove barriers and provide equal access to information and resources for everyone, regardless of their abilities (Jaeger & Bowman, 2005).Divyangjan, or persons with disabilities, represent a significant portion of the population whose access to information may be hindered by various barriers in digital environments. These barriers could include inaccessible website designs, lack of alternative formats for content, or incompatible assistive technologies.Ensuring equal access to digital library resources for Divyangjan is not only a matter of social justice but also a legal and ethical imperative.Access to information is essential for education, employment, social inclusion,
