One of the problems with the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) is the problem of fulfilling customer requests according to the location that must be supplied from depots that have limited vehicle capacity. This also happened to Distributor PT. XYZ is located in Lamongan. Every day the distributor of PT. XYZ distributes fertilizer to several cities in East Java, one of which is in the city of Blitar. The problem that happened to the distributor of PT. XYZ does not yet have an optimal distribution route, resulting in delays in the delivery process. Optimization of distribution routes can be done by finding the shortest route in fertilizer distribution in the Blitar area. With the saving matrix and nearest neighbor method, the best route arrangement can shorten the distance and product delivery time. The final result will be savings in distribution costs because it can reduce fuel consumption for fertilizer trucks, reducing the company's variable costs and reducing environmental emissions.

In response to the challenge of high packet loss rates due to poor mobility of PCs, we introduce a sustainable design evaluation system centered around wireless network handheld terminals. This system combines hardware components, including microprocessor and wireless communication modules, to achieve wireless data transmission and program debugging. In the software domain, a configurable communication protocol is employed to establish an ecological data communication module supporting wireless network handheld terminals. Leveraging real-time monitoring data from multiple points, we introduce an information fusion algorithm and construct a green ecological sustainability design evaluation model. Notably, experimental results reveal that our system outperforms alternatives based on sensor and RFID technologies. It exhibits a lower packet loss rate and extends the distance of zero packet loss, highlighting its advantages in data communication.

Based on thindiscussion of the traditional agricultural product distribution model, this article establishes a low-carbon perspective of urban agricultural product co-distribution model to reduce the level of agricultural product circulation and reduce the impact of distribution activities on the environment. By comprehensively considering the factors affecting carbon emissions in the vehicle delivery process, the fuel consumption and carbon emissions estimation models of delivery vehicles are analyzed and put forward. A mathematical model for the optimization of urban agricultural product cold chain distribution routes from a low-carbon perspective is established. This article takes a logistics center as an example, selects genetic algorithm as the model solution method, optimizes the distribution route, and obtains the corresponding result, thus verifying the rationality and feasibility of the model.

Current economical situation in Finnish forest industry desperately calls for higher degree of efficiency in all stages of the production chain. The competitiveness of timber-based products directly and heavily depends on the raw material cost. At the same time, the successes of companies, that use timber, determine the volumes of the raw wood consumption and, therefore, drive forest markets. However, wood consuming companies (e.g. paper producers) can not unilaterally dictate logging and transportation prices to their contractors, because profitability of those, has already reached its reasonable margins (Vesterinen, 2005, Penttinen, 2009). Recent research conducted in 2005-2008 shows extremely high degree of inefficiency in logistic operations amongst logging and transportation companies. Some of them have already realized the need for cooperative optimization, which calls for cross-company integration of existing information and control systems; however privacy and trust issues prohibit those companies from taking the open environment solutions. Therefore, the researchers have suggested new mediator-based business models that leverage the utilization and preserve current state of affairs at the same time. New business solutions for logistic optimization can be built, when a unified view on the market players is possible. Nevertheless, with fast development of communications, RFID and sensor technologies, forest industry sector is experiencing a technological leap. The adoption of innovative technologies opens possibilities for enactment of new business scenarios driven by bleeding edge ICT tools and technologies. We introduce an application scenario of the semantic agent platform called UBIWARE to the forest industry sector of Finland.

This chapter aims to explore the feasibility of using blockchain in the beef supply chain to reduce waste. A mono-method, qualitative, inductive, single case study approach was taken on a cross-sectional scale from June 2018 to August 2018, with two individuals interviewed: a beef and a blockchain expert. The case study also involved observations, a field visit, and other secondary source data. Beef is a high demand, valuable food product with a limited shelf life. By using blockchain in conjunction with RFID and sensor technologies, farming and processing stages in the beef supply chain can be streamlined. Firstly, using the technology to monitor the animals on the farm and during transportation can reduce the amount of water and energy wasted. Secondly, blockchain can be used to establish exactly when and where the meat is cut and packaged, improving the accuracy of information between supply chain entities, resulting in improved inventory management, specifically more accurate delivery times and lengthened product shelf lives.

Optimization of distribution routes is intended to allocate products to each high school in Surakarta as well as to choose the route that has the biggest time savings so that transportation costs can be optimized. The route currently used is quite long, so the time needed for the distribution is long. Determination of distribution routes using the Djikstra algorithm method is carried out on the distribution of LKS in CV ABC. The Djikstra algorithm method allows route optimization by taking into account vehicle capacity and number of demand from each customer. The data used are the distance between the warehouse to each high school and the distance between high schools, the quantity delivery per customer, and the vehicle capacity. The results of this study are that if implementing the shipping allocation by prioritizing the closest distance in advance it will save more travel time than applying the allocation used by this company. Based on the analysis, it was found that the optimal shortest route in the distribution of LKS to SMA was to save fuel needs by 1.21 liters and save transportation costs by Rp. 9075 or 17.89% of the initial transportation costs.

With the development of big data technology, such as data mining and data matching, many industries have started a revolution, including medical field. Big data not only strengthens the accuracy of medical diagnosis, but it also enhances the efficiency of the entire medical system and relevant medical staff. Additionally, with the rethinking of innovation, the application of wearable intelligent device, RFID technology and sensor technology play positive roles in promoting medical interaction between hospital system and wearer. Smart medical provides effective methods for individual health management and promotes the progress of medical information. However, there are also some inevitable ethical problems, e.g., the leakage of privacy information, which cannot be avoided to some extents. The authors recommend some suggestions to reduce the possibilities of ethical problems happened during the data flow process.

Aiming at the problems of complex urban road network, low efficiency of logistics distribution, and the difficulty of large-scale logistics distribution area division and routing planning, this paper proposes a two-stage logistics distribution vehicle routing optimization (VRP) method based on the establishment of a multi-factor complex road network constrained logistics distribution mathematical model. Considering the complex traffic elements and road network topological structure in logistics and distribution, in the first stage, a heuristic simulated annealing (HSA) distribution region partitioning algorithm is proposed with the objective of balancing vehicle task load to divide the urban logistics distribution network under complex road networks, so as to reduce the area scale and path search cost. In the second stage of route decision making, aiming at minimizing the total cost of logistics distribution, combining the VRP problem with complex road network conditions, a heuristic path search method combined with complex road network model constraints is proposed. In this stage, a hybrid genetic beam search(HGBS) algorithm is used to plan the path nodes, reduce the randomness of the model in the initial search for paths by heuristic genetic algorithms, then combine with Beam graph search methods to reduce the space and time used for the search, and use optimization algorithms to improve the accuracy of independent sub-region routing optimization and the rationality of overall physical distribution route selection. Finally, the proposed method is validated in this paper with two practical cases. The experimental results show that the two-stage decision-making algorithm proposed in this paper has certain advantages in partitioning schemes, minimizing total cost and iteration times. Through comparison, the optimization ability of this method for logistics distribution networks is proved.

The newspaper industry has several distinctive characteristics that make it stand out from other industries due to tight production and delivery times. The results of a case study in one of the newspaper companies in the city of Surakarta, found several problems, one of which is the slow distribution process due to the determination of the wrong route. The problem of distribution is the problem of the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP). Vehicle Routing Problem is a problem related to determining the optimal distribution route by involving several obstacles to serve a number of agents at the request of each agent. One of the obstacles of the Vehicle Routing Poblem is the capacity of the vehicle. This study applies the Vehicle Routing Problem using the Nearest Neighbor method to optimize the distribution route. The Nearest Neighbor method is used to design routes based on the next closest distance. Distribution efficiency is evaluated based on the total distance, time and load borne by the vehicle fleet. The results showed that the distribution route was divided into two routes with a total distance traveled as far as 27.3 km and a total time of 1 hour 30 minutes in accordance with the time windows policy that is applied daily Solopos. Based on the use of these methods, it can save company expenses of Rp. 134,160.00 per day or Rp. 1,609,920.00 per month in product distribution for the Surakarta City area.
