Van der Waals magnetic material as a novel material platform has drawn great research attention in recent years. Van der Waals material has the merits of being able to be thinned down to atomic thickness, susceptible to stress and electric field and are versatile for heterostructure construction. These advantages make them potential as candidates for next generation spintronic devices. In this thesis, three works regarding van der Waals magnetic material Fe3GaTe2 and MnBi2Te4 are introduced. We used newly discovered room temperature van der Waals ferromagnet Fe3GaTe2 as a building block for magnetic tunneling junction (MTJ) device. Fe3GaTe2/WSe2/ Fe3GaTe2 MTJ is fabricated to study tunneling magnetoresistance. Our device shows extraordinary performance at both low temperature and room temperature. Tunneling magnetoresistance ratios are higher than most other similar works. Besides we also studied the effect of DC bias current and AC excitation current to the performance of our device. The result shows highly tunable tunneling magnetoresistance. The result of this work is a strong indicator for the prospects of such room temperature van der Waals material in spintronics applications. Another material with great potential is MnBi2Te4. Odd-layer MBT is an Chern insulator and quantum anomalous Hall effect has been achieved in this system, yet it is notoriously hard to achieve and there is barely any reproduction of QAHE in MBT due to low sample quality. We have achieved QAHE in two of our 5-SL MBT devices and studied the transport property of chiral edge state in MBT. The Hall resistance measurement and four-terminal longitudinal resistance are strong evidence for the QAH state realized in our sample. Whereas three-terminal resistance serves as a verification of Landauer-Buttiker Formula, proves the chirality in the edge state. Lastly, with nonreciprocal resistance measurement, we observed significant contrast between the minimum signal at charge neutrality point and high nonreciprocal strength at band edge, a strong indication that the CNP is dominated by the chiral edge state. For even-layer MBT we tried to achieve current induced magnetization switching in the material. The strong SOC in the material means spin orbital torque is possible to achieve in it. We applied layer Hall effect as a method to distinguish different antiferromagnetic (AFM) state and used a DC pulse current to switch the Neel vector of the sample. The gate dependent measurement shows a carrier dependent behavior of magnetization switching, and temperature dependent switching shows the same trend as layer Hall signal. The angular dependent switching shows a twofold symmetry with one anomaly which requires further investigation. This study on current induced switching indicates the potential of MBT as a building block for future spintronic devices.
