Di-photon Higgs decay in the MSSM with explicit CP violation
The Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) with explicit CP violation is studied with the help of the di-photon decay channel of the lightest neutral Higgs boson. Effects of CP violation, entering via the scalar/pseudo-scalar mixing at higher order as well as through the Higgs-sfermion-sfermion couplings at tree-level, are analyzed in the MSSM with and without light sparticles. A light stop may have a strong impact on the decay width and Branching Ratio (BR) of the decay process H1 → γγ, whereas other light sparticles have only little influence. In some regions of the MSSM parameter space with large CP-violating phase ϕμ ∼ 90° a light stop can change the BR by more than 50%.

Electroweak Symmetry Breaking in Supersymmetric Gauge-Higgs Unification Models
We examine the Higgs mass parameters and electroweak symmetry breaking in supersymmetric orbifold field theories in which the 4-dimensional Higgs fields originate from higher-dimensional gauge supermultiplets. It is noted that such gauge-Higgs unification leads to a specific boundary condition on the Higgs mass parameters at the compactification scale, which is independent of the details of supersymmetry breaking mechanism. With this boundary condition, phenomenologically viable parameter space of the model is severely constrained by the condition of electroweak symmetry breaking for supersymmetry breaking scenarios which can be realized naturally in orbifold field theories. For instance, if it is assumed that the 4-dimensional effective theory is the minimal supersymmetric standard model with supersymmetry breaking parameters induced mainly by the Scherk-Schwarz mechanism, a correct electroweak symmetry breaking can not be achieved for reasonable range of parameters of the model, even when one includes additional contributions to the Higgs mass parameters from the auxiliary component of 4-dimensional conformal compensator. However if there exists a supersymmetry breaking mediated by brane superfield, sizable portion of the parameter space can give a correct electroweak symmetry breaking.
Read moreConstraining electroweakinos in the minimal Dirac gaugino model
Supersymmetric models with Dirac instead of Majorana gaugino masses have distinct phenomenological consequences. In this paper, we investigate the electroweakino sector of the Minimal Dirac Gaugino Supersymmetric Standard Model (MDGSSM) with regards to dark matter (DM) and collider constraints. We delineate the parameter space where the lightest neutralino of the MDGSSM is a viable DM candidate, that makes for at least part of the observed relic abundance while evading constraints from DM direct detection, LEP and low-energy data, and LHC Higgs measurements. The collider phenomenology of the thus emerging scenarios is characterised by the richer electroweakino spectrum as compared to the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) -6 neutralinos and 3 charginos instead of 4 and 2 in the MSSM, naturally small mass splittings, and the frequent presence of long-lived particles, both charginos and/or neutralinos. Reinterpreting ATLAS and CMS analyses with the help of SmodelS and MadAnalysis 5, we discuss the sensitivity of existing LHC searches for new physics to these scenarios and show which cases can be constrained and which escape detection. Finally, we propose a set of benchmark points which can be useful for further studies, designing dedicated experimental analyses and/or investigating the potential of future experiments.

Revival of the thermal sneutrino dark matter
The left-handed sneutrino in the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) has been ruled out as a viable thermal dark matter candidate, due to conflicting constraints from direct detection experiments and from the measurement of the dark matter relic density. The intrinsic fine-tuning problem of the MSSM, however, motivates an extension with a new $U(1{)}^{\ensuremath{'}}$ gauge symmetry. We show that in the $U(1{)}^{\ensuremath{'}}$-extended MSSM the right-handed sneutrino ${\stackrel{\texttildelow{}}{\ensuremath{\nu}}}_{R}$ becomes a good thermal dark matter candidate. We identify two generic parameter space regions where the combined constraints from relic density determinations, direct detection, and collider searches are all satisfied.

Neutralino-nucleus elastic cross section in the minimal supersymmetric standard model with explicitCPviolation
We study the elastic scattering of the lightest neutralino with a nucleus in the framework of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) with explicit flavor preserving CP violation, including the one-loop CP-violating neutral Higgs-boson mixing effects induced dominantly by the CP phases in the top and bottom (s)quark sectors. We construct the most general form of the effective Lagrangian for the neutralino-nucleus scattering in the limit of vanishing momentum transfers and then we perform a comprehensive analysis of the effects of the complex CP phases on the mass spectra of the lightest neutralino, neutral Higgs bosons and top squarks, and on the the spin-dependent and spin-independent neutralino-nucleus scattering cross section for three neucleus targets F, Si and Ge. The CP phases can reduce or enhance the neutralino-nucleus cross sections significantly, depending on the values of the real parameters in the MSSM.
Read moreA search for neutral Higgs bosons in the MSSM and models with two scalar field doublets
A search is described for the neutral Higgs bosons h0 and A0 predicted by models with two scalar field doublets and, in particular, the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). The search in the Z0h0 and h0A0 production channels is based on data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 25 pb−1 from e+e− collisions at centre-of-mass energies between 130 and 172 GeV collected with the OPAL detector at LEP. The observation of a number of candidates consistent with Standard Model background expectations is used in combination with earlier results from data collected at the Z0 resonance to set limits on mh and ma in general models with two scalar field doublets and in the MSSM. For example, in the MSSM, for tan β > 1, minimal and maximal scalar top quark mixing and soft SUSY-breaking masses of 1 TeV, the 95% confidence level limits mh > 59.0 GeV and ma > 59.5 GeV are obtained. For the first time, the MSSM parameter space is explored in a detailed scan.
Read moreSquark production with R-symmetry beyond NLO at the LHC
The Minimal R-symmetric Supersymmetric Standard Model (MRSSM) provides a realisation of supersymmetry in which the parameter space is less constrained by the current LHC data than in the simplest supersymmetric scenarios. In the present paper, we obtain the most precise theoretical predictions in the MRSSM for squark production at the LHC, enabling accurate interpretations of LHC data in terms of the MRSSM. We perform threshold resummation of soft gluon corrections to the total cross sections for the production of squark-(anti)squark pairs at the LHC in the MRSSM framework. The resummation is carried out using the direct QCD method and reaches the next-to-next-to-leading-logarithmic (NNLL) accuracy, which requires calculating the one-loop matching coefficients in the relevant production channels. The resummed cross sections are then matched to the available NLO results and evaluated for S\\documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \\usepackage{amsmath} \\usepackage{wasysym} \\usepackage{amsfonts} \\usepackage{amssymb} \\usepackage{amsbsy} \\usepackage{mathrsfs} \\usepackage{upgreek} \\setlength{\\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \\begin{document}$$ \\sqrt{S} $$\\end{document} = 13.6 TeV. Compared with the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM), the cross sections in the MRSSM can be significantly reduced, implying less stringent limits on squark and gluino masses. Our results carry significant implications for exploring the viability of supersymmetry at the LHC. The results of our calculation are publicly available as a numerical package.
Read moreCancellation mechanism in the predictions of electric dipole moments
The interpretation of the baryon asymmetry of the Universe necessitates the CP violation beyond the Standard Model (SM). We present a general cancellation mechanism in the theoretical predictions of the electron electric dipole moments (EDM), quark chromo-EDMs, and Weinberg operators. A relative large CP violation in the Higgs sector is allowed by the current electron EDM constraint released by the ACME collaboration in 2013, and the recent $^{199}$Hg EDM experiment. The cancellation mechanism can be induced by the mass splitting of heavy Higgs bosons around $\sim\mathcal{O}(0.1-1)$ GeV, and the extent of the mass degeneracy determines the magnitude of the CP-violating phase. We explicate this point by investigating the CP-violating two-Higgs-doublet model and the minimal supersymmetric Standard Model. The cancellation mechanism is general when there are CP violation and mixing in the Higgs sector of new physics models. The CP-violating phases in this scenario can be excluded or detected by the projected $^{225}$Ra EDM experiments with precision reaching $\sim10^{-28}\,e\cdot{\rm cm}$, as well as the future colliders.
